Kelsey- thinking of you. Surgery tomorrow right? We will be in your pocket.

Yup surgery tomorrow.  Just got off the phone with my brother who honestly never really heard from much before this happened and he actually choked up a little when we were hanging up. Which of course got me to cry. I know I will be fine. I know the pain is going to be there but doesn't mean I am still scared.

Shewolfpg- thinking of you!!! Prayers and positive thoughts sent your way!!!

Well today I had a PET Scan. So now I sit on pins and needles. I keep telling myself it is fine. They said they got it all during surgery. Ugh but these lingering what ifs.....

I hope everyone is having a terrific Tuesday!! :)

I am sitting here in my chemo chair having the most amazing day! I am on treatment 3 of what I was told would be 7 red devil chemo, BUT onco today said I'd now only need 4 before moving on to taxol!

Then genetic counselor came in and though I do have 2 genetic variations they are not the breast cancer genes... was really worried about the possibility of passing it along to my kiddos so feeling very relieved!

And... my onco said I can have a glass of wine every now and then and it won't interfere with chemo!!

    Kelsey good luck with surgery!

Hope everyone is having a fantabulous day!

Sorry i have been MIA- working so much OT at work and trying to get my office in order. Such a mess! The workouts and diet changes are kicking my arse too. Whew!

Lots of new ppl here! I have a TON of suggestions and tips, and will write them up this week.

Everyone, if you have a blog to share, please PM me the info, and then Iif anyone wants to read anyone's blog, PM me and I will share the list I have.

Also- I think we need a contact list in case we go MIA for too long, or if there is something serious you or your family need to let us know, it can get relayed. I am happy to be the relay and contact. I just need at least one backup. PM me if you are interested and I will give you my contact info and a template to use to provide the info you want.

Hi Zelda! Vicky is so awesome- we are all lucky to have her around. I hope your surgery went well. Been thinking good things about it for you.

Holi- Hope you are healing well. Glad you finished your rads! Your pup is cute too. and how adorable is that little boy?!

Teri- when is your check up? boxer faces are the best! How are the grandbabies?

Cindy- I like how the 'vote' just became a pup! He is toooo cute! I wanna zurbert that belly! I donno that i would use a name of a member of my family that is still alive. I like using old family names, or funny things, but that is just me.

Chaos- I understand the roller coaster. I am still all over the place. Glad you shaved it- i am sure if feels better. You should find a reputable henna artist and have your head hennaed a few times while you are bald. It feels great and make you feel pretty. Wine wont taste very good, and is dehydrating. I could not drink at all- it made me feel terrible, and even a few months after chemo finished it made me feel terrible. Now I am fine! lots o wine! Taxol kicked my ass bigtime, but i had allergic reactions to it. Make sure that you ask for a full bag of IV fluid BEFORE they put it in you and that they are close by when you start it.

Vicky- love the idea of taking a trip next spring. Maybe the beach? Bastrop? Somewhere we can swim would be rad.

    great list of support options!

Hi Kelsey- Welcome to this stinking club. I hope your surgery when well. In your pocket. Ft Sam is a great hospital to be at. I am an AF brat from SA (Cibolo actually) I am 38, 37 at dx. I had a BMX myself, I only needed a single, but could not live with the thought of keeping the other, waiting for it to show a tumor. My BF loved my big ol boobs too, but his only concern was me being alive and being happy with my decision. Glad your man is in support of your decisions. If you need any specific help, let me know, I have a ton of things still gathered from my fight last year.

Hi Marisa! Welcome to you as well! I am sure your PET scan will come back clear.

    xoxox love you ladies!

    J. - my. Taxol will be once a week for 14 weeks. Yesterday I pulled out the calendar and everything stays on schedule my last chemo will be December 30th! Awesome way to celebrate the new year if you ask me! I am 39, so one year ahead of you.

Funny I got all excited about the okay to drink wine then realized I feel like crapola for about 10 days after chemo so definitely wont be drinking any wine anytime soon... I think its more that I like having the option back lol

Well off to get my neulasta shot- what fun!

Hope you all have a great day!

Cindy, I'm glad Hunter is adjusting! Line dancing:). You go girl! I haven't done that in a few decades!

chaos, if you get achey from your neulasta shot, sometimes taking 24 hr Claritin helps before and a few days after....and a long hot shower does wonders!

If ya'll are thinking of going to Gruene gospel brunch on Sept 14th, the tickets go on sale this Sunday at 1pm. $30/ea. Head count? If not, throw out some ideas/dates and we can do something else. Bastrop? Salado?

    Happy Hump Day!

    Hi ladies -

Hope everyone is doing okay.  I'm ready to take a group pic - we just need to get together Nerdy

    Roll call:

Jen - Glad to hear from you and that all is going well.  I PM'd you my blog info and contact stuff.  I am happy to volunteer as your backup.

Terri - Still looking great!  How are sales?  You should be hopping as well.

Cindy - Kudos for keeping our every-growing numbers straight.

Chaos - Great news on the chemo!  You're sounding awesome!

Kelsey - the first few days can be tough, but you'll do fine. Let others pamper you!

Marisa - Sorry you're here, but welcome to the group

Holi - such a cute "puppie". I hope you can make our next get together.

Zelda - Yay for your first post-surgery shower.  It's heaven on earth!.

August is crazy nuts for me.  I volunteered to be my grandsons' popcorn kernel.  I am currently swamped at work, then I head home, pack up, and head out to set up and manage that popcorn booth sales until 9 PM; rinse and repeat until August 24th.  Then I get ready for take order popcorn sales the entire month of October.  Why did I do this to myself?  Oh....here's why:

Fingers crossed that I survive this.

I too live in the Hill Country.  Seeing the Cub Scout and Boy Scout made me come out from lurking.  I have 5 grand babies and they all live in Oklahoma.  I totally understand being the "kernel".  Sept. 1 I will be traveling back to New Orleans for my 3rd attempt at flap reconstruction.  I have been reconstructed, deconstructed and reconstructed.  This time will be the LD.  Our household also has a puppy as well as 2 grumpy bulldogs.  Walt Droppo is our American Mastiff and is over 100 pounds at 7 months.

May I suggest Comfort as you consider a trip destination?  There are several B&B's, as well as wineries.  And recently the moonshine distillery opened.  Close drive to Fredericksburg or Boerne for shopping.

I hope everyone is having a good week!

Kelsey-so glad you are home resting. Now to deal with drains and pain. Just stay ahead of the pain. I learned to definitely rest and take it easy as much as possible. The less active you are the less drainage you have. Hugs to you!

Cindy-puppies are like having babies. So glad it is going well.

Chaos-I totally lost my taste for wine during chemo but I could still indulge in a margarita every once in a while. :)

That's for coming out of lurking status.  Love your idea about comfort....after all isn't that what we all need?  A b and b sounds perfect.  I think one we can take over, meaning we book all the rooms.  I was hoping we could do wine ....or margaritas.....one night and have a slumber party.  We all show up in the living room in our Jammie and eat, drink, dance, tell stories etc.

TedWilliams  - Welcome!  Hee hee lurker! Wow, 5 grand babes and 3 dogs and hubby...a full house! Glad you found us and we look forward to meeting you soon.

Marisa - what's the story behind your pink tutu avatar:D fingers&toes crossed pup will stop biting his leash grr... Going to go get a harness and a different collar...my grand dog weighted 130 pounds and walked always with slack...only for me...more time in the front yard on the leash...pup will do off leash hand signals in the house or back patio...but that won't cut it in puppy kindergarten...we are sleeping through the night until 6:45 Ooo who!

Vic - ah, those 2 boys...anything they want you better give them grandma!  So sweet:))) RU going to but anything they don't sell? Ha ha our loves!
