Thank you Lovely, Sylvia and CS for thinking of me. One more week until surgery. It's suppose to be a pretty easy surgery according to my doc, and I certainly hope so!

S1ssy, my doc put me on propanol while on chemo because my blood pressure shot up, and I am still on it a year later. My onc. prescribed metformin for me, but I don't have diabetes. I was ok at 850 a day, but my stomach has been a little upset since moving up to 850 twice a day. I think it will get better though.

Annie - Oh, how I love that cottage. We don't have rocks, where I live now. But, I have a house in Charlottesville, Virginia, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, where there a stone houses. I've always wanted one. My aunt has a fabulous, historic, stone house in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia.

    Welcome to the newcomers!

Hope- Thanks for the hug. I hope they find just the right happy pill for you! I watched a doc on Sungazing - i think I'll google it and give it a go. Who needs retnias?

BaK - I hope the week flies by and it is an uncomplicated event!

I've been so busy here, that I haven't been stressing too much. I keep an Ativan in my pocket - just in case this lovely shock, come to an abrupt end while in the market and I start running and screaming through the aisles.

Last night my aunt was visiting from WV, and we went to the dinner to meet our new exchange student from Denmark. He's a lovely man child. Soon my house, which is where everyone already hangs out - will be filled with beautiful Danish folk! I also participated in our State's Big Sweep, by cleaning up along the river Saturday. It was a beautiful day to be out of doors.

Raining today - still in my PJ's ;) Need to get dressed before the kids come home. Love to all...

Karen that cottage is in Asheville, North Carolina.  So lovely.  Glad to know you are keeping on keeping on, good girl. Your danish visitors will help take your mind off it a bit.  Just love the vision of you running through the market screaming lol  but don't overdue it cleaning up the river.

Tazzy do you have to rub it in about the (extra) holidays lol.  You lucky girl.  I think I will come and live in Canada.

Hope sorry to hear that chemo knocking you out but hopefully working.  Hope your doc can get the depression under control.  Its funny but I have been depressed, just down and intermittently tearful for no real reason, since the diagnosis.  I wonder if its because I don't have any control over it and will just have to take what it gives.  Cancer Sux.   Thinking of you and sending warm hugs.

Where is that Kathy lately.  At the casino or hiding from mum no doubt.

Have a good day ladies.  Keep your chins up (stupid saying isn't it).  Annie

Annie - Asheville, is in the mountains in the Western part of the State. I live on the coastal part of the state. I hope your blue days are rare. It does get easier as time passes. And as much support as you get here, it's okay if you take a break. Sometimes it helps if you are not constantly reminded of FC!

Hi ladies, just popping in to say hello.  I hope everyone is having the best day possible.  Today is Canadian Thanksgiving and I'm stuffed. Lots of turkey, mashed potatoes...and veggies!  I'm thankful for the people in my life and that includes all the wonderful women on this board.

Luv...Yawkee 9th floor...yup I think I am there next week.....and driving...well...well...well...driving to Stoneham 3 days a week from RI is getting to be a drag...fortunately most days we travel together. Tomorrow I go solo though as DH is working today and staying up wit our daughter as he has to be to work at 7AM tomorrow.

Annie...my sister is building a retirement home in Asheville, N. C. I love it there. going down with her on the ist weekend of November to see how the building is going.

DH working in boston today so I am home painting and sitting by the fire...that is after I went across this tiny state to pick up some artwork of mine and stopped at my friends orchard to pick quince to make Persian quince jam and quince candy....I have weeks of cooking ahead of me but the aroma is amazing in the house from all the quince here.

    Sugar..Happy Thanksgiving.

OBXK...wow, your life is so busy. My sister is building up in the hills so she has a lovely view. the house is on a ridge so when you stand in the first floor the trees are 30 feet high at the window. They had to put in a sub-basement and a basement she is on such a steep grade.

Hope everyone has a lovely warm night.

Paintingmywaythru, are you from RI?  We were just there a month ago in Newport on a cruise.  We toured The Breakers mansion and did the cliff walk.  What a beautiful place.  We want to go back.

Hi everyone! I have not posted for a very long time but try to check in on you all when I can. After hearing about the latest research regarding TN's and ovarian cancer cells similarities, I read more about ovarian cancer txs. I read that platinum drugs(Cisplatin) is used with Taxol. When I was diagnosed in Feb 2012 I joined a clinical trial at DF where Cisplatin was given with Taxol and a third oral drug Rad 001 (which was the one being studied). I joined because I had read a previous study showing promise with Cisplatin. I met another woman in the trial on Yawkey 9 (for those of you familiar with the place!!) and we both had similiar responses (almost complete) which were hopeful. The response was measurable due to chemo being neoajuvant. Surgery followed then DD A/C (clinical trials inc. full "protocol" of chemo as well). I'm now on day 5 of rads so hopefullly the home stretch! Given the MD Anderson study I'm suggesting that MO's be asked about using platinum drugs for TN. It may also mean the elimination of anthracyclines in the future and the toxicity they give!! Stay positive..... Nance

Navy Mom - I must be full of chemo brain today because I can't figure out how to PM you.  Wondering if you every made contact with the sewing person at the Painted Turtle?  I started having trouble and found I was using .com instead of .org.  She's sending me the pattern and I'd be happy to share it with you if you still want/need it.

    Good Morning Ladies

Painting judging by the photo of that cottage it looks a beautiful place.  Your lucky sister living there.

Titan you wouldn't be calling me a slob would you lol.  I always have to live by the ocean or lake or I don't feel at home.

I've been sitting here at the computer for 20 mins. Chloe is beating up the cat, Tessa is snoring and I have not done one line of typing in that 20 mins.  Just gazing out the window.  Slack aye.  Guess I just don't feel like working.

Well ladies I suppose you are getting cooler weather now but ours isn't much better considering its spring. Nicer days and a bit warmer but not much.  Just cannot wait until summer to get some warmth into these old bones.  Yep Tital an old slob lol.

Have a good day ladies.  Keep warm!! Annie

So at my son's football game the other night.  I was surprised as they got my son a pink jersey to wear and made me honorary captain.  I was so shocked and excited.  I will post a pic of it.

Welcome to our new ladies..I know it sucks to be here but you couldn't find a better place to hang out while you are dealing with this crap...and beyond...

This tn/ovarian connection has me a little bit freaked out...to be honest ovarian cancer scares me more than triple negative breast cancer....going to ask the onc about having the ovaries out.

Aww, KS, that is so nice.  Those fellas can surprise us sometimes.  Hope you enjoyed every minute.

Titan, I will be asking the same thing when I see my Onc at the end of the month.  Although, the thought of another surgery just sends me to crazyland.

A rather drunk man was walking along the street one day. He was staggering quite a bit and made two nuns that were approaching him, very nervous. The two nuns split apart and one walked to the man's left and one walked to the man's right.
After the nuns were past the man, he turned around and said, "Now how in the hell did she do that?"
