Up early .....my daughter called .....no heat or hot water at her house.......needed a shower for work, so she was here by 6am.................got her shower.....had some breakfast, and is on her way to work........I have her little dog for the day and she will pick her up after work...
Ok, on with the day......wind chill below zero.........ugh......

I'm sorry I haven't checked in for a few days.
For all of you who asked....I never did hear back from my landlord. He always returns my calls within the hour, so I'm thinking he may be Snow Birding. He's good about fixing things promptly too. When I first moved in here 4 years ago the oven didn't work. It actually heated, but the timer was broken, so you couldn't turn the oven on. He bought a brand new range, delivered it himself, and helped my DH install it. The first year we were under a 12 month lease, then month to month after that. I called him after one year and told him if he bought new carpet for the LR, DR, & hall, I'd sign another's years lease. He sent the installer to my house the following week and even let me pick it out.
So on Friday after trying to reach the landlord for 2 days, I called the Heating/Cooling company he uses. They came within the hour and then billed the landlord. It was an igniter. He was only here for about 5 minutes. Thank God for heat.
There was a scientist on our local news last week who said, this bad winter is from the melting of the Polar Icecap. He said, these hard winters will be the new norm, and we will have the longest, hottest, summer on record.

Oh Paula u went 2 days without heat-OMG I'm glad u thought on u'r own and took care of it. It's cold again now and I heard more snow is coming???????????????

Soteria- I think the extremes are going to be the norm, certainly seems to be the trend. The west has been very hot and dry for several years in a row. Living in the desert, we expect hot summers but they are scorchers now and have burned many forests here in NM, CO, AZ, CA, etc. They are forecasting another hot one this year.
I am really glad you got your heat fixed!
That being said, I came out from the salon tonight to find a nice gentle rain falling. Not forecasted, but most certainly appreciated.
I got my hair highlighted and cut tonight and also brows done. Made me feel that much better after not looking too good the last week with the head cold. The cold is getting better every day too, still have some head congestion but some of that is allergies too. All the fruit trees are now in bloom (ah choo!)
Hope everybody had a good Fat Tuesday. I celebrated by being fat!

I finally heard from my landlord today. He apologized numerous times for not responding to my call. He had been in Kuwait visiting his wife's brother, who works there. He said, I did the right thing in calling the Heating/Cooling company on my own.

Teka I was going to say I need haircuts oten cuz of the length of my hair, but I don't go out for them--my DD does it--so I don't have much of a reason to go anywhere---chit sometimes.

Paula........so glad your warm.........great landlord............my son owns several Apt. buildings in the suburbs of Philly, and that is how he is too...........he takes such good care off his people there is a waiting list for his places when people move out........whatever happens he is there immediately, and they all have his cell phone number............your guy sounds like that too.......happy for you......
Cam.....I have cancelled so many appts....my short hair is now long.......(weather)..but have one for next week.......it is going to warm up........50.......yea...........can't wait.........

Yeah, somebody always wants to drink my blood. I'm soooo tired of blood draws. But that's how the docs keep track of what's going on inside of us. Better than a stroke!

Just bopping in to say HI to everyone. I am enjoying family pictures and picture posters. The Polish doughnuts sounded yummy.
I hope that everyone is healthy or on the road to better health. Please forgive me for not speaking to you individually.
My body has been acting up the last week. I think it's telling me that three months of anastrozole is all it wants. It's going to have to adjust because I am not giving it up.

Hi Guys--Oh I get blood draws every 6-8 weeksfor something or other, but this just reminded me of high school--Another stupid story so u can skip this if u'd like (I don't blame u) well anyway we had health class, yes even back then I was a junior and we had sex ed--woo-woo knew nothing of course and never studied of course and I did get very heavy periods -always- so one question we were asked was about how much blood is lost in an average period and I answered between 1 and 1/2 gallons to 2 gallons--I got it wrong and I really got questioned about that one in front of all the girls in class, but as far as I was concerned that's how much I lost. and I would not back down---Stupid and stubborn. The teacher showed me the book and I looked at the copyright and saw it was older so I argued that wasn't the latest info on that. oooo

Onco.....that is my daughter's dog....wish she was mine, but at my age training a puppy would be a chore, so I take my kids and grandkids dogs if they ask me to.....yesterday I had my daughter's dog....she had no heat and hot water so she came here before work and got a shower, and brought Sophie with her.....I had her all day because she could not go back to the 52 degree house......so fun having her here....I live alone, and love the company................This is Sophie.......

Hi hermits- I am trying to get the inertia to go to the gym tonight for a short swim and steam room. Need to get back to my work outs after having done nada for around 10 days. I may have better luck going tomorrow night straight from work to the yoga class (and can also do the steam room after!) Working to get back into my work out groove.....
OncoW- I was at my all time high weight in 2012 when all the health problems started. I am down 30 pounds, really need to loose another 40 so that is around your goal. I am on a carb restricted diet, gave up sugar 6 months ago, and eat between 1300 to 1500 calories a day to try to loose weight. It comes off very slowly, like a couple pounds a month. My blood sugar issues seem to be stabilizing but weight loss is a whole other story! My oncologists say that on the anastrozole, the only way I will be able to loose faster is to work out multiple hours a week of exercise. I just have not had the energy to do that. If I can get in 3 hours total a week, I am lucky.
My sister joined Weight Watchers again and has lost 9 pounds in 3 weeks. I have done WW before and may talk to my nutritionist about joining that again when we meet on Friday. They seem to have the best focus and structure to help people loose the weight and keep it off. As the weight comes off, your blood work will improve too.
Sally- the SEs with anastrazole were not that bad for me until about month two. Then from then until I took the month vacation late last year, it was very tough. The anti-hormone meds are not for the faint of heart, are they? The worst problem I had was with my feet. From March to October, they just hurt like hell to walk on. I asked my MO if I could take a break when I saw him in October and then go back on them, and see if it would be better. I had read on the Arimidex thread about several women who did that and it seems to go better the second time when you restart. True for me.
My MO told me they start everyone on the anastrazole, but that the goal is to find a drug you can tolerate and that does not ruin your quality of life. Because if it does, they know you are likely to go off of it. There are women here who gave it up because it was just too difficult for them. Maybe talk to him next visit about either taking a break (I went off for a month) or trying a different drug.
Cami- if you lost 1 to 2 gallons of blood every month, you would be dead! LOL!
Ducky- love all the photos of your family and the dog too!
Teka- spring is coming and soon we will be talking about our gardens. This sunday is already daylight savings time (whoot whoot!)
I got SO many compliments on my hair today!
