Hi all,
Welcome to Rachel and Amy. I think I already welcomed you before but just in case.
Elaine, praying you don't join us and that you just let us know it's B9.
Lynwood - Such good results! Just thrilled to read this.
Carla - You look fabulous! and so thrilled for stable and TMs going down. You are an inspiration!
Deanna - guess you didn't get your final scan results or did I miss something? Been away for a couple of days and trying to catch up.
What about you Annie? No results yet I suppose. I hope your scanxiety is not too high, same for you Deanna.
Guess what? My boil is back! Oh joy!
And to all you wonderful friends/ladies, have a great day and week.

Linda, no results yet for me. My scanxiety is through the roof today, been keeping myself busy and trying not to think too much. My follow up appt is tomorrow afternoon. Ugh I cannot say enough how frustrating this waiting and wondering is. I could use eveveryone's prayers and positive thoughts tonight. About your boil, oh my goodness, didn't you just get rid of it? I sympathize with you, I had a rather large one and it drove me insane! What are you using for it?

Annie - Sending you positive thoughts for tomorrow. Will be with you in spirit.
I took antibiotics but still came back. I booked an appt with my GP for next Wedn - I think it needs to be lanced.

Hi Annie, I hope you get great news tomorrow too!

Annie, I'm sending you calming, positive thoughts! What time is your appt tomorrow, so that I can send even more then?
Linda, I had one of those stupid things a few days ago, too. At first I thought it was a very enlarged lymph node, and of course I started imagining mets through out my lower core. It went down significantly after one of my epsom salts & baking soda baths, which I'm still doing every few days to rid my body of any remaining radiation, so I think it was a boil starting -- large, but still kind of soft. Strange that several of us have gotten them. There's got to be some mbc correlation. And so sorry yours is bad enough to need lancing. Darn! Maybe try the epsom salts/baking soda baths???
To answer your question about scan results, my UCLA onc was out of town last week. Her PA responded to an email I sent asking if my scans showed any fractures (which I thought was a more palatable explanation for the pain than progression), and just said I did not have any fractures. Of course, that's left me wondering what she wasn't telling me, and I emailed my onc last night for a more detailed report. Still waiting to hear back.

Annie, sending you positive thoughts for your scan results! Waiting is the worst! I was able to obtain (can't say how) a number where I can call and hear the dictated report of my scan results. My onc doesn't know I have this, but at least I have a general idea of the results. You would think that they would realize how stressful it is waiting for these results and give us a quick call. I had my scan done on 7/25, and she had electronically signed the results 2 days later. It would have been nice to get a call with the good results. Instead I heard nothing until my appointment today.

Linda thank you! I appreciate your positive thoughts. I would try what Deanna said with the epsom salts, and if it doesn't work then get it lanced.
txmom, thank you so much, I'm hoping for great news too.
Deanna, thankyou for your calming positive thoughts. My appt is at 1 tomorrow afternoon. Send me everything you've got and I'm sending it right back to you. I hope you get a call soon, isn't it awful how we read so much into everything. I thought if it was good news maybe I would have gotten a call but my rad onc never called me the last time either, he waited til my appt. My mo who orders my bone scans usually calls me when there is something good to report because she knows I get very anxious. On the other hand I guess I could think no news is good news. Omg do they now how crazy this makes us? I'm going for one of those epsom salt baths too, hopefully it will relax me.
Hugs to all, Annie

Lynnwood, thank you, I must have been writing my post at the same time. And I agree, it would have been nice for you to get a call with the good results. I wish I had a secret number to call to get the results. Waiting is the worst indeed! I couldn't get through this without all of you lovely ladies holding my hand.

Deanna - I have both Epsom salts and baking soda that I will pour in my bath right after I have supper and will again tomorrow.

Hi all,
I've fallen behind again....hoping for good scan results for everyone.
Linda - I have the same issue. Everything had cleared up for several months and now I have 3. Not as bad as yours, but not great. And no bathtub at our house. Oh well.
Annie - will be holding your hand tomorrow. Deanna - hope you get your results and pain under control ASAP.
Lynnwood - congrats!
Elaine -hope the biopsy is negative...sending good thoughts your way.
Dune - love your smiling face and loveable posts.
txmom, Amy, Myra, Dee, and everyone else (brain fade moment here) - wishing you a lovely day.

Terre - that sucks! We should all be spared from other problems. I had a bath and now I'm applying hot compresses with Epsom salts and baking soda. Maybe that will help us. I just thought of applying cabbage for a few hours. Will go shopping tomorrow - I'll try anything.

Linda - I have this vision of running around with cabbage leaves tucked into my undies. Thanks for the smile! And I hope you get relief. Hot compresses usually work for me.

My mother had something that looked like it might be a boil to me. Fortunately, she had a doc appointment the next day, yesterday. She put Noxzema on it and went to be. When she showed it to the doc the next day it had apparently drained itself. The doc could tell that something had been there, but it was dried up. Mom swears by Noxzema.

Good morning all,
Dune - thanks. That will be my next alternative.
I have a bee nest (or whatever it's called in English) on the house getting bigger and bigger every day just like my boil LOL. Seriously, I called an extermination co, they came yesterday, could not do it because they said it's too high to reach. They're supposed to call back today and come back with other equipment. I hope it will be done today, it's getting me a bit nervous.
Annie - will be with you in spirit at 1:00 pm.
Wishing us all a pain free or less day.

Dune,
Noxema? I didn't even know they still made it! If I smelled it, I would immediately be transported back to my youth😀. Your story also reminded me of the movie, My Big Fat Greek Wedding. The family patriarch believed that Windex could cure anything!

Dune, you made me think of my mom, noxzema was her favorite skin care regimen and let me tell you my mom had beautiful skin.
Linda, good luck and I hope your boil shrivels away. Off to the cancer centre now, my tummy is in turmoil. About that bee's nest my dh was just telling me his friend had to remove a giant one from inside his shed yesterday. Don't go near it, if you disrupt it in anyway it's big trouble. Let the professionals take care of it.
Hugs to all, Annie

With you in spirit, Annie... reaching out with a hand and a hug... and sending you all the positive ju-ju (as a friend of mine calls it), I can muster!

Hi everyone! I haven't posted for a while, but I wanted to welcome the newcomers and reiterate what others have said -- sorry you had to join us, but these are warm, loving women who are full of knowledge and are generous in sharing it.
I hope all of you doing scans get great reports, and if you are having pain and other struggles, my wish for you is to have an easier, painless day.
I continue to do well. My tm's are in the low 20's and all other bloodwork is very good. I am very grateful for that. I've had a good summer, and now that I'm on the low-dose antidepressant, I sleep well and have my old sense of well-being back. Reading the posts here reminds me of how blessed I am. I'm on the same regimen that I started in January -- Exgeva and Aromasin. I thought my MO would have me do some scans by now -- not that I want to! -- but he hasn't ordered any since the ones I had in December. I'm thinking he isn't ordering them because of the good lab reports and my lack of symptoms. He has always been conservative about the imaging because of the radiation. I got the impression when I started all this in January that he'd repeat the scans in a few months. I'll ask him at my next visit. Again, it's not that I want the scans, I'm just curious.
I have a question for those of you with experience on Aromasin. I know that musculo-skeletal issues can be a SE of Aromasin, but can it take 5-6 months for those symptoms to show up? I had that experience with Femara after my first diagnosis, but much worse than what's going on now. I have extensive osteoarthritis, but it seemed that after I started on the Xgeva, some of those aches and pains were alleviated. Since early June, however, I have had more of those aches all over my body, and my hands are especially bad. A couple of years ago, I started having some arthritic aches in my hands, but nothing dramatic. This summer I've had serious joint pain in my hands. Two fingers on each hand seem to be especially affected, and ibuprofen, which normally relieves my arthritis aches, doesn't seem to help this. There is some inflammation in some fingers so I take the ibuprofen for that anyway. I don't know if it's just arthritis or if it's the Aromasin or some of both. The hand pain came on very acutely, very unlike my other experiences with arthritis. When I talked to my MO about my hands, he didn't think it was the Aromasin because it wouldn't be so localized, but now I am feeling the aches in other areas. It's not nearly as bad as my experience with Femara, but I'm wondering if it can take this long to show up after starting Aromasin. I won't stop taking it, however, because it's working and the next treatment could have worse SE's. Just wondering what your experiences have been.
Sorry this got so long. I pray that everyone is doing well and getting through their days with minimum pain and maximum joy! Cabbage in the undies certainly gave me a chuckle! What would we do without our sense of humor??

Hi Sharon- So glad that your tm's are low and that blood work is good. I was on Femara, Aromasin and Arimidex. Of all of them, Aromasin was the worst for me. I ended up having severe joint pain and ached all over, but all 3 drugs can have that SE. I too didn't have the joint pain until about a month or two into it. Guessing the Aromasin is the cause of your joint aches. I had one friend who felt great on it and it hit her about 3 months later. I'm on Faslodex and Xgeva now. I find some relief taking hot baths. Some of the ladies here recommend using Epsom Salt Baths and I've started using those. They do help! I was just in Milwaukee last week for a Brewers Game.
Annie- do you have results yet?
Sorry for those of you having boils....
Hope- How is your pain? I've been thinking of you.....
