Hey gang. Hope everyone is doing well. I have a terrible cough/ upper respitory bug I can't quite shake but I think I will be ok for chemo tomorrow. I'm off on a girls weekend on Friday so really want to be right for that.

Kruise any news from your scans? I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

KT how are the SEs going hopefully nothing to bad. I seem to remember they talked about diahreah a lot when I was going on it. And red sore hands and feet.

Hi Shazza. I hope you kick that bug real soon! A girls weekend sounds good.

I had an onc appt today- blood tests show stable tumour markers etc- haven't moved up or down, so I guess that's good. The onc wants to include my brain in next weeks CT scan because of my fall- just in case. I think its unlikely to be brain mets (fingers crossed!)

My SE's aren't bad- HFS (red prickly fingers & toes a bit -have to be careful not to put too much pressure on fingers etc or the skin splits- ouch), opposite of diarrhoea! and fatigue.

Any body (Kruise, Alyson?) got scans back- good results I hope :)

    Have a good night

    Hi ladies

Yes finally had my results back today - so a week later was going to chase them up if hadn't heard anything but figured no news was good news. So yes scan showed no evidence of cancer but it did show a small mass in my uterus/cervix area 6mm which he's pretty sure is a fibroid so nothing worrisome but I now need to do a pelvic ultrasound which they are organising just to make sure.

Kt - will be sending good vibes your way with your scan. Gr8 the ensuite is nearly done. Shazzakelly sorry to hear you are struggling to ditch that bug - hope it's gone by weekend and you have a fab time.

I worked yesterday for St John too out and about. I'm finding it really takes it out of me when I have a day out working so don't know how you both cope with working and the treatments. I guess I'm just out of practice. The days working at home on the computer are a lot easier.

Anyway off to the gym tonight for some exercise.

Alyson hoping your results were good.

    Love to all

    Xxoooxxxx

How did your results go ladies?

I finally had a great Oncologist appt yesterday so will finally get a mammogram later in the month, haven't had one since before my surgery 18 months ago - but haven't been anxious about it, just be nice to put a tick in the old body warrant of fitness.

Much love and gentle hugs to all xox

Kruise, hope your scan goes well & its nothing to worry about. Nice to get mainly good news :)

Hope Alyson's are good too, but peeking at Aussie thread, looks like she's over there! Hope you're having fun, Alyson!

Hi Ange, good luck with the mammo. I have to say I don't miss those :D

Time to put my feet up for a bit- just finished work. The ensuite is all done bar the new flooring, so nearly there :)

Ps- hope you're still on track for your girls weekend Shazza!

hi guys, I'm still coughing like a pack a day smoker but I'm not going to let it get in the way of a weekend away. I'm off work now till Monday so looking forward to a 4 day weekend. Smile

So how was your weekend away Shazzakelly? Good I hope!

It was certainly freezing cold here yesterday and not much of a day with hail, rain and wind etc with that cold snap. Sun out today now though but still a little chilly.

I got my appointment for the pelvic ultrasound - not until the end of October so they can't be too worried about it.

Hope everyone has a good week.

I'm over the weather too. Really windy & cold today. Hope you had a great girls weekend Shazza.

Good luck with your scan Kruise, it is a while away yet.

I had mine today. The 'warm flush' feeling seemed very intense & long today. I guess I won't get results back till the 6/10. (My next onc appt). Here's hoping the xeloda is working :)

Our ensuite is done bar the floor which is going down on Monday. We have someone interested in buying the house. A bit scary as we now have to figure out what is next.

I'm feeling so tired & forgetful lately. Just want to snuggle up & not do anything - but family & work will keep me moving :)

    Catch you later

Great to hear you're having a great time in Australia Alyson. Lovely to have great weather. I'm so sick of the wet. Nice to see we have a nice day today finally.

I had my CT scan this morning. It all went with out incident and I was home by 9:30 am. I have clinic on Monday so guess I will get the results then.

Now I just have to find my wallet which I've misplaced somewhere. I really don't want to have to replace all my cards. Scared

    I blame chemo brain, Shazza!

I'm sure getting tired & forgetful, my brain is just not functioning at 100%...

I don't get my CT results back till the 6/10 when I have my onc appt- I wish they would schedule them closer together!

I hope your results are good.

I finished work early today- not much mail or freight, so time to relax for a bit :)

    Have a good day

Wow, Reuben just rang with my CT results- so I don't have to wait till the 6!

Looks like most things are responding well & shrinking apart from L1/2 (could be healing bone?), not sore anyway- so that's great news, phew!

Hope yours are good too, Shazza

that's great news. You can get on with life with out the scan anxiety we all get. I've never had a phone call with my results before always have to wait. Wonder what I have to do to get that service Smile Still Mondays not far away and I'm expecting stable again.

    hi everyone

Great news KT about your scan results. Shazza will be keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you and your results on Monday. How is your cough now? Still there or getting better now?

I've had a busy few days. Worked at WOW for St John on Wednesday night and then took my 16 yo daughter to it on Thursday night - I loved it - it was amazing. Then Sound of Music at the theatre last night - which was great too.

Worked today for St John in Levin and then home to relax now - working again at WOW tomorrow.

Looks like the weather is packing up again  here in Welly just when summer is supposed to be coming - I better remember to put my clock forward tonight for daylight savings!!

    Xx

Great news KT! I hope yours are good too Shazza!

I had my GP call me with my original diagnosis, after core biopsy. I had Reuben call me when my CT was clear. Not sure why I got phone calls pre appointment?

Kruise - WOW looks amazing! I'd love to go one day. Fingers crossed the weather improves soon.

I'm away in week 3 of our family trip of a lifetime. We been in England for 2 weeks, Paris 5 days, Venice last 4 days and just arrived in Florence this afternoon. The girls are coping wonderfully with the travel, but need downtime away from each other quite regularly ... when they are trying to kill each other ! Lol

KiwiMum your family holiday sounds amazing. Hope you are getting better weather than we have been having.

Kruise  you sound very busy with work etc. hope you have time to relax during the week.

I wish I could get rid of this cough. Just as it seems to be coming right I go back down hill again. After 4 weeks I'm absolutely sick of it.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Looks like the weather is packing up here in Auckland.

You sure are busy Kruise! Glad its fun too with WOW :)

Kiwimum- your trip sounds amazing, trip of a lifetime for sure. It is hard work travelling at times tho isn't it, especially with kids :) Worth it for the memories tho.

Shazza, damn that cough has lasted a while- hope you get rid of it soon.

I'm tired & fed up today- want to have some fun, but what? Seem to have been working too much with getting house/property ready for sale & I'm over it...Need to find somewhere suitable to move to as well- so guess I'm a bit stressed about that. Such is life- this too will pass :)

Enjoy what's left of the weekend

can't believe George took himself off the market before he had the chance to meet me Bawling

I have my 18 yo son who usually lives with his dad staying with me for the next 3 weeks. It's nice to have him around. He's been helping me with the cooking tonight which has been fun. My daughter whose 17 cooks a bit but doesn't like me in the kitchen when she does.

We did manage to miss the George Clooney wedding - even though an invite would have been nice! lol!

We caught the train out of Venice to Florence on the day of the wedding.  All the Venetian locals were furious at the media circus and the shutting of the Grand Canal for a move star! It was all over the papers.

KT - yes travel can be hard work with the kids.  We have 2 days of vomitting bugs with the oldest - one resulting in me taking her to hospital for a day.  But generally they have coped wonderfully.  We don't go flat out all day and try to give them downtime to blob and recuperate.

They were running 1 1/2 hours late at clinic today and I was so late for work but it was worth the wait, I'm still stable.  Doing the happy dance here. Smile

Yay Shazza, stable :)  Well worth the wait.

Enjoy the rest of your travels, Kiwimum- sounds like a fantastic trip

Really windy & stormy today- got a bit wet on my mail run, but I have a couple of days off now :)

    hi ladies

Great news Shazza!! I'm sure now you have that good news that pesky cough will disappear now. Nice you have your big boy staying for a few weeks too.

Kiwimum - enjoy your trip with the family. I was in Venice 4 months ago now on my big Europe trip that I did - the 6 weeks went way too fast - so enjoy it all. You'll be home again in NZ before you know it. Hope you are taking lots of photos.

KT - I hope you have made some time for yourself to sit back and relax - sounds like it's been all go for you getting that house of yours all organised for sale. No wonder you are over it!! I'm sure once you find your next place you'll have some renewed energy as it's always exciting. You'll be planning what furniture goes where etc.

I drove up to Mt Maunganui yesterday with miss 16 and master 10. Beautiful sunny day all the way up really and we stopped and enjoyed the sun a couple of times. Went to the trout hatchery place near Turangi as always been meaning to stop there. So enjoyed that. I even gave miss 16 a turn driving in my car which she hasn't done yet but she did well on the open road. Good to give them that experience too as it's so different from driving around town.

Was really sad to hear about that little 5 year old boy who got washed out to sea with that freak wave here at the Mt. I really hope they find his body for the family. I was awake when the sun started to come up and thought that the search and rescue team would be out and about again at first light.

Hope everyone else is well too.x

Enjoy your time in Tauranga, sounds like fun.

Very sad about the 5 year old :(

Hope everyone else is well & enjoying life

Yay Shazza!! Doing a happy dance for you in Rome!

Kruise - we have masses of photos. I'm taking some, hubby and our 2 budding photographers (9 & 12 years old)!

Without complaining I will add that we are getting sick of pizza and pasta.  We'd love some sushi, or Thai ...
