Hi Adrie76, yes the cold capping is a bit of a hassle. My mom said my lips were blue when I got home last time but I feel ok with all the ice on my hands, feet and head! I still am shaving my legs unfortunately though
...so no other hair loss yet. I had some fatigue and stomach cramps after first taxol, but have been fine since. Hopefully, your SEs are minimal too.

Hi teaka123, I'm doing the manual capping too. It's a bit of a process!

After Taxol #7, I now have the weepy eyes you guys were talking about before. Have to keep a tissue with me now at all times. Thought I was getting to skip that part. Darn!

Hello ladies-
Yay for everyone that has finished chemo...i however long ago and is on the road back to a somewhat normal life!!
To those still fighting the sucky chemo side effects heads up and keep fighting as the dude effects will only last so long!
I tried addressing each ladies posts last night but it didn't save... really sucked!! It was 3 months pfc this past Friday! Hair is still really pale white or platinum blonde, difficult to tell, and not growing super fast but it's growing. No chemo curls yet. I get soo many compliments from men and women about the hair style...a really sorry pixie most think it's a haircut.
I hope everyone has a good week and keep up the kicking cancer's ass fight!! For those with upcoming surgeries my thoughts are with you for an uneventful and successful surgery!!

ipenelope--congrats on the anniversary! Something closer to your normal hair will start to show up soon. Chemo curls will likely be part of the mix!!

I am 13 days post taxol but I bled today as well as a few days ago a bit more intense than during Taxol and always from right nostril. Is this normal

Dawn: Looking at the pictures of your hair growth. How far into taxol were you to have such wonderful growth or were you PFC?? Wow.. it looks so good.

mpv459, I started Taxol 4/26 after I finished AC. I was still pretty bald 6/6. My hair started growing back by the middle of June and I finished Taxol 7/12. I'm still patchy on top but it's getting better.

Wow Dawn! More hair then me so far. I’m three weeks out

congrats ipenelope on the anniversary! And yay to all of those growing hair. Dawn, it looks great!
My hair is still hanging on but it's more scalp than hair. I wonder if the eyebrows and eyelashes are going to last.
Go for my 9th Taxol/10th Herceptin tomorrow. I had asked the MO about making up the missed Taxol and he won't commit either way. I can't decide if I'd rather have the 12 (because what if I need 12!) or if I should be happy to not have it. It's ridiculous. :

Hi all! Hope you are doing okay with SE. I am officially 4 weeks out. Having surgery in 10 days. My energy levels are slowly getting back to normal. Still no real progress on my eyebrows, eyelashes, and hair. The stubble that survived all the chemo is growing a little, but I still have more of a shiny head. I do see a tiny light layer of growth but it is equivalent to facial hair transparency. Neuropathy seems to be mainly in my thumbs, but fingers are okay. My thumbs are just numb, so definitely tolerable. My toes are doing well, but my pinky toes are both all gray. I don't know if that means I will lose the nail, or not. The bruised fingernails seems to be mostly grown out, and I don't think I will lose any of them.
I do feel mostly myself. The only thing is my energy level is not 100%, but the more I push myself, the better I feel. Oh, and still have the gooey eyes, but that is just morning time. I feel like my eyelids are swollen until I am awake for a little.
Sending positive vibes to all of you! You can do this, and soon it will be in your rearview mirror!
ipenelope-congrats on your 3 months!
Edited to add: Dawn your hair looks great! My growth is no where near that level of coverage. Hope you are doing well after surgery!

If anyone can answer this I would be grateful... Can you have cancer develop while you are on chemo?? Just anxious and wondering.

notdefined- yay to 4 weeks pfc!!
I hope everyone else is doing good and those that are still receiving chemo are hanging in there and know our thoughts are with you!!
For those done and slowly recovering from chemo I hope you all are doing good and the eyebrow, eyelash and hair issues are slowly but surely resolving!! My hair is thicker/ fuller but still pretty short, rocking the pixie look though and it's a platinum blonde lol!!
I hope everyone has a good week and keep kicking cancer's ass!!!🥊🥊🥊

Update: Starting RT tomorrow. Hair is slowly growing. I have to get a new badge at work in 2 weeks and am debating whether to try and go with my own hair or my wig for the picture. Eyebrows and eyelashes have started. Far from normal but at least a definite growth for both. Good luck to those heading to surgery or RT, and to those continuing with the Taxol---you can do it!!

I happened to need a new work ID a year ago when I was in chemo so my picture is me in a baseball cap. :-) (I'm kinda interested to see what my picture in two years looks like!)

Hi to all! I had my last Taxol yesterday!! So glad it is over. Ready to get this week behind me. I will have my echo Monday and bloodwork Wednesday next week and then meet with oncologist to get the final thumbs up to fly to Boston to move my daughter into college. My wbc and rbc’s have been inching down each week so hopefully now done with Taxol they will start to go back up. And I am hoping the nose bleeds stop too. Also met with my BS yesterday as well to discuss my plan for double MX sometime in late September. I will begin my year long every 3 week dosing of immune therapy Herceptin on September 3. I am looking forward to possibly feeling a little more my old self.not sure that is possible, but hopeful. Hope every one is doing well with their treatments and I look forward to hearing more from each of you as you come to an end of taxol as well. Want to send out a big Thank You to each of you on this site...it has given me so much insight and hope!! Best to each of you!! I will definitely keep checking in!0

Notdefined, best wishes for your upcoming surgery.
Loiswb, good luck with RT tomorrow.
ByUmom2 congrats on finishing chemo and seeing your daughter off to college. Exciting times!
Hey Jrominger! I'm glad that Nat is feeling well.
How's it going, DogMomRunner?
Hi Ipenelope!
I have 6 Taxol and 3 Carbo down. My next infusion is on Friday.
I have a little white peach fuzz on my head. My eyebrows and lashes are nearly gone. I've been using a brow pencil. I bought some fake lashes but haven't played with them yet. I agree with those of you who said that losing your brows and lashes was harder than losing your hair. I was confident going everywhere bald. I'm apprehensive now. I won't let it prevent me from going places, but it is difficult.
Other than that, I am well. My blood counts are good. My energy is decent.
Best to all!

Happyanyway all I can say is you rock!! What a special person!!! WeWill be praying for great success for you on Friday!!!!

Thank you, Jrominger. I am trying to teach my girls that beauty comes in many forms. I have always taught them that. I want them to be confident and independent. I don't want them to be judgemental.
I also want them to know that they can persevere and even be content during difficult times.
You and Nat are in my prayers, too.

HappyAnyway, so beautifully said. You are an inspiration and the lessons of grace and strength you teach your daughters daily, just by being who you are, will stay with them.
Jrominger, glad that Nat continues to do well, speed walking 3.5 miles a day - wow!
ByUmom2, Congratulations on finishing chemo!
I had my 6th Taxol this Tuesday, so am officially half way through .
Wishing everyone a very nice day

hi everyone- I am in the middle of my treatment - so you're getting me on benedryl. I may type like I'm drunk.
Good news is that my WBC today is 1.2 or 1200. My MO confirmed that next week is my last taxol. Yay! I don't have to make up the missed one.
The MO is pretty certain that today's treatment will drop the WBC. But the plan is to still have next Thursday and then do 4 injections of neupogen or one shot if neulasta starting that Friday.
I want to go for neulasta even though the bone pain may be worse than the neupogen.
Herceptin will continue every three weeks until this time next year.
Radiation therapy will start in about 2-4 weeks.
Somronegot to ring the bell today! I cried and clapped.
I will post again after I become less loopy

ByUMom, hooray for finishing chemo! DogMom, happy you get to skip that last treatment, too. One more week! It's so encouraging to see you girls ahead of the rest of us, happy and healing. HappyAnyway, I have a little white peach fuzz, too. Some pieces look a little longer every day, even though I'm sure it's not growing that fast.
For those of you who take extra steroids, have you ever "accidentally" forgotten to take your day before dose? I had a terribly bad reaction to the first Taxol, and they made me start taking 40 mg of prednisone the afternoon before chemo and told me to continue that every time. My sleeping has been awful, actually all week long. I've been getting about 2-3 hours a night. My chemo nurse believes it's due to the steroids. I asked the NP if I could cut down the dose, and she said no. However, my chemo nurse suggested that I should "forget" to take it because I've now had 7 more Taxols with no reaction. I do get the regular Benadryl and Dexamethasone steroid IV before the hard stuff, and she thinks that is plenty sufficient.
I'm conflicted. I do believe that I would be fine. However, there's that slight feeling that if something happened and I screwed this up, it would all be my fault.

HappyAnyway-love the message you are sending your kids. Congrats on being half-way through!
DogMomRunner-Yay for last one!
LaCombattante-congrats on meeting the half-way mark!
5 Weeks PFC, and I'm feeling like my normal self. just in time for school to start. Chemo is thankfully a blur to me now. Just looking ahead. Still no real progress on the hair front, but I am starting to see seedlings of eyelashes and eyebrows.
This will be my last update for a few weeks. Thanks all for the positive vibes/prayers!

BAMR--but sleep is so crucial, too. Can you break the pill in half and try that much maybe? And if you would react, you will be able to say you forgot (blame chemo brain) and shouldn't get chastised. I suppose on the other hand you only have 4 to go? I'm generally a rule follower but I would be tempted to try forgetting it.
Glad everyone seems to be doing well overall and yay for the peach fuzz! DogMomRunner--glad you can skip that last one. Sorry about the WBC issues--I had them too. Just an extra hassle!!
