Anne- what an angel to organize a birthday lost. Mine is March 31, 1947. Not ashamed of the year. Just glad to be able to see it at all.

Barb, thanks for the tank shirt information. That is what I did when I went through radiation and still wear around the house however going bra less for me would not be a pretty picture...believe me. I may have to try Chevy's idea and take a few stitches in the one side, at least that would eliminate the big wrinkle.

Jo, yes, I did that to a few! And they fit much better... Just clip the straps and sew them back in place after you take in the cups...
I go bra-less whenever I am home though... unless company is coming over... THEN I have to get all prettied up, and wear shoes, hair and make-up, same as when we are going out.
Do any of you have a Trac-phone? And do you like the program? I had a GoPhone from Walmart, with the AT&T plan, and it was terrible, and I cancelled it, took the whole mess back.
I want one for DH, (that's assuming he will carry one).... and ....actually I don't want one.... but the girls think their Dad needs some sort of phone, so when he falls, or gets lost, he can call... that's also assuming he doesn't fall on his head and can't call anyway. I mean it's GOOD when he carries his KEYS! Never mind a phone.
We are always together, except when he goes for his little walks... but he says "someone will find me...." and he's right.
Congratulations on finishing Radiation!

I MEAN .... Puffin, Congratulations on finishing CHEMO! See, you were on the last page, and I couldn't go back... so I spoke without knowing what I was talking about... which is nothing unusual.
YOU guys are all just KIDS! So that means you all have to look UP to me.... Ha, ha! I mean since I am so short, maybe DOWN to me.
See, when you are older, it means you must know EVERYthing.... something to look forward to... more or less. Or at least THINK you do... and we bluff a lot.Which brings me to the question, WHERE IN THE WORLD IS CAMMI???
Meemers, have YOU seen her.... ??? She may be lying in wait.... for your um.... tryst. She probably is in a narrow trench, with her camouflage outfit on, and her Pit Helmet. It's okay.... we got this covered.

I was asked if I wanted to participate, and so I did....

Puffin -- extra large, gigantic, huge congrats for finishing your chemo. That last one, huh !!!! Seemed like it took a bit long getting to it as I counted everything down, but since se's are cumulative, I started to wonder just when I'd get taste and wellness sensations back or if something had gone wrong -- and uh. But it all worked itself out --- happy, happy dance for you.
That can be quite the hurdle sometimes -- each person has to learn as they go because it is always a slightly different presentation for each person. I'm so glad you have that behind you now.
Mostly mom, I love the little Pug and roses. Also the great reminder. It is a gorgeous world and it is easy to get distracted at times as we climb over the rocks that get tossed on our path -right in front of us. We are made to solve problems -- most of the time swiftly -- but we do forget that we are also here to experience joy and peace for ourselves and others and to try to stay aware of all the positive aspects and beauty there is in our world. Become one with beautiful things and it will be matched by who you are.
Off to work but I'll be back. See you all then.
Blessings
Jackie

Good morning all ...

Chevy - I used to see that kind of cell phone advertised in the AARP magazine all the time. Particularly good since it was a flip phone with BIG numbers on the key pad. Hmmm, wonder what has happened to my magazine? Anyway, you can google AARP phones and it looks like there are deals for under $10/month with no contract.

I don't think you've got mine either - but I don't post as often...

Chevy, When you get the phone for your DH, program your number in under the name ICE. It stands for in case of emergency and I think aid people are trained to look for it. If there's a backup person, put their number in under ICE2. That would probably be your daughter, If you're in a car accident together, the home number would be useless. I'm thinking of putting my DS as my second ICE. He's not in the state, but has an iphone and answers it. DD is local but very hard to get hold of. And remember, you want him to carry the phone in case YOU need help.

Congrats, Puffin!!!

Wren, that's a good idea! I forgot about that.... So if or when I DO get him a phone..... I mean one that he will actually carry, I'll do that.
I have a Sprint cell, and at that time, the gal gave me a good rate of $15 a month for 150 minutes, and I never even USE that much.... Maybe about 20 minutes.... because we have a land-line at home, so everyone calls us on that one.... But I have it in case of emergency....

Yay Puffin so happy for you!!!0 -
Yay for Puffin. I'll bet ringing that bell was an awesome experience!
Tomorrow is my 5th surgery. Today I went to the hospital to get a PICC line put in. I had so much scar tissue in the vein they have to use (from 4 previous PICC's) that they couldn't feed the line through it despite over an hour of trying. Yikes! They hit nerves several times that sent me to the ceiling. So, lucky me, they had to start over, using a vein they call the "last resort." Apparently it's only used in 1% of patients.
I was ready for another hour of fun, but they got it fairly quickly. I'm so glad it's all over. Usually it's no big deal and all I feel is the sting of Lidocaine. Today was 2 hours of anxiety and NO fun. (insert picture here
)
Tomorrow morning is going to be a piece of cake. I just show up, they plug in some Versed and then we're off to the OR. I should be back home Sunday. They usually keep me till the 3rd day to make sure nothing weird is happening. (I've flat-lined 4 times in years past and I had a stroke last year so they stick monitors everywhere and put me on a floor that's an ICU step-down unit.) I keep telling them I'm fine, but nobody ever believes me. How many times do I NOT have to die before they'll calm down?

CONGRATULTIONS Puffin. Oh they had no Bell when I finished I picked up my monitor thing and threw it on the floor. So glad u'r done.
Been a little busy and sill waiting for my computer to really get fixed.BTW I notice it misspells a lot of words too, but I don't care about that so that will stay the same.

Cammie -- so good to see you. We don't care if your computer can't spell -- just as long as you keep coming to find us.

Ah MAN! I turn on my computer, and there is Sandra! Now SHE is in the throes of all those blue-coats! We are WITH you SANDRA!
Jackie, that was such a beautiful thing you posted! Everytime I see you posted a saying with a picture, I just stop and read it and let it soak in... It will surely be with Sandra today. Thank you.............!
And then Cammi has somehow come to the realization that her computer mis-spells words... Now THOSE problems are caused ONLY because their MOTHER has forsaken the goings-on of how such procedures happen. But she is having ENOUGH trouble already, just turning ON the 25 year old computer, that I shouldn't mention that.
So Cammi, how would we EVER know it was you, if somehow your computer decided to spell all those words right? See? We wouldn't.... so don't worry about a thing.... WE don't.... We just worry when you don't say a word to us...
Oh wait.... I detect the problem here.... YOU THREW YOUR MONITOR ON THE FLOOR you said! Now SEE? That's why you are having all these problems. You can't DO that. Man! I have to straighten EVERYthing out for her.
Okay Sandra.... Get ready for your appointment with the Blue Coats... Looks like you've joined them.... Just do what Jackie says, and we'll see you on the other side! xoxoxo

SURGERY CANCELLED. Pre-op lab tests showed a problem with my thyroid. Surgeon says it's too dangerous for me to go under general anesthesia. Crap, crap, crap. Sure do wish his assistant had looked at those lab results yesterday before I had to get the PICC line. He called just as we were leaving for the hospital.
Pity Party, table for one...your table is ready.

Oh Sandra, I am so sorry to hear that -- in one way. You did have your mind and heart all set to move forward. Well, of course, on the other hand --- how fantastic to have a blood test to rely on to RULE out something that shouldn't happen RIGHT JUST NOW.
I am hoping they will find the problem quickly and be able to find a quick fix too and get you back on the surgery schedule -- maybe while the ole' picc line is still hanging in there.
Waving hi at everyone else. Blondie, Cammie, Chevy -- I think my alphabetizing abilities just gave up -- well, all of you.
Great day outside -- will be warmer than it has been, but not anything close to hot -- just pleasant. A nice Fall day that makes your insides tingle with warm positive sensations. Nice enough to have doors and windows open.
Wishing everyone a glorious day.
Blessings
Jackie
