Kjones, At the shelter we call it scarf and barf. Cats who come in as strays probably had to do that to have food at all.

I posted a pic of FeelingFfeline and myself on the insomniac thread. We met up at the National Stud museum here in Ireland. Had a great time and got to meet the kids too.

Anyone interested in posting in a new thread about cats only?if so I'll start one.

We now know more about horse breeding then I ever wanted to. You know that rabbits breed then pass out after 30 seconds? Horses are similar, takes them about 2 minutes then he has to rest up for a bit to get ready for the next one. They can't use artificial insemination, so it's all natural. Poor things can service about 300-400 mares a season, which is about 3 months long. And to add insult the mares are mated again 14 days after giving birth! So about the time they have weaned the foal she's due with the next one. The stud fees range from €1,000 to €680,000. The stud farm only gets paid if the mare becomes pregnant and they only try twice.

Will have new pics tomorrow, we made it to Kinsale, Southern Ireland about 6. Tired and hungry, going to call it an early night

That raccoon and cat photo just gives me the creeps. They kill cats. Hopefully that one was staged.

I come into my house set at 80 degrees and it is soooo cool and comfortable. Up north as a nurse, if I went into a home set at 80, I would think they're was something wrong with my homecare patient.

But when I moved here in March1992, I remember two things. 1. Opening the freezer door and putting as much of me as I could in it. 2. Calling my Dh and asking him if it ever dried out here. One word: acclimation.

Smarty/FF- Great picture of you two! Wonderful you could meet up. Sas I remember when we arrived in the Mekong Delta hotel after 5 hours of zig zagging in insane and terrifying ways down Vietnam roads (no lights and traffic rules that I could tell... mayhem) We went up to our room and I ran to the airconditioner flipped it on lifted my shirt and drapped myself over the unit. It was almost a moment of religious rapture... cool air in brain melting heat and humidity.

Love the expression of religious rapture!

I was pregnant in July 2005 in Disney World Orlando (on visit to in laws) - that heat/humidity was pretty bad by my Irish standards. I went to the washroom and removed my sweat-soaked underwear. Walked around "au natural" the rest of the day I was wearing a flowing maternity dress so the world at large was none the wiser and it definitely gave me a little bit of much needed relief. Told DH when we got back to the house, he nearly wet himself.
