I had a radiation zap on Friday to my met on my sacroiliac joint. They told me that it would probably get worse before it gets better. Does anybody know how long it takes for the pain to subside? I manage ok but bending over is a killer.

@donegalgirl I am really sorry to hear about the progression. Do you have access to a good cancer center? Don't be afraid to seek a second opinion once you get answers from your oncologist.

@aj My radiation was to my sternum. I didn’t have any pain. However, I had 5 treatments and, shortly after the 5th one, I had extreme fatigue for a few weeks. After that I felt quite good.
Hope your pain subsides quickly. The sacroiliac seems like it could be a sensitive spot. How many treatments are you having?

@donegalgirl . You are brand new to this whole cancer metastatic crap bone mets. I’m so sorry that you are here to deal with it all. When diagnosis for stage IV bone mets or any other mets it’s always best to have the oncologist treat you and decide what treatment drug you need to be on. The treatment is based on blood tests, scans, DNA genetic testing results, which will give your oncologist the information about your type of cancer cells and what treatment will be th best choice to control progression to other organs, Depending on the estrogen, progesterone, + or - percentage, Her + or -, and also the Grade number, the gene types …. All of this iswhat informs your oncologist the best kind of treatment for you. There is so much to it that you cannot possibly decide on you own which treatment to choose on your own.
I hope this helps you. Your cancer oncologist wiil decide the best protocal and decide the standard of care you need. If one treatment doesn’t work for you, there are so many options open to your oncologist to treat your cancer with. So put your trust in the oncologist you are seeing. And share the experinceses on the forums that you can relate to here at BCO. Have a peaceful evening @donegalgirl .
