ArtyMom, I would think that your dry run was longer than most of your sessions. Mine were about 10 minutes. But they can be hard on the shoulders. Keep stretching. And remember to get up slowly after your treatments in case you are dizzy (I was but it just lasted a minute).
HUGS!

Sunrise...glad your doing well after your chemo. I got some terrible rashes a couple times too.
Celand....maybe I'll see you in Louisiana one day. We have prime rib every Christmas. My step-dad makes it and we eat it with yummy twice baked potatoes. I use Jeans cream that my RO and surgeon recommended. I do put aquaphor on my incisions each night since they are still tender. I'm turning pink too. 5 down!
Dara...great Christmas picture.
Newc...Welcome!
Poodles...glad things have improved since your grandmothers treatment. Yummy looking cookies.
Merry Christmas Elizabeth 🎄
Jill...so sorry, will pray for you. Hope you can find some joy this Christmas season!
ArtyMom...my right shoulder has been so sore each night didn't even connect it to my death grip during rads

Pontiac Peggy,
Well, I will use Aquaphor from here on out and put a rag or something over my breast but under my bra or maybe only put on at night - I can't put anything on my breast 4 hrs. Prior to radiation treatment. Hoping that I get through this OK with no blistering on my skin - I can handle a mild sunburn, but hope not anything worse! I told my RO at last weeks visit that I would take as many radiation treatments that I could tolerate - her response was, "well, we will talk if that happens". I take that to mean that Yes, you will take the 30 prescribed treatments!

Caligirl55,
Would love to meet up when you and husband come to Louisiana - I am not far away and BR makes a nice day trip for us! Looking forward to steak for Christmas dinner - kind of turkeyed out. Will probably have a roast for New Years Day dinner - we will have company, so we will have to cook plenty. Hopefully rads will not fatigue me so much that I can't enjoy my company.

LovestoFly, I will look for something Glaxo based as well - thank you for telling me about this. Celand

Jill... Sending super positive thoughts your way. Dr. Google is a jerk, ignore that S.o.b!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all.

Happy Holidays, everyone!
Jill, I've got my fingers crossed that everything is benign. I went through this a few weeks ago. It sucks to have the worry during the holidays.
Poodles, what fun cookies! I was planning to make some but time got away from me.
Peggy, are you having a white Christmas? We might have a green one (grass is starting to sprout in the pasture) rather than a brown one!
I hope that all of you are finding some moments of peace and joy in your days during this holiday season despite any worry or discomfort you might be going through right now. One day at a time is what we do!

Maybe Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store...
Maybe Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.
We've got our buddy home for Christmas.

Alice, We are DEFINITELY having a white Christmas! Well over 9" of snow since yesterday. The heavy, wet stuff that sticks to the trees and looks very pretty and makes driving quite interesting. And it is unlikely to go away any time soon My DS and DIL from San Diego are getting a strong reminder of why they live in San Diego and not snow country!
Poodles, nice to have your son home for Christmas.
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, and all the other wonderful holidays occurring about now, to my dear friends here. Life wouldn't be nearly as wonderful without you. Peace and joy. Happiness and health.
HUGS!

Peggy I've been thinking about you on this Christmas in a new town without your other half. I'm wishing you all the best from my Ontario Canada for a Merry Christmas and the most Happy of New Years.

Jill...great attitude and I'm glad you have some fun things planned for the holiday. Sending you calming vibes and prayers for a speedy and favorable outcome. Wishing you joy and love this holiday 🌲🌲

Poodles - always the happiest with your kids home for Christmas. Great picture! I just saw Jordan Smith sing the Grinch theme song on a CMA special. Pretty fabulous. May your holiday be bright

To each of the caring, kind, smart and funny women on this thread...I thought this card used most of the "best words" to describe you. May you have a joyous holiday filled with peace, hope and love.

MollieFish, thank you. This year is a happy Christmas. My sons and daughters-in-law are here to celebrate the holiday. I love my new hometown. And it sure is a White Christmas!
Sue, wonderful sentiment. Love it!
Merry Christmas Everyone!!

Peggy, I envy you your white Christmas. It's about 72 degrees here in north Georgia -- the very meaning of "merry and bright." Im glad you are surrounded by your loved ones this Christmas.
Katzpjs, what a beautiful card. You're right--it does exemplify every lady on the board.
Well, we have eaten or given away about 80% of the cookies and peanut brittle I made. We're all out of Chex Mix, too. Guess it's time to launch another round, but this time with pies!

Poodles, I'd love your 72°! But it is pretty here. Heavy wet snow sticks on the trees and makes them look like Currier and Ives paintings. How come you didn't send me any Chex mix??? I need to make some. Yummmm - salt!
Merry Christmas!
HUGS!
This is from last night: By way of explanation, that's my "water feature" rock on the left and the lighted angel playing her horn on the right (Good thing I know there's a horn there because it sure doesn't look it). Too much snow on both of them

Merry Christmas 🎄🎄 to all you brave ladies who have helped me so much 🎄❤️🎄
Hope you all find some peace & joy today ...these 3 are my joy ❤️

Caligirl55,
Your 3 babies are beautiful!
No babies here - my children are ages 23 and 26 - two girls! Neither one married and no grandchildren yet!
Only grand dogs (3) and cats (5)! So, I spoil them for now!

Merry Christmas to All!
Even though I have not been a member of this board for very long, all of you have helped me navigate this journey tremendously! Thank you to everyone!
We began this Christmas Day by attending church service - it was a beautiful one!
Christmas Dinner 2016 was simple yet tasty - we had grilled rib-eye steak, parmesan potatoes and green bean casserole! Nothing wrong with that! Dessert will be peanut butter chocolate bars or ice cream!
Now, my husband and younger daughter went to see the movie "Star Wars" and me and older daughter watching "A Christmas Story" on TV.
I am enjoying my three day weekend from radiation - I will resume my treatments on Tuesday - Friday and will again have a three day weekend for New Years - then back to regular schedule until end of January.
Wishing everyone good (or improving) health, happiness and prosperity for 2017 and beyond!

NewC1--joining the "go get a second opinion" chorus. I am always leery of any practitioner who says "that's the way I've always done it," regardless of medical or other specialty.
Celand, my rads routine was: have treatment, apply Aquaphor before getting dressed in locker room, at bedtime apply calendula cream and pure Aloe vera gel, shower everything off in the morning or before going for the next treatment, lather-rinse-repeat...
Jill, saying a little prayer for you--and giving Dr. Google the middle finger!
Poodles, so good to have your DS home for the holidays with you! (He may look like the Grinch in his outfit, but I know he's a sweetheart).
Gordy is having goose & the trimmings with our best friends back home in Chicago (whose son & his fiancee are with her folks down in St. Louis for Christmas). He reports Heidi is feeling fine, has the run of the house again, and may lose her "cone-of-shame" after her vet checkup tomorrow. Tomorrow, Bob heads home (we're both flying to Midway first) and then I to Arlington, VA to spend the next few days with my sister & niece before flying home to get ready for New Year's Eve.
Here's a gingerbread Tavern on the Green:
We took this after lunch, before walking through Central Park, down 6th Ave. & back to our hotel. Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah.

Merry Christmas to all!!!! I was only able to read a few pages of posts, too much to catch up on. I believe the weather man stated that we broke a record high temp this Christmas, I'm wearing shorts and sleeveless top and it's hot! Lol!!!
Celand, I'm from Starks Louisiana. Finally get to see a fellow louisianian lol!!!
Hugs to all who were always there for me since my cancer nightmare began in January. Words can't express my thanks to all for your support. I don't pop by here as often anymore since I don't get home until about 7 pm every night. Amazing how I used to be a WORK HORSE and now it takes everything in me to make it through the day!! ##CANCERCANKISSMYASS!##

Not sure what made me giggle the most today...

Lovinggrouches,
Is Starks near Lake Charles? If so, then we are not far from each other. Yes, it was definitely warm this Christmas day, I could have worn shorts but did wear my jeans and t-shirt. I wonder if our weather will be cooler for New Years?
