MyFaith and BB,  today will be the first day off Anostosole and on Tomoxofin.  Thanks for the suggestion, I hope this will be a better option for my bones, with fewer SEs.  However, my MO does not think my pains are caused by Anostrosole.  She admitted she was not qualified to determine anything else but cancer to the bones, and could not know if it is bone thinning or arthritis that shows on the bone scan.  I totally feel we have to diagnosis ourselves!

I just had that conversation with my MO. I've just passed the one year on Anastrozole. Between that drug, Crestor and Fosamax, my muscles and joints are hurting. My MO said there isn't any study showing a benefit to staying on Anastrozole for more than 5 years.  She said that if there is in the next 4 years, she'll reconsider.

Glad you're still growing, Iago :)

Sorry, I guess I'm a page behind everyone else.

Stage 1, the really unsettling part is that we DO really have to do our own homework. For many parts of this 'trip', the doctors do NOT know any more than us Bawling.

Sadly, sometimes they know even less than us.SadThis is why I switched MOs.

I think that's why they call it 'practicing' medicine Shocked.

I asked my MO last week if I was her "worst patient" she say "no, you are my most informed patient" - I took it as a compliment but I wish I didn't have to be "most informed" - it's just that most oncs don't believe (or say they don't believe) there are any se's.

Seems my onc and NP do believe there are SE. But I haven't had any really bad ones other than the osteoporosis. And my onc must have thought this was important because I had scans every year up till now.

    Ruth,  that's funny....lol....

BTW, I am eating more prunes, but not 12 per day, like the study suggested.  I tried that and just tooooo many for my system..but I can fit in 5 or 6 a day.

Thanks.....I am still trying to learn how to do stuff on the computer.....now I know I should title the pictures I download, otherwise I have to just hit at random & whatever shows up is what I get! Computers would be a lot easier if I had any 12 year old in the country living with me (probably any 8 year old)!

Ruth I don't know your level of computer literacy so if you already know this ignore. You can select all the images and right click. In the selection that pops up choose "preview" Then you can scroll.

If you're on a mac it should work if you  have right click on your mouse. If not let me know.

Ruth, have to agree on the 8 year old helping fix problems on computer!  Sounds like the squirts in my family!  Once my monitor on old computer stopped working, I took it to my nephew (think he was about 14 at the time and he was hoarding computer parts)  He took the back of the computer, then said ...Aunti I, it is dusty!  He blew the dust off, but it back together and it worked....Never knew I needed to dust inside the computer?

Oh, yes, PC's get very dusty inside with cobwebs and all.  There's air circulating in there all the time so it makes sense that it would be sucking in dust, just like any fan. They can get pretty nasty.

  • proudtospin

well I am not much for dusting anything and usually wait till you can write your name~~

Ladies, just a note on dusting, since we r on the subject....I smelled a burning smell the other day..my dryer had so much dust and dog hair behind it, I called a vent man and he cleaned behind and inside the vent that leads to the roof.  There was a hole in the silver vent behind the dryer.  Anyway, this is dangerous and I should have maintained this yearly.  Same thing with the computers...fire danger.

I live in  a townhouse development and we have rules that the dryer vents need to be cleaned regularly, forget now if yearly or every two years~~

also rules on smoke and CO2 detectors, good idea for all
