kpmac, I just got a port, hoping it makes things easier as everyone says. I knew I needed16 chemos plus 16 blood tests and with my whole fear of needles and I have good veins, I didn't want to see what would happen with bad veins. People tell me the Tax is better tolerated SE wise usually, but vein wise? No clue. I would think it effects the veins too or people wouldn't get ports?

Here's another sage green cotton hat. Ran a little short of yarn to finish it, so I used some multicolor from the brimmed hat for the last few rows. Came out very pretty; the photo doesn't do it justice.  And a big thanks Dixe1 for the yarn!  Shirley

Slappy! I thought I sent you a message! I am so sorry....I can't seem to find it so it must have not posted. Yes I did get them I think on Thursday and I love them. The multi color blue I absolutely adore. I'm looking forwardto fall just so I can wear them. My daughter already stole the pink one. Thank you very  much for making them and sending them to me Nerdy

    Hi, Walle

You and I are on exactly the same drugs and, yes, I've had elevated liver enzymes twice now. The most recent time delayed chemo by a week. Doc assures me that while the elevated values are technically an indication of liver damage, this is totally caused by Taxotere and totally reversible. I was advised to completely avoid alcohol and Tylenol (use Advil if you need a pain killer). Try not to panic...as much as this is a side effect, it will go away. Just time....

I had my cycle 3 last Thursday and while I feel better today, I SWEAR the whites of my eyes have a yellow tinge. It's day 10. I'm not scheduled for blood until Sept.9. We'll see what the liver values are then. I can only imagine how high they are today. But I'm thinking of it this way -- it's not causing me any trouble, pain, symptoms, so I'm just ignoring it, drinking lots of liquids (non alcoholic, of course) and hoping that chemo won't be delayed again. I have full trust that this, too, shall pass...

    Keep breathing...

Mumford, Your delay put you on the same chemo schedule as me.  I have been ignoring blood test results pretty mush this whole time.  Granted, my MO says they are fine, so I choose to believe her.  I think you are onto an idea that helps brings mental peace.

This has been a pretty easy day after a unsettling GI night.  I ate wrong and paid the price all night.  Gross burping and too lazy to go downstairs after the Gas X. When you are suffering from frequent D, passing gas is risky.

Hubby is happy as I am in the kitchen again. He was chastised yesterday because just before chemo day I cooked some nice left-overable meals and put them in the fridge.  Yesterday, I threw them out.  The freezer may be a better option.

Take care and have a great holiday. Mumford, do you have a holiday this week-end?

pinkninja - My eyes are watery too but I havent found a fix for that. My onco has me taking 1 Omperazole every night and taking swigs of Mylanta during the week after an infusion when the heartburn seems to be the worst. Until it was under control, I took Pepcid AC after meals. I also had to give up acidic foods/drinks like cranberry juice tomato juice spaghetti sauce....  Hope this helps!

Slappysquirrel - Iove the blue and cream colored brimmed hat but you already sent me a hat. How do you turn them out so fast?

blown away, I'm eating smaller meals and added Gaviscon and it's helping. It's so gross!

Yesterday was only day 3 but I was in bed almost all day. I hate that out of body feeling and I felt like swollen, bleh. I'm feeling better this morning and am hoping to have a good day.

pinkninja -- Day 3 is always the worst for me, maybe because Day 2, I'm still hyped up by the steroids in the premeds. I also try to eat small meals so as to avoid heartburn.

I'm surprised I'm not sick right now. Both my sons have had colds and have been running temperatures. Plus, they've been generously sharing their germs with me. Maybe the Neulasta really does bolster our immune systems (?).

Blownaway, I couldn't do much after the hysterectomy, so I crocheted and sewed a little. Mostly crocheted as my DH would fuss when he saw me sewing. So I have a handful of chemo hats ready for new homes!

Shirley, my new hat arrived in yesterday's mail. Thank you so much, I'm going to wear it to chemo on Tuesday, I'll get a pic then.

Have a good, SE-free weekend, everyone.

Day 4 after infusion #3 and I'm finally feeling awful. Achy, painy, dizzy, generally feeling bad, bone pain in my legs, expanders sore as heck, and my temp's been hovering around 100.2 since last night. Not high enough to go in, but too high to take any Tylenol or Norco for the pain since I'm supposed to watch the fever without taking anything. Waiting for the advice nurse to call me back and hoping she says it's ok to just take something. I do NOT want to go to the hospital again.

See what I get for talking about how good I was feeling? Bleh.

    Mags,

Glad it got there ok. I hope it fits. I ran it through the washer and dryer before I mailed it. I used sensitive skin laundry detergent. I think the hat shrank a little bit, but I wanted to make sure it was free of doggie hair.

Looks like it's SE weekend for several of us. I've never been so weak in my life, haven't had the energy to even brush my teeth yet this morning. Wish I had a walker, the cane doesn't even feel like enough support. Lew just made me a toasted cheese sandwich, tastes like cardboard.

Today is my bday and the weekend after my 3rd treatment (wed). I'm out at a friends house with my honey and two other couples that are close friends. I'm feeling good!!! I don't know if it just having distractions or I'm just not having really any s/e's...My friends are all surprised and happy that there really isn't  any change in me. I'm just grateful...I am able to enjoy my bday even post treatment!

Happy Birthday, Jennliza! I am a big fan of distractions for keeping my mind off of BC and SEs! Glad you're enjoying your day.

Puffin -- sorry to hear you're feeling so lethargic. Hope you get your energy back. And I know what you mean about food tasting like cardboard....

Sigh. A secretary from my office just dropped by. She brought....bottled water. Can't really complain; she did bring my daughter her favorite ice cream flavors!

Happy Sunday, July warriors! I've actually been out of the house twice this weekend, first time since chemo 3. Very weak. Cousin took me to get a mani-pedi yesterday with our nail techs who are some of my favorite people. Today DH took us to Red Lobster for a late lunch/early dinner. I drank two glasses of peach tea and had something called a Bar Harbor Lobster Bake: lobster tail, scallops, shrimp, on a bed of fettuccine. I wore my wig, first time in public, and when we got out of the car, the wind was blowing and I thought it was going to get blown right off my head. (ElaineTherese can tell y'all how windy Oklahoma can be!) I managed to keep it on and not fuss with it too much. Had DH take a pic, thought I would share it with you.

Sporting my flat & fabulous look.

Happy birthday, Jennliza! So glad you got a nice SE-free celebration. Always nice when that works out. I couldn't even move the weekend after my third tx.

JenKay, Puffin, and Mommymel, so sorry to hear you are down. I totally sympathize, and I can tell you that just putting myself together to leave the house totally exhausted me. DH was so sweet, telling me I looked good and giving me lots of love and TLC. I'm back in the recliner for the evening, DH is having a siesta.

Feeling the onset of dread as Tuesday approaches, and round #4.

    Mags,

You look great!! I'm glad you were able to get out! My dh was complaining that he wanted to get out and do something, but I just wasn't up to it, and he didn't want to go by himself.

mags, what a gorgeous photo. You just look wonderfully balanced.

I am up and down..had an hour an a half of reflexology yesterday. Love this so much...highly recommended. Came home feeling very relaxed and happy.

Today got hit by the watery runny eyes. And you know what? It's just emotionally pushed me over the edge. Ridiculous, right? Don't know if it's because it feels like I am crying all the time and that makes me sad or what, but I am Just. So. Damn. Tired.

Exhausted. Physically and emotionally tired. And I have been so upbeat, optimistic, keep my smiling face on. But you know what? I am wiped. I am just sooooooo ready to be done with this, and then I remember I am never *really* totally done with it.

Ugh. Emo overload. Crawling back in my hole now.

Sorry - thanks for listening. Round 3 next Friday...

raindew, I think u had asked about itchiness "on the other side" . Definately been feeling that and like I'm getting some kinds yeast infection , but then doesn't become one. It's been on and off. Someone told me about vagisil, use washes without fragrances, vitamin e oil. Helps me out.

    Jennliza, happy birthday!!

Blown away, how r the hand/ feet?

    Mags, u look great!

Anybody getting black fingernails with AC? My thumb is getting dark. Was not expecting that with AC, but more with Taxol.
