CC- I notice when you aren't hear and glad to hear from you! The harvesting sounds wonderful! Love fresh apples in the fall. Got fresh peaches at the farmers market a couple weeks ago.

Funn you should mention the 5K. I ran into something downtown this morning as I went to meet some friends for breakfast. Called the Color Run and sort of a give back to the community sort of thing. I saw some ladies in pink running for breast cancer there. Wish I could walk or run a 5K but my feet are not in good enough shape right now to even consider that. I hope you are able to go and enjoy being part of one of the runs that supports bc!

Saw this on FB this morning and thought it was so beautiful. We often talk about our gardens/flowers here. Calla lillies are one of my favorites. Enjoy.

Hi CC, Good to hear from you.   I bet your home has wonderful scents in your home.. didn't know you  could freeze peaches. My hubby and I love peaches, I love peach pie, peach smoothies....peaches and cream. (Do I sound like Bubba on Forest Gump?) Peaches, pears, cherry tomatos, beets and lots of watermelon has been a part of my diet this summer. I have never eaten so much fruit and veggieslike I have this summer.

Has anyone ever heard or experienced vision problems after chemo?  Seems like it is mostly my right eye.   I am waiting to hear from Doc at Walmart.  It has been only seven months since my last exam.

Had a nice rain here this afternoon, still cloudy out.....suppose to get up to 90 on tuesday.  My hubbys pumkins are now up to 1000 pounds, and the watermelon is 130lbs.  One of the weigh offs is in two weeks...and then another in October. I help with covering them at night, turning off the water...things like that.  It is his gig and gets so excited with every inch they grow.

Blondie.....I pray you are doing ok, if you only have energy to read the thread, you have at it, sweet friend.  Take Care Hermits.................

Lori 1,000 lb pumpkin or was that 100--either way OMG and 130lb watermelon yeow sounds impossible, it's fun for u'r DH tho.

I had eye probems with chemo then they got better but now it worse, but I need to go to the eye dr. now anyway. sooo;  there are so many everyday things with chemo, crazy

No way could I do any walk LOL I'm lucky I can walk aroubd to the bathroom most of the time, but I do my excercise for my back and my side so--that's all I can do.

    Lori

If you can buy it frozen at the grocery, you can freeze it at home. I wish I had a freezer again, I used to do canning and freezing. The library, or on line could tell you how. Problem with freezing, the texture changes sometimes, but still yum.

Lori... Pumpkin orange or pale?  The only competitive pumpkins I have seen have been a ghostly pale...  Your dh must be proud.  Is there a state record he's trying to break?  Sounds like you help a lot--hope you get some credit!  :-)

Peaches, flowers, 5k...  cooler weather must be upon some of us.  It was 102 today, and no fun to be out.  Peaches here never materialized.  Usually they are abundant in May.  This year--no crop.

But--big celebration here.  DD2 has finally found a job!!  Now I'll have two employed daughters--happy dance!  I never knew how tight the economy had truly become until it tooks so long for her to find something... and I saw her apply for hundreds of positions.  So glad she didn't have to leave the state.  She was headed east if things didn't happen soon.

Happy Sunday to each.  September should be a gentle month.  No big storms.  (Is everyone safe from the monster fire in the west?)

Oh... Jazzy... thank you for the foot relief advice.  I had seen suggestions of the h...acid but saw controversies over it as far as it being almost a mimic to estrogen, and am not sure how or if it would counter the anastrozole??  I'll have to hunt down the T...   (as you can see, I've forgotten its real name and if I go back a page, I'll lose the post... sigh)  But I'll look for it soon.  This foot business is no fun at all.

Skittle- congrats on DD2 new job. It sounds like she will be closer by, which I am sure will be good for your family.

I may put the HA suppliments on hold until I talk to my MO in October. I need to find something for the foot issues or I am not going to make it through the five years on these drugs. Or I may need to switch to a different one and see if that is any better. I remember the MO said they have three different ones and sometimes just have to figure out which one you do the best on.

I also try to ice my feet at night before I go to bed to reduce the inflammation that goes with being on them alot during the day. It does seem to help! I think you will find the Toprocin creme will help too.

Good Morning---my 1st good morning. It's not horribly hot, but hot and humid still but we did have rain last nite more humidity.

I'm sorry bout u't feet, when u'r feet hurt everything seems to hurt differently, so u have to find something to help u relieve it. In my opinion I'd ask the pharmacist too.

I'm getting tired of feeling like 100, since I'm older tht u guys I won't say ninety LOL--I clean my room, wash my clothes, feed my cat and usually clean the litter box and I can't even do it in one day anymore. I'm useless, wait I don't have pain every second just alot and to me it's to hot to go out, sometimes in the evening I sti outside if there is a nice breeze and walk a little---I see one of my Drs. Monday so I'll see about the vitamin B thingy. I hate going to Drs. I'm sorry I just woke up in misery and u'r the ones I came to complain, people say I never complain but u know I do and I think I'm going thru a little sadness, it won't last I know but sometimes I feel sorry for myself and I know I shouldn't--my brain knows it but my emotions take over==I don't even have a car anymore, I wouldn't drive everyday but just the feeling that I could if I wanted to go somewhere on my own.I miss my old area where I lived, I ;ived there since I was 6 and now I live with my dgtr it's very nice here and they do tret me nice but I'm not alone anymore - I could still live alone altho I'd have to have someone come in and clean--but they have been in such a financial mess my SIL can't find any real jobs --he's in construction, which he has to get out of really nothing is going on--so he finds a job on those part time basis here and there and I wanted my GS to liv nice so the little pension and SS I get helps a whole lot, but leaves no extra money for me to SHOP the way I used to--which I always loved on TV and on-line and I do nothing now.Boy am I spillin my guts to u  poor guys LOL--Thank God for my TV and computer Well I got that out of my system see I don't need a therapist I have all of u.

Well my pain meds will set in soon so I'll check some more on my computer and hopefully go back to sleep---BBL

I am sorry today is a hard day emotionally and hope the pain medications help you to feel a bit more comfortable.

Sweet Camille... hugs to you for your everyday endurances.  We all need to let loose now and then, or would explode.  Just the sacrifice of independence would get most of us bonkers, much less topping it off with bc, se's, and on and on.  Pain makes us all a little crazy, so you have every right to sound off any time you want.  We all love you.

Jazzy... I've never seen pumpkins like that before!  I'm guessing Lori's dh's pumpkins could light up a huge yard!  (The most creative we've ever been with pumpkins was the year we had a pirate and a parrot.  It was fun...)  I'm going to order the Topricin from Amazon tonight... and keep researching the h-acid to find out if it's ok with estrogen depletion...   (Fingers crossed.)   Thanks for the congrats...DD2 starts on the 16th, and is so excited.  She goes back Tuesday to sign papers and meet the "big dog"...  So happy for her!!

Well, off to put lesson plans online again.  Every Sunday they have to be posted.   Figurative language quiz, book discussions, true fun for the sixth grader who has a smartphone growing out of each palm... sigh.

    Teka...Smile  Happy week ahead.

Teka hahaha at least u do that. Well now my DD has 2 pumpkins for Joey so I showed her the pictures and really liked that one so we'll see.

Skittle I really don't know how u do this, I was looking at Joey's homework for the pace program and the answers and (of course I know nothing about this stuff) but I thought of the teacher no him and figured OMG she's had to read this boring book for these questions at least one time and it's about the migration of the Oklahoma people to CA and how horrid it was. Well I did enjoy the Grapes of Wrath but this was not that book hahaha

nd TY all for letting me explode without judgement I knew u would. I'm fine.

Hi hermits- I bought some mums today! Getting into the fall groove and also found a cute little black sparkly tree with bats on it at Walgreens. I am going to use it for a jewelry tree! I went to get my nails done, and talked to my gal about doing orange nails with spiders on them for Halloween. Suddenly, I am in to fall! And glad folks like the drill and pumpkin thing. I thought it was super clever!

Cami- I am glad you are doing better and you never have to apologize for sharing here. That is what this place is all about. A good breakfast did a world of good for you it sounds like. I am hoping you have a better week and agree with the gals here, Joey is one lucky little boy to have you!

Skittle- you are in the school groove again and it must be interesting teaching the kids who have all this technology at their fingertips. I hope you are doing well and that this will be a good year for you.

I am proud of myself for getting to the gym 4X this week. It was an effort, but I am trying to exercise more to loose weight and it also seems to help the SEs with the stiff joints and foot problems with the AIs. Since I am traveling later this week, I will only likely get to yoga class tuesday and that is it (although maybe there is a gym at the hotel.....)

I leave Thursday morning to go see the rad onc in AZ for the final step of my first 6 month follow up process. It's going to be hot out there, but I am used to that. In the low 80s here now, which is nice.

If I don't get a chance to come to the Hermits Thread again until I get through my apt on friday, I will ping you from Scottsdale to let you know how things go on friday. I am not all too worried, given the good report on tuesday from the radiologist.

Hope everyone is enjoying the last of the weekend. Anyone have local or state fairs going on yet?

Cami, I am soo glad you vented to us.  You have been and continue to be so caring and giving of yourself on this site, and sometimes it is you, that needs to shoulder.  I remember, my very first post I deleted, cuz I felt so inept. You encouraged me to come back....you have a huge heart.  I just want you to know that I personally care tons about you, and I am sooo ok with you venting.  SOmetimes life is simply hard, feeling sorry for oneself is only bad if it prevents us from living life and not finding any joy day in and day out....I hope the rest of your day went better...big hug to you....

To answer the question about the pumkins...state record is 1800, my dh's is now up to 1030 lbs. The others are around 1000.  I am going to try post pics, I bought a battery and card for my camera that I have hardly used. So I plan on taking lots of my pictures. Dh's pumkins are partially orange, he takes the covers off during the day for a bit, but we don't want them to get too ripe or else they will stop growing.  I spent two hours weeding yesterday. We got a good rain so the weeds came out easy. Man am I stiff today.  Last year one of our pumkins went to the zoo and they fed it to the elephants.  Guess its a fall tradition....didn't know elephants liked pumkins...

Today was a lazy day, cloudy and cool...wanted to make cookies, but couldn't get motivated....tomorrow Fritz gets fixed and declawed...poor fella...

Today I bought watermelon, more peaches, plumquats, strawberries and some type of grapes that only come once a year...oh and short cake.  Me thinks I shouldn't got to the fruit stand when I am hungry....

Hope everyone has a good evening...gonna eat pizza and watch the packers (recorded)before DH goes to work....

Lori I hope u get at least one picture of that pumpkin and I didn't know that's how u keep it growing by covering it, u said u did that but I didn't know why--Hmmmm I want to see the watermelon too. And elephants eat pumpkins???  Oh pizza sounds good, enjoy and good thing u relaxed today u need to, weeding is hard on u'r back.

Hi everybody. my name is kathe, and i have been reading all the posts here just to catch up with you all. it is my favorite place here, as you all seem to care, and to bolster up each other in such a sweet way. i just love camilegal, and have noticed her here and there, and love her way with words, and her great sense of humor.I am guilty of hermitting, but then i have no idea if hermitting is the same as isolating. i feel as if i am a wounded animal, licking my wounds, not literally! but emotionally! i guess that i am lucky to be able to take some time off from a real job, and just catch up to basic house stuff, that was put off for a very long time. the year before i was diagnosed, i took care of my friend sally who died of lung cancer. that was amazing yet stressful, too, for me and my boyfriend of 14 years. they were friends before i met him. she became very childlike, as it had metasticised to her brain in a big way, and had to have whole brain radiation therapy. then, during my rads, my other best friend lois, a great neighbor and woman who had been living with breast cancer and its aftermath for more than twenty years, passed away, and i found out the morning of a treament, and broke down. the rads girls were terrific, and consoled me as best they could, hard to hold still when you are sobbing. i really really loved her. so during all the major part of treatment, i was kept hopping! more tests! more doctors! more medicine. things have calmed down somewhat, and have been puttering sorting cleaning and cooking a little, with random day jaunts for a picnic or a casino, or a walkk in the woods, with my man or a girlfriend. SOOO, but now is the time i am getting ready to go to sacramento for 10 days. it will be nice for my boyfriend to get a good vacation from me! and my celphone! but i am leaving the fridge stocked with good easy things for him to have. i will be spending those days mostly with my 78 year old mother who has had her share of tribulations in this life, and is kind of cranky, but i do admire her for her inner strenght i dont even think she knows she has. but she is a little controlling, and is already mad cuz my sister in law wants to take me on a hike to the american river. said lendah was a mountain goat, and worried about me already. grrr. i love that river, and think it will heal my soul to see it, you know and i can always sit down. then my mom stays up so late. last time i said to her, "you are not going to go to sleep, are you?' and she laughed and said she felt like the child. i did stress to her how important it was for me to try and relax before sleep, and not spend time rehashing the past, but at the same time, i realize i am one of the only ones she trusts not to blab. SOO, i am already stressed, and i am not even there yet till wednesday! and my sister, whose response to hearing my diagnosis, was to tell me about another cousin who didnt last long!!!!WTF!!! not how are you, and she is nosy. if she asks to see the scars, i will, but only if she promises to touch them. thank god for nieces and nephews! Good kids, and also, my one niece has two fresh babies! i never had my own, but love kids. part of me just wants to stay home and hibernate, and get a bunny. make some art, and wash the windows! thanks for letting me ramble.
