Purple, Aly and I met last year when I stayed with her on the way back from my USA trip. I've been hanging waiting for her to come visit me.........I'm so excited she has finally arrived!!!

It's so cool that you get to spend time together. I've yet to physically meet any of the ladies I've met here at BCO, but look forward to doing so some day.

gardengumby, there is a HUGE network of ladies in the Pacific Northwest. Have you not bumped into any of them yet??

Gumby, There are a lot of us living in Western WA, OR and BC. I've often thought it would be fun to get together a group of us for a weekend. My only problem is that since I've been on antihormal treatment I just can't drive very far. If the timing worked out I might be able to get someone to take me as far as Olympia.
Or a gathering at the Beach might be fun. Reasonable view accomadations are available, especially in mid week. In addition to motels and condominiums there are quite a few beach homes, some quite large.

I am on the East Side. Whidbey is nice, the ferry ride reminds you that you are now apart from the mainland. It could be fun to meet some other people. Ginger

What a GREAT picture. I live about 30 miles south of Seattle. I know there are a lot of us around, just haven't met any yet. Whidbey would be cool, but so would the Ocean or even Olympia. For those who wouldn't necessarily want to commit a whole weekend, but would love to have a big lunch "reunion" maybe someplace like Olympia would be best????

Morning all,
Sitting in the kitchen of Chrissy's delightful cottage. Will take photos later and the garden is lovely. Have been stunned by the beautiful roses here in South Australia even right up to the desert.
Have a great day - I know I will. Think I will need a holiday when I get home.

That IS cool chrissyb!
I sure wish I could meet one of the BC lady's in person!
ENJOY!0 -
Lunch sounds good. Not too hard for most to get to Olympia.

Gumby, I love Whidbey and we would visit friends there several times a year but that was 25, 30 years ago. They were all quite a bit older than we were and have all passed on. I could never make that trip on my own now. Even for Olympia I would need to find a driver but it might be possible. About 30 miles is my driving limit now. A couple of months ago DH took me into Aberdeen to look for a car. I found one but driving it home almost did me in.

I don't know how much planning a lunch would take, and don't know how many people would be interested (and able) to make it. (I'm not much of a people planner person. ) I know one restaurant in Olympia - i take that back - I know two - of the two, probably something like Anthony's would be the best bet (the other one is VERY small). For me, it would have to be on a weekend, as I still work. And to make it even worse, the ONLY weekend I have free for the rest of this year is December 1 & 2.... Let's face it, now that we're moving into holiday season, most people are going to be pretty busy. We could plan something for late January/early February and it would give us the ability to get more people interested in going - and maybe find an appropriate place, dependent on the number... whaddaya think? And how do we go about this? Do we start a thread for Pacific Northwest folks for lunch???

I think waiting till next year is good, this will take some thinking and planning. Let me think a bit and I'll PM you in a day or two with some idea's.

Just checking in.
Chrissy - so glad Aly is finally there for the long awaited visit. I talked with Kristen this morning and i looks like early April when we will be headed that direction. Will let you know the exact plans when we make them.
Hope all you NW girls can get together soon, it is so much fun meeting and getting to know each other. BarbA, Marybe and I stayed at a beach house that Barb rented when we went to the Outer Banks here in NC to see Melisa J. in 2010. Then in 2011, when Chrissy was traveling through, there were a bunch of us that went to Branson, MO and stayed at Marybe's cousins cabin at Table Rock Lake (Shell Knob). I will be going to see Barb in a few weeks then on to see Chrissy in 2013. If is were not for bco I would never have made such wonderful friends. On and Shelley and her DH stayed at my house last time they came to see their daughter that is going to Duke University. I hope to see her and Cheri when I go see Barb. I am getting really excited about my travel plan. Can you tell ?!?!?!?!?
Joy and blessings, AJ

I agree that next year would be better. Perhaps early spring? Olympia has a number of restaurants. Olive garden, panera's , applebee's or outback would probably be big enough. Anthony's is near the water. It would definitely need some planning by more than one person.

Count me in for the lunch. I think we'll probably just have to pick a date. If it's far enough ahead, we can plan other things around it.

I'm starting a list of those who are interested. Also Lisa suggested that we might use a thread in the "get togethers" forum called Northwest Ladies" It was started last year by gamafoley but only has a couple of posts. I've added it to my favorites lists. It might be a good place to work on our plans.

I didn't know this but Olympia is 82 miles from my house. How about something close to the airport? Some come north some come south?

Olympia is 90 miles from me. I don't remember how much further Seatac is but while I am pretty sure I can get a ride there I doubt I could make it to Seatac.

Chabba you must live further South then? I see. I am not from out here so I don;t know the geography well at all.
I hope we can all figure out something.

There you ARE!!!!!!!!!!! You guys look SO happy and beautiful together, just like it's meant to be!!! Cheers to you two, too!!!!
Chabba, I had to have my DH drive me to a small bco luncheon when I first had my pacemaker put in. He toodled around the area while I dined in fine fashion. No guilt on my part at all!
