Finished painting the bathroom and cleaned.

Twohobbies We might! We go and see it again this time with DH on Tuesday. DD is really excited about both the house and the fact we will be about 15 minutes away from her! Here's hoping DH likes it and can stand up in the basement! He's 6'4 and I think it will be close! When they built house used old foundation so very short in height. Fun to think about anyway!

Going to be hot hot hot here this week! Have a great Monday everyone

Lilac - sounds like your fundraiser was great! Ruth - the beach seems like the perfect place to be with all this hot nasty weather. Sweet, good to see you. And Happy Anniversary, Ginger. Ruth and Wonder - have fun at lunch - we want a full report and pictures!

Hot and sticky here too. We were up at the cabin this weekend. Even when it's hot in DC, usually it's nice and cool up in the mountains and we can keep the windows open, but this weekend it was nasty even up there, so we surrendered and put on the AC. Garden N Sculpt kind of weekend, puttering with weeding in the garden and watering some new grass we'd planted a few weeks ago, but all of that was done at a very slow pace. We took in Secret Life of Pets Saturday - cute movie with some clever scenes, but the plot was a bit thin.

For those of you who have met Mikey, he's still going strong even at 14 and with cardiac issues. Here he is enjoying some sun time at the cabin this weekend. He'd just spent the previous hour barking at cardinals, so he was ready for a rest. Something about that chirp noise cardinals make drives him crazy. (As do doorbells, vacuum cleaners, people laughing, the dishwasher, electric drills, the garbage disposal, the mail carrier, other dogs, cats, chipmunks, etc. etc.) But he's a good boy and we love him. Oh Mikey, you're so fine!

Wonderland, my sister, SIL, and I had a very fun lunch at a neat little Italian restaurant near the airport. I will so have to go on a diet when I get home.....sitting in the airport hoping for no travel surprises!

Heidi, sorry for loss of your father. Happy Anniversary wishes Ginger. Sweet, nice to see you. I've been lurking somewhat as well but also still exercising (at least when company is not around!). I'm also looking forward to San Antonio. Great pic Ruth and Wonderland. Hi Mikey!

Was able to turn off AC last night as had nice, almost cool, breeze flowing about so nice to get fresh air into the house. Didn't last long and turned AC back on when got back from water aerobics class this morning. Humidity has been high. Have been getting back into exercise mode since family members/guests have left.

    Later sculpted friends.

Hi everyone. Just catching up. Thanks for the well wishes and yes I did it. This makes me 10 for 10!!! This really is an adventure and a lot of the fun is meeting all sorts of people along the way. Right now, I am wearing my "Finisher" medal. I am wondering how long until I take it off?

The conditions were a "overcast with a bit of wind out of the south". This was good and bad news as it was nice cycling in cooler temps, but not against a headwind!!! I noticed that the people on the bus back today were quite subdued.

I do have at least one nice photo on Marathon Foto which I will purchase. Amazing how quickly they post these things now. This one shows the sheer joy of accomplishment at the finish. I will see if there are any others I want. I know there are several that show the determination it takes to do this. Not sure if anything I want to share with the world.

LilacBlue....I am sure that you will make a "go" of things. So while a shock, this could also be "congrats". HeidiHill....sorry about your father, but it seems like he had a long and wonderful life. Hope you had some steamed crabs while at the seashore, Ruth.

Hoping I can do another 10 years. Each year is an adventure on top of the bragging rights. I am having steak for dinner tonight. Not to mention looking forward to a great night's sleep in my own bed. Below is a picture at the first rest stop while I was still fresh. - Claire

p.s. One hilarious story. Some of the newer helmets have round vents, not the elipse-shaped that my helmet has. One guy who is bald on top neglected to put sunscreen on his head. He is now sporting round patches of sunburn!!!

Go, Claire!!! Love the selfies, Wonderland, Ruth and Claire! NIce pic of Mikey, Mary.

Biked to the bike shop to get a new charger, but it was closed. It was still a nice ride with DD along the river. Haven't had the energy yet for Body Jam, Cheryl. Ginger, I may join you on the C25K.

Claire - congratulations! You put in so much hard work to train for it, and it shows. What a fabulous accomplishment to make 10 for 10. Did you sleep with your medal?? I think I would have. Heehee on the guy with the round sunburn spots!

It's been so hot and humid that I've been bad about my running this week - I've been getting my steps in marching around the house. Tomorrow morning is supposed to be down to the high 60's at 6am, so hope to get a run in tomorrow.

    Last night did Body Jam.

Love all the pics, Claire congratulations on 10 for 10.
Ruth and Wonderland so glad you got together, lunch looked like fun.
Mary so happy to see that cheeky boy, he is so sweet, Rooney is still hanging in some days I think 'this is it' but he comes up good the next day, he too is a 'little shit' on Sunday he 'told off' a dog for having the audacity to walk past his house on a leash with his owner, for being barely able to move to a hoppy jumpy 'get off my sidewalk' barking attack then boom over on his side cause his heart is compromised, I told I didn't feel sorry for him cause he did it to himself, callous I know but he was happy being able to protect me as we walked out to the car.
Heidi we are doing 77, the first block is hard, it literally takes your breath away but I love the song September and of course after doing it a few times it's gone from 'What' to 'oh yeah, I got this'.

    Congratulations, Claire!

I did make it home safe & sound after having to circle the Denver airport for awhile. It was closed down because it was raining so hard! Geez, I was reading a book about the aftermath of an airplane crash & was a little worried for awhile that I might be having a premonition! Shocked

I did go to POUND (which was actually a circuit class because the teacher is on vacation), cleaned the house & bought some groceries. I will go back to Barre tonight. After a week of doing nothing, my heel doesn't feel one bit better; so I have an email into my doctor who had said that he'd refer me to PT for ultra sound if it wasn't better once I got home. So......

Tomorrow is my Book Club's annual field trip to a big town 100 miles away where we will shop, eat, go to Barnes & Noble, shop, and eat some more. It's a tough job but somebody's got to do it! Winking

Yes it does Cheryl. I even play music when I am doing stuff that is so boring that I need a distraction.

Ruth - I don't think I'd have the courage to read a book about a plane crash while flying, but glad you had a safe trip.

Music absolutely helps me with workouts. After years of using wired earbuds to listen to my music while running (using it in only one ear for safety) my old set gave out last run. To replace it, I bought a bluetooth wireless earbud. it looks sort of like a hearing aid. I tried it for the first time this morning, and it's great. It connected seamlessly with my phone, and I didn't even know it was there, and the sound quality was excellent. So much easier than fussing with the regular wired headset. I picked it up on Amazon for $17 which I didn't think was too bad. It even comes with its own little case for storage.

Took advantage of a break in the heat this morning for a 2.5 mile run along the golf course with my new earbud. Eleven deer, including a couple of bucks - one already a 6-point - a bunch of does, and 4 fawns, including the gamboling twins. Today the twins were running and leaping through the woods. I couldn't believe how high they could leap - they looked like African springboks!

I certainly did. I did weights, crunches, walking.....plus I was doing long bicycle rides training for that year's Seattle-to-Portland. Important to keep strong and fit, if possible. Good luck!

Some patients do have skin breakdown, but my team was ready to do dressings and the like so I could train. I never needed anything. I got a bit tired at the end, but continued with my training. - Claire

Great photo at the Finish, Claire! I want one, too. Not necessarily StP.

10,000 + steps on the Fitbit yesterday. Going to Body Jam today, yay!

Congrats, Claire and here's to the next10!

Ruth glad you are safely home. I can see that you and Wonderland had a fun lunch!

Mommy2, I like the music too for boring treadmill and housework.

That Mikey is a stud and he seems to know it. Cute picture.

64 minute walk Monday. Nothing yesterday. 25 minute walk, or should I say stroll, this morning. Hot, hard to walk briskly but I see 16 states have a heat warning so I know I'm not alone.

DanielleH, I worked full-time during rads and then was wiped out and in bed by 7pm every night so that was the only reason I could not exercise.

Hi all, I've continued to be active, getting in 10,000 steps 3-4 days a week plus biking or water aerobics or... Tonight will be playing Pickleball.

Ruth, only 3 months until San Antonio so whip that heel into submission.

    Later sculpted friends.

90 minutes highway cleanup (my employer adopts a local 2 mile stretch). Dangerously hot but got through it and didn't end up with heat stroke. That's enough for me today - no walk for me tonight.

    Love y'all!
