    @marcials1

    Hi Marcia. Hope your first appointment with your new oncologist went well today. Do fill us in on how it went. I had my Covid vaccine on Monday afternoon and as usual for me I felt lousy all Tuesday and spent most of the time in bed sleeping. My hubby kept checking in on me and making sure I was drinking adequate fluids. By the way with regards to what vaccines are safe with Xeloda and the same is true with most chemotherapies is that we can take any of them that are made from inactivated or dead viruses.

    My first week of Xeloda at 2600 mg went well and I'm now half-way through my week off. My PET scan is late afternoon on October 26th which was my start day of my next week on at the 2600 mg dose. I'll skip the morning dose and start with the evening dose because apparently taking the Xeloda can cause acute cellular changes and localized inflammation that may alter how the tracer distributes. Take care. Sandra

    p.s. Apparently Xeloda can cause mild to moderate skin rashes, redness, or dry, flaking skin can appear across the body. I saw you post about a rash in another post.
