Andrea, beautiful pictures, thanks for posting them! You look amazing and it must have felt awesome to be on that trip with your family. I wanted to take a trip to England this summer, we have family there but my onc said I'd have to have blood thinning injections before, during and after due to risk of blood clots from both the cancer and the letrozole. Has anyone heard of this?
RonnieKay, nice of you to pop in, Happy Belated Birthday to you 🎂. My dh's was on the 4th of July. I will be 50 in August and also celebrate my 25th wedding anniversary. I will officially be married half of my life 😊.
Dune, thinking of you, hoping and praying your treatment went well. Please check in when you can.
Hugs to all, Annie

Good morning ladies. Andrea, I also LOVE Italy. Been there 3 times. DH And I had planned on renting our condo out thru VRBO since we live on the beach in Florida and bartering for other apts. throughout Europe when we retire. The best laid plans.
Annie, yes I had to take shots when we flew overseas. It was really nothing. Small needle right into the stomach area. No SEs and extremely easy to do. I would guess it is like diabetes insulin. Don't let that keep you from going.
Leah and Aurorya good luck on your new tx. Hope it all goes well.
Have a great day all! Myra.

Good morning all,
Beautiful photos Andrea.
Aurora - I hope you enjoyed your evening and most of all hope that you're feeling good after tx yesterday.
Leah - always nice to see you on this thread. Sorry about progression and best wishes for your new tx.
Sharon - Hi
RonnieK - Happy belated birthday!
Annie - When I travelled to Cuba this past winter, my Onc asked me how many hours on the plane and told me to walk around during the flight several times. I suspect if the flight had been longer, she would have prescribed blood thinning.
Dune - thinking of you.
Dee - also thinking of you.
This is gonna be a slow day following Aredia yesterday. It seems as if my brain has turned to mush this morning LOL.

Happy Thursday to all!
Andrea, loved your Italy pics. During my long ago Pan Am days, I flew there a lot and always loved it. Thanks for bringing back some great memories.0 -

Gosh, there were so many things I could relate to as I caught up on everyone's news. I've had a lot of discomfort with my implant, but I mostly wish I had let him do something about my droopy other one. They just don't match, and everything I wear lays cockeyed on me. Kinda funny. I'm sorry to hear news about progression, and I cheer with you at each victory. I love your pictures and am appalled at how young some of you are.
This has been a fairly hellacious day, but yesterday was good and I was able to go to the show. I don't think I like Gemzar and Paraplatin. Monday, the day of the treatment wasn't bad. Tuesday I was in horrible whole body pain. I called my brother at one point and left a message. He said his voice to text couldn't understand me. So he listened for himself. He said he couldn't understand the message. All I know is it started with the word pain. Yesterday, I was well enough to go to the show. Today I've spent my time between bed and bathroom. I hope it won't always be this way.

Dune, so sorry. I hope you are well soon. Myra

dune - who was is in the pic with you? You look beautiful. Your smile is contagious. What show did you go see ? Magic mike ? Did you go with a friend or solo ?
Ronnie - sorry to hear your abs hurt so much. Reconstruction surgery was add on me too. So much so that I never went back and got nipples. Just done with the pain.
Andi - love your vacation pic. You look so young and healthy ( I know I hate it when people say I look health but hoping not to offend you ). What did Dh say about moving to Italy ?
Auroaya - 1st round of abraxene done. Hooray ! Hoping with you that it is kicking cancers a**. Hope you enjoyed your meal and family pic. Hope you are feeling well this evening.
Deanna - thanks again for taking your valuable time to make us a contact list. So where would you want to move to ,?
Linda E - neat family heritage. Hooray for your blood results. Doing a happy dance for you right now.
Annie, Susan, Myra, Sharon, karz, 3\16 and all others I missed I send s hi hello and hugs
My sister and family went home this am. Was the 1st time ever I was SO ready to see them go. My 3 year old niece was a terror. Hourly temper tantrums and meltdowns. Sis only gave into them every time. Its been awhile since my kids were that young. Although we never ever would have let therm act like that. It def put a strain between sister and me. I enjoyed my sisters company but my nerves simply couldn't take my niece another day. Sister cleaned house , and did go all the laundry before she left. Can't even tell they were here now. Today I took 2 naps and still exhausted. DSS were also glad to see them go. They have been back and forth between neighbors house all day. They are having fun. Swimming and basketball here then to their house for video games. Think they are eating at both houses. Lol. It takes a lot of food for energy for all the exercise they are getting.
Hope everyone had a great pain free day.

Oh I have a sort of a funny story. Like I said, I've been in bed most of the day-including while the kids were here. Well, Enzo has seen my bald head. I made sure to cover it so it wouldn't freak out Giada, who is 7. Enzo, however, decided to grab it and pull it off. I was looking right at Giada, and if my mom wasn't standing behind her, she may have run for the hills. Her mouth and eyes got so big. Fortunately her mother had talked to her about my medicine and how different cells act, so she recovered ok I think. Poor kid.

dune. - funny story. Thanks for sharing.

Hello to everyone,
Myra thanks for the info on the injections, I haven't been able to find anyone who's had to do this, she also said I should wear compression stockings.
Linda, hi and yes I think it's because this would be a long flight, and she also said to get up and walk around as much as I can. That being said I still haven't decided if I want to go. Dh just got laid off and that makes things a little harder.
Dune, your smile is contagious, what a great picture!
Patty, glad you enjoyed your sister's visit but glad you're back to normal. Sorry your niece was a terror, I have a hard time tolerating misbehaving children as well, maybe because we didn't allow our children to behave that way in other people's homes.
Still not feeling very well but planning a day at my friend's pool tomorrow, suppose to be nice and sunny. I hate feeling tired all the time, I have to push myself so hard to accomplish things, it's just getting me down lately.
Auroaya, thinking of you, please check in when you can.
Hello to everyone else here, hoping you've all had a good day. Hugs, Annie

annie - hope you do push yourself to go tomorrow if possible. Although is wears me out completely I am always glad I went once I got there with good friends. Sounds like a relaxing way to visit. You can always catch a quick nap time if necessary. Sometimes when I close my eyes and drift between sleeping and awake_ I feel better when I wake than if I sleep a couple hours. Besides sun provids vit D which h helps our energy level and so much more . snap us a couple pics while you are there.

Hi everyone, I've been reading everyone's posts, so I'll just say that I hope everyone is doing ok. Love to see the pics of everyone. I'm still trying to stay away from here a bit. My friend who is stage 4 colon cancer isn't doing well, there is no more treatment options. A friend who did the trial with her died in April, she found out today & it has hit her hard. I hate cancer! hate it, hate it, hate it....
I have my very scary MRI tomorrow at 5 pm, so DH is taking me out for a nice drive, then for lunch before I have to take ativan & be a basket case. Please think good thoughts that they figure out where these stupid tumors are so they can zap them!
Welcome to all the new ladies here, I'm sorry you have to be here. Usually I'm more welcoming, but I'm trying to take a break from BCO to get my mind out of "cancer mode" But I miss you all & hope everyone is doing good. Cheers, Dee

Dune - looking lovely - rocking that scarf! It's amazing how accepting kids are once they understand, I'm sure Giada will not even notice your baldness soon.
Hope both you & Auroaya manage the SE's well & have some good, strong days before the next dose.
Patty I sympathise! In those situations you don't know if the kid or the parent needs a lecture & time out :-) Enjoy the peace & quiet.
GG, sending positive vibes & hope your scan goes well.
It's my birthday today - 43. First since diagnosis. Somewhere in my 30s (or even my 20s) birthdays became a non-event for me. The last big bash I had was my 21st! Had a very small 30th as was getting married 10 days later, had close friends for dinner for my 40th 3 weeks after the fact because they decided I should celebrate. So tonight I'm having a party! All of a sudden birthdays & life & the people I share my life with need to be celebrated as often as possible.
So raise your glasses across the globe & lets celebrate :-)

Hi everyone!
Thanks for all supportive posts here both for me and for all of us.
I am really busy mum, my little ones have a burst of energy and in our small flat, sometimes we feel like the roof is moving . When in the evening they start to play their music pipes , I wish I had an ear sound suppressor:). But I love them so much.
So I am not an everyday`s writer here also English is not my native, so I think twice before I write something here for all could understand me - so it takes some time.
Today Zometa again. I am still thinking about PET/CT possibilities. I found some apparatus closer to my city - in the nearest country. But that apparatus is pretty busy. So I am thinking now about Italy or Germany . You know, it's nice to travel while You can . And I want to see Italy, I have been only in Sardegna - it is an island near mainItalian "boot".
I Wish You all a beautiful day and night (we have morning now).
Karz72 - birthday wishes from Latvia!

Good morning all,
Annie - I'm sorry you're still feeling lousy. And sorry about DH being laid off. I hope things get better for both of you soon. You guys don't need that for sure. As Patty said, try to go out today and enjoy the pool, the sun and good company even if it's only a couple of hours. Hang in there.
Aurora - hope you rested well and feeling better today. I'd like to see that family picture eventually.
Dee - Enjoy your lunch and drive and good luck with MRI. So sorry about your friend, it sucks. It's OK to take a break from BCO. Try to recharge your batteries with things you enjoy if you can.
Kartz- Happy birthday. Raising my glass with you from Canada. Although a bit early here (8:25 a.m.)!
Leva - Italy or Germany sounds good to me. A nice way to get away!
Starting to feel better after Aredia Wednesday. I slept from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. yesterday! I hope to be up and about sometime today to pack a few things, do a bit of groceries to go to the pontoon for a few days.
Oh man, I touched some button and now everything is so small
Edited to say I somehow pressed a zoom button - I need another coffee

Good morning everyone,
Patty, definitely going to spend the day at my friend's today, sunny and warm here and I need a day away. Will try to snap some pics for you.
Dee, you've been on my mind, and in answer to one of your previous questions yes my friend lives near Gabriola. I am so sorry to hear about your friend and I'm with you about hating cancer!!! Dee tomorrow at 5 pm I am there with you in spirit and sending all my positive mojo for your MRI. ((((Hugs))))
Karz, raising my glass to you from Canada! 🍷 A Happy Birthday to you and many many more!
leva, nice to hear from you and your writing is absolutely perfect. Good luck with your Zometa today.
Lynnwood, nice to see you posting here!
Linda, I'm going today no matter how I feel, I really need this, a day with just the girls. Just not looking forward to the long drive but it will be worth it. Glad you're feeling better, good luck with your errands and enjoy the pontoon.
Auroaya, are you feeling a little better today? Thinking of you and sending hugs.
Well I better go get ready, leaving in a couple of hours and considering I move like a snail I better start now. Have an awesome day everyone, hugs to all, Annie

Myra -my boys go back to school Aug 17th. 5 more weeks I think. Italwasys go so fast. Not looking forward to all the hassle and energy school requires. Funny how the small things can be so important.

Leva, did you get any more info on your AR receptors? I am having my tumor tested for AR now. I know there are ongoing studies using enzalutamide. I brought it up with my MO 6-8 months ago, but Ibrance was approved by the FDA and I decided to go that route. It hasn't worked for me and I have had significant progression. I have had 3 MRIs and will have a PET and brain MRI this next week. After that and depending on additional findings, I need to make a decision. My interest is high with enzalutamide, based on the information I have so far. Another novel treatment is to use estrogen to bombard the receptors. The side effects bother me a bit with that one, but I'm seeing a tad bit higher response rate. Of course, I think that would depend on how AR positive your tumor is.
Anyone with experience with these modes of treatments, please chime in. I'm really not sure how my spine and pelvis are holding up still!

Happy Birthday Karz72 !!! I hope you have many more filled with joy and gladness !

Hi All,
My DH and I are heading deep into the woods tomorrow for two weeks to a cabin we've rented for three years now. It's on 12 acres of pine forests and sits just 15 feet from waters edge. The best part, our Golden doodle, Murphy get's to join us. There's no internet and cell phone service is spotty so we truly are disconnecting. I just want to wish everyone a good couple of weeks and hope all the ladies being scanned or actively receiving treatment have positive news.
With gratitude to this supportive group.
Amy

This is very interesting - Another novel treatment is to use estrogen to bombard the receptors. Can You tell more about this treatment ?
About AR I don`t have any new information. I found this.
http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2014-12/uoc...
If don`t have hear in my country any trials with enzalutamide. So I must look for some in other countries but I am not sure they will allow me to participate. I You have some info, please, share it.

karz, Happy Birthday! And Happy Belated Birthday wishes to RonnieKay!
Patty, sorry to hear your sister's visit was a mixed bag. Do you think your niece possibly sensed a difference in your sister's normal vibe being around you, and that's what set her off? Or maybe it was just the attention your sister was giving you, instead of her?
auroaya, how are you feeling today? Better, I hope!
Nice photo, Dune! You look great!
Amy, ENJOY the week in the woods! It sounds heavenly. That kind of environment and de-stressing is so good for the soul, and in turn for healing. And although I didn't tell you earlier, I was really impressed with your beautiful website.
Romansma, I don't think I was aware that Ibrance hasn't been working for you. Darn!!! I'm not familiar with enzalutamide, but will read up on it now that you've mentioned it. Is it still in trials?
Patty, to answer your question about where I would like to live (following up on Andi's comment about Italy), it would probably be Greece. I lived there in the past, and never felt healthier. I'm also a huge fan of Dan Buettner's research and Blue Zones book, which includes Ikaria, Greece as one of 4 or 5 pockets world wide of extremely healthy & long-lived peoples, due very much to their activity level, diet, and lack of stress.
It's been a hectic day (starting with an appt w/my local onc for blood work), and I have lots of things I still need to do today, so headed back out now. Have a great weekend everyone! Deanna
