well, I had to wash my favorite cotton tank with pockets. I've been wearing it every day when I get home from work/errands for a week and a half! I put my lightweight foam foobs in a nice Amoena cami and got a cheap, patterned, cotton, button up, short sleeve shirt to put over it. I needed something to protect the beautiful cami from cooking, washing dishes and various other spot making chores at home. It worked really well! My daughter said "why are you dressed so fancy?" Hmmm, I guess I've been schlepping around with a tank. I'll try the Amoena cami  with a shirt over it for a while now so I can look "fancy" at home! When the weather gets cold, I guess I'll be wearing the camisoles as undershirts? Is that how it goes?

I ordered this pair of Genie Milano bras from QVC, only $19.98 pair free shipping. The Walmarts near me only had them in black or white, for $19.97 each! Supply & size were always very limited. Anyway it is a regular Genie bra, stretchy, with the removable thin foam cup liner, but there is a lace overlay across the front. It goes up fairly high on the chest, so can show like a cami under tops & also keeps everything in place with no gaping or issues when leaning forward.

They have a few color combos, this is called Smoke & Plum.

PS Even though I am 116lbs & only wore a 34A/B before BMX I always bought the size Large Genie, & still do now post BMX. I also step into them...just couldn't maneuver them over my head after surgery  & found that pulling up is easier.

    hi vintage gal,

I love those bras you bought on qvc! Now, do you put a foam foob in them or is the bra liner good enough? I have never bought anything on qvc. Did you buy them off tv or from a website?

    Thanks,

I googled the bra brand & my choices came up, QVC was the best deal. Ebay was more money & not the color choices. The link brought me to the QVC site. But you can call their phone # & order that way too. As long as you have the item #.

I just put a little bit of fiberfill in both cups, behind the thin liner. I have used my soft cheapie foobs with Genie bras too.

I wanted to let you all know that I recently discovered this camisole with pockets

    http://www.sportsauthority.com/product/index.jsp?p...

this is very similar to the Amoena Valetta camisole but cost less.

    http://www.amazon.com/Amoena-Valetta-Camisole-Bra-...

in case someone is looking for a similar product.

    Thanks

Thanks, Natlie38! I just purchased my first Valetta camisoles and t-shirts and love them. Excited to try a similar but less expensive option!

Hi Natalie, just wanted to mention that this top is a Sports Tank Top, with probably a shelf bra, possibly pockets, but I couldn't find anything to tell you that it had pockets in the ad. Most of the sports apparel companies have these tanks, some with pockets for the small modesty pads that come with them, but they don't work for a larger size, with a weighted breast form. There are also the crop tops from the same companies, some can take more of the weight of the forms. Some of these can be very deceiving from the pictures, I have bought a number of them and the front is cut much lower than it looks, so depending on where your scar is, or if you are concave, it can be seen if you bend over.

The difference between these items and the Valletta is the fabric (modal), and the cut of the item. The Valletta is a bit dressier, but the bra in the Valletta is a constructed, lightly padded bra with easy access pockets for any type of breast form, and it has a soft wide elastic that goes all the way around for comfort. It can take any forms, from the heavier silicone to lightweight leisure forms.

There is a final sale on at womenspersonalhealth at the moment with many different styles of camisoles, including the Valletta, specifically designed for Mx at really cheap prices, also swim wear and forms up to 75% off. Definitely worth a look. I bought most of the camis to try out, some for $15.00.

FYI, also on that subject, I actually ordered 2 of the lightly padded bra tank tops from Victoria's Secret,

    https://www.victoriassecret.com//clothing/bra-top-...

which do have a shelf bra with pockets as well. I only put either my foam or little Bravo breast enhancer pads in it, but they fall nicely and are comfortable. Probably wouldn't work with larger or heavier forms though.

Natli38 - I am still interested in looking at those camisoles from Sports Authority. Can you tell me how they run sizewise? The chart on the page is incorrect. Thanks -

Ariom, you are right, since these are not mastectomy camisoles, the pockets are not large enough to put in the silicone forms. These are however better constructed than some of the other sports tank tops I have seen. I wear the ABC foam forms, so I am able to get those in the pockets.

Esklader, I got this at the store. In fact I was surprised to see them for 19.98 online, because I got mine for $34. Maybe they are on sale now! I usually wear a L or XL (depending on my carb intake:)).

I got a large in this, they are true to size. Maybe they run slightly bigger.

Ariom, I will look at the womenspersonalhealth site. I hope I can find some good deals.

    Natalie, thanks for that!

Do you find these sit high enough on your chest? I hate the "fall forward" I get in some tops that are too low cut.

I see you've had a BMX, I am a Uni, so I am stuck with the size 8 form, to match my "D" other side, that's why I have issues with non mastectomy tops, even my various foam forms are often too large, for most of the pockets.

If you like the tank and sport tops, take a look at Marika, they have some brilliant things and their 40% or 50% off the clearance page is a great way to stock up on $60.00 crop tops, bras and tops down to around $10.00, they re great quality, well made, great colors and a lot of them are high enough at the front for those who have the fall forward issue. Their sizes do run small.

Metromedical is the other site I buy from, great service and good prices. I buy my favorite weighted foam forms Tru Life 611 for $40.00 each or 2 for $72.00, they often have the Valletta on sale too.

esklader, I'll be checking out the Victorias Secret one now, I haven't seen that one.

    Great information...thank you ladies!

esklader, could you let us know how the Victorias Secret top works for you when you get it? I really like it, but it looks like it will be too low for me. I would be interested in the type of bra it has in it. Thanks!

    thanks Ariom,

I've added womenspersonalhealth.com to my bookmarks! Where can I fine a simple, cotton t-shirt with pockets. Long sleeve is okay too. I know I'll need that pin a couple of months. Does something like that exist? I did see the Amoena t- shirt. It looks like the modal material and the neckline is a low scoop, in white only. Are there any others you have seen?

    I
am liking these Milana Genie bras a lot. It is a regular stretch Genie bra with a lace overlay.

No gaping, good chest coverage. Pretty if it shows.

In this pic I have a tiny bit of fiberfill in the cups behind the
removable liner.I can of course put my pair of little soft foobs into the cups, there are slits on either side.

I just ordered more from QVC,

    the two pack of chocolate/teal
and the pack with cream/navy. This one is plum it came with smoke (gray)
    2/$19.98 no shipping

I bought the Amoena T-shirt. It is modal and very nice. Metro Medical has it on sale in black and white right now. Haven't seen other colors yet.

Ariom - I received the VS bra tops. It's a shelf bra that goes all the way around, although band is not as wide as on Amoena. There are pockets in the front, with holes on the bottom (weird). The padding doesn't add much (sort of like the ones in the bras with removable pads). I feel like it is high enough and doesn't gap when I bend over, and it has a nice looser drapey fit. I can add the breast enhancers pretty easily. Not sure about larger forms, unless I made hole a little bigger. Here are a few pics

esklader, thank you so very much! I really appreciate you doing that. It looks great on you and it's high enough not to gape open if you bend over....yay! I love your hair!

The bra inside looks substantial enough to take at least, a weighted foam form. I would imagine that the holes at the bottom are so that the little pads don't migrate out to the side openings, maybe?

I am definitely going to get some of these, sorry to be a pain, but how is the size, true to size?

Bettyboops, I haven't found any regular T Shirts with pockets other than the Valletta T shirt which is the same Modal fabric as the Camisole. I just bought more from Metromedical online too, great price on sale. They haven't ever come in any other colors than Black or White. Amoena has had a range out this past season which has  a sleeveless tunic, a different camisole and 3 different types of dresses, all with pockets. I love it all, I bought most of the range. They are all in the same Modal fabric, great to care for, but also have long pants to match and several different color cardigan. jackets to mix and match. They have introduced another color for some of this range which is a Taupe color. No long sleeve T Shirts though. I haven't found long sleeves with pockets anywhere.

    Thanks again esklader!

Please, don't hesitate to ask questions. I've gotten so much great information off this board!  I would say the tank fits pretty true to size, especially since it's looser. Generally, I will take an XS or S in VS stuff, and I went with the small and was glad I did, as the band is not too tight that way and the bra/hole is probably a little bigger. For reference, I bought the 10 in the Amoena Valetta stuff and it fits just slightly loose (which I consider perfect since my tummy looks bigger now that my boobs are gone haha)

    esklader and Ariom

Thanks for the amoena and VS information. The VS cami looks fabulous on you esklader! Good to know there are options there. I will check the on- line stock. Funny, last time I was in. VS store, before cancer, a young sales girl asked if I wanted a catalogue of the latest swim suits. I thumbed through it at the check out...all bikinis and such! I told her thanks but they weren't my style. I get lands end bathing suits and cover up as much as I can! I really haven't been there since. I used to buy bras there about 10 years or more ago but my body changed and I ended up shopping at Macys...

Thanks for that esklader! I understand the sizes now. I get what you mean about the tummy after the boobs are gone. I have one side that is awful and the other slightly better, because I still have 1 natural breast, many here call it Buddha Belly! LOL

Thank you again for all your help with this! I will buy 2 for $40.00 to try the size etc, I wanted the citrus color, but it is out of stock in larger sizes. No problem, they have a lot of colors.

Might be fun to see if the modal can be dyed after it's getting old. Art supply stores carry really good dyes and have different kinds for natural and synthetic fabrics. They say to use both if the fabric is a mix. I had a roommate in college who dyed all her old lingerie in sets, so she could match the underwear to the dress.

Wren, I am still wearing the original Tshirt and Camisole I bought at 6 weeks out from surgery. They are regularly thrown in the machine, but I dry them on a hanger out of the sun, neither have faded or pilled. I don't know about dying, but would be worth trying if you had one that had faded.

Natlie, thank you! I will have a closer look at that one too. Thanks for letting me know!

    hi ladies,

I'm excited I just got a weighted foam leisure form by ABC, the 926 model. They work perfectly in the Amoena cami and in the amoena Marlena bra which is a soft, nylon, stretchy bra. The heavier silicon prosthesis is too heavy for the Marlena bra. It's so funny how fun and exciting it is to get new prosthetic clothes or forms. I'm really enjoying all the information we are sharing. By the way, I started a new topic  at the request of several other members called Implants Removed- YAY. If you have been in that situation, check it out. I did mention our fun all things "bras and prosthesis topic."

Hi Bettyboops, I "get" your excitement, I was just the same! Finding new things that will be comfortable and natural feeling, is the best!

I have decided for me, clothing with the bra fitted into it is by far, my favorite way to dress now. I still love my bras and silicone forms at times, but most days you'll find me in my Tru Life, weighted leisure form, in either a camisole, a T shirt, with a bra fitted inside, or a Marika crop top bra under a zippered active wear jacket with yoga pants. I can dress any way I like, over these core items...easy peasy!

Betty, I don't know if you want to do this, it is just a suggestion, but I added the Dog Ear revision to my Dx list, because another member mentioned to me, that others with the same issue could see that I had, had mine fixed and may want to contact me to ask about it. As it turns out, I have had several women who have the same "excess" issue, ask me about it, since I added it. You may want to do the same, since you have started a new thread and you are passionate about it.  Just to let others know you had the implants removed and are doing well, with no regrets. M x

You're very welcome Glennie, glad I could help.

I had Mondors too, which is quite rare, but I have had a couple of ladies PM me about that too!

There is so much collective experience on these boards, I like to chat with people who have experienced the same things.

My interest has gone to the Foobs and Clothing areas, which I hadn't figured on, before this, but I really enjoy the research and love to hear when someone has found something I haven't seen.
