I did a run yesterday which ended in my scouring a sunny bank for dandelions. Then, a fast dash into Seattle for a makeover. Must try the way the eyebrows ended up! Got new blush and a new eye shadow combo for spring.

Day ended with my making a delish dish for dinner featuring the dandelions. Plus, bacon, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, and a bit of red pepper. YUM!!!!!

Feature of the run was a frog serenade at Kari's Bog. It was the most glorious day with bright sunshine. Thinking I will be on my bicycle today. Really important to get (literally) rolling to be fit enough for the spring cycling events. Plus finally get over this cold and cough. - Claire

Too funny Ruth, 15 minutes is better than 0 minutes - baby steps. Oh Patoo what a mess but at least it's getting done (you should have called Wonderland she could have those rooms painted in a flash Winking) LARock your babies are beautiful. I took Sid home so my 'seeing eye' duties are over but I sure do miss him.

Did Body Pump this morning but it in no way made up for all the crap I've eaten in the past few days, I really need to get back on the wagon Shocked

Gorgeous beach pictures, Cheryl and LARock and oh my such cute dogs. They look very happy to be at the beach. Who could blame them!

Claire I always wish I had the makeup artist living with me after getting a makeover. All these years of practice and I still can't do it the way they do!

I decided not to exercise yesterday but did go to the grocery store and out for Mexican food with my mom. This morning I still am not sick even though I don't feel 100%, so after consulting WebMD, I decided to go ahead and walk but maybe at 80% rather than 100% effort. So I walked the dog 15 minutes and then went to the lake for 30 minutes. Its a little warmer today, partly sunny, and it felt good to get out and stimulate my T-cells. (That's what WebMD said).

It's been an intense few days. My kind gentle FIL died Friday morning. He started deteriorating overnight, and my MIL stayed with him the whole time. She was holding his hand, and when he seemed to be really struggling she leaned over and whispered to him that it was OK to go. He moved his tongue like he was trying to say something, then took a deep breath, and was gone. She was holding on to him right till the very end. It was a gentle passing. He was at home and never was in pain or distress. All the kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids got a chance to see him and say their good-byes. Best of all he had his beloved wife next to him the whole time. They would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary this week.

Mary-so sorry for your loss. I am glad he had his wife with him right to the end.

Went to the gym this morning and walked an hour and a half on the treadmill. We went out to lunch and now it is snowing furiously now.

3/1- happy March folks. Got a bit behind again but back here with updates. Been working on finishing some final reorg around the house post renovation, so lots of moving around of stuff this weekend (on top of shoveling yesterday). Snow is completely gone (love the southwest) and got out to the gym today for a nice 50 min weight work out. I need to get back on track with my cardio this week!

Mary- I am sorry about your FIL passing. I am glad the family was with him and that he was told it was okay to go. Sometimes people really need to hear that. I hope whatever services follow go well for your family. He and his wife sounded like they had a long lovely relationship right until the end. Peace sister.

Two hobbies- I always think when you are around bugs that exercise helps keep your immune system up. Sounds like you might be fighting off some crud and hope you can stay well. My docs say try to do something every day for 30 min.

Patoo- you have done an outstanding job dropping the A1C numbers! Mine was good last time but my doc keeps me on 500 mg of metformin. You go girl and keep working out and doing all the good stuff you are doing, because it is working for ya!

Wishing everyone a good week. Spring is coming! Happy

Mary, I am so sorry for your loss. Glad it was peaceful with your MIL by his side. Seems like you don't hear of love like that as often these days.

Cheryl, thank you for the beach pictures. I really needed those. So sick of snow and now icy weather. We have had freezing rain here all day.

LAROCK, such cute fur babies! Patoo, awesome job on your numbers. You should be proud!

Made my daily step goal yesterday running errands after working some overtime. Today I walked on the treadmill for an hour. Gonna try to get extra exercise in this week since I am having minor Lasik surgery next Saturday and will be unable to exercise for one week.

    Good night all

Mary, my deepest condolences to Mark and his family. Happy she was able to be there for him till the very end. Must have been a remarkable 65+ years. RIP.

20 mins shovel and sculpt this morning. As long as I picked up more paint did about 45 mins paint touch-ups in spots the contractor is not responsible for.

    Night sculpted friends.

Mary, I am so sorry to hear of your FIL's passing. My deepest condolences to your MIL and DH. It sounded like a gentle, loving end.

Patoo, congrats on the numbers! Metformin is supposed to be more effective against cancer for non-diabetics. Maybe something to consider if your numbers are back to normal to stay on it for a while, if it isn't a problem for you and your doctor.

Gorgeous pics, Cheryl and cute dogs (and DH), LArock. Good luck on the Lasik, odie.

    Saturday was Zumba, Sunday Salsa.

Mary: I'm very sorry for your loss My thoughts are with you & your family

I was able to get outside & walk yesterday as have arrived in AZ for my meeting. Walked 4.4 miles over the course of the afternoon (I treated myself to a Fitbit last week). I was pretty tired last night but feel good this morning. Now I get to sit in lectures for the day Singing

    Getting caught up here -

Mary - so sorry to hear about your FIL's passing.

    Cheryl - great beach pictures!

    LARock - loved the pups!

Patoo - WAY TO GO! That is awesome about your A1C! My hubby was supposed to get his numbers rechecked a few months ago but he hasn't made the appt yet. I reminded him yesterday...hope he will get it rechecked soon to see if he is on the right track.

Did some NC snow shoveling last week and it was 66 degrees today. Very crazy weather we're having! I did the treadmill yesterday and am getting ready to hop on in a few minutes. Started therapy to get some strength back in my arms, so I've been doing those exercises. It's hard to believe how tired my upper arms feel after doing some of these exercises even though I am not using any weights. Looking forward to having that strength back!

    ThumbsUp

Hi all. 30 mins treadmill and have been holding 3 lb wts and doing arm lifts while walking.

Heidi, yes, I'm thinking to maybe stay on the metformin at a lower dose if my numbers stay low. I'm sure my primary doc will agree if it helps to keep my glucose down at the same time. We'll see at my next checkup in May.

Expecting more snow tomorrow and Thursday. I am so ready for 'Summer Fun' in SD. hbcheryl, I saw snow on your beaches? Just weird weather throughout the nation.

    Night my sculpted friends.

Mary, so sorry for your loss! It's never easy.

30 minutes of pilates after work tonight. And then baking dog treats! Used some upper body muscles to mix the batter and roll it out.

    Love all the dog pics!

Mary, so sorry about your FIL. Patoo, way to go on the numbers!! Cheryl, that's one heck of a hailstorm to look that deep - I think I'd rather have snow. I can't seem to get rid of a lingering cough and fatigue from what I thought was a simple head cold three weeks ago. Just haven't been able to drag myself to the gym in the a.m. and because of a huge project I'm working late most nights and fall asleep catching up with the evening news. Weekends I don't even feel like leaving the house to pick up a gallon of milk, much less actually work out. Whine, whine, alas, poor me. Thanks for letting me feel sorry for myself for a few minutes. I'll just stick with my good intentions (I do have my gym bag packed every single night....lol) and hope to start hearing those voices again.

    Love to all!

TwoHobbies - hope you feel better soon. Thanks Wonderland, knew I could count on you! Sweet, I'm turning the voices up - can you hear them now? I actually keep a gym bag packed and in the back of my car and still can't seem to make it to the gym but the voices do make me hop on the treadmill at home each night.

Happy Birthday ruth. Hope you are doing something fun (aside from your exercising that is).

30 mins treadmill. Snowing out but should get in high 40's tomorrow so no shoveling. Can't say the same for Thursday when the next storm is supposed to hit. How many more days until Spring?

    Night sculpted friends.

3/3- spent some time reorging the garage today which meant lots of lifting, cleaned the car top to bottom and then took an end of the day 25 min walk. I may do a bit of work with the home kettle bell tonight too!

Two hobbies- sorry you got the bug. I know you were fighting it off over the weekend. Get better and the exercise will be there for you when you feel better.
