Help....I have had two plural infusions and the last one was about 10 mo ago. Have been doing great on Ibrance/Letrosole for 20 cycles so far. But last night I had sharp pain in the area where the fluid was taken out in my back and the pain is still continuing this morning. Also yesterday I was trying to feed the birds in the back yard and was moving a ladder around to put slinky's on the hangers to keep the squirrels from the feeders. My point is when I carried the ladder it was positioned right under my breast and last night the breast and lower rib area was very sore. I am just not mentally prepared to call my Onc. I guess I am thinking somehow the breast and rib soreness has contributed to the pain in the back area where the incision area where the fluid withdrawal was taken. You know sometimes I think I am so strong but I'm not.

airlinegal, I suspect you know your body very well and these signs may well be telling you something. Rather than worry further by waiting why not call your MO or at very least the doctor you see most.

Airlinegal, just reading your post made me sore. If I had done all the ladder moving and, I assume, climbing you had done plus whatever else was entailed in the bird feeding, etc, I would be immobile today. Of course, I am a 49-er and you are probably much younger (who isn't, quiet Joyner and Faith). Do you think you maybe just overdid things? Do you do these things often without the soreness? I would take it easy over the weekend and see how you feel. No way I'd get a doctor on the phone on a Friday anyway. Maybe where you live, beautiful Charlotte, you can.

Thanks for the advice...no young chick here...I'm a 48-er. Think I will wait the weekend out and see what happens. I am one of these people that just keep pushing myself and sometimes not a good idea. Have a good weekend.....all

I'm betting that Janet is correct and that you simply overdid. Every time I work out too hard, I get pain in my ribs on the right, which was where I first had pain with the MBC. However, by the second day, the pain is gone again. Just worked those muscles too hard.

And I'm biting my tongue, Janet....:)

Airlinelegal, I just remembered that I had pain in my ribs for a month in November with more concentrated pain on one side. It went away before I had a chance to mention it to the oncologist. I wonder if these are things we'd be feeling even without cancer. My cancer-less friends are always talking about their aches and pains! I'm praying you can get some peace of mind and that this clears up on its own by Monday!

Just a little happy news....Tonight I'm going to dinner and an artists' reception with my daughter and granddaughter. We donated paintings for a show called Incognito where the artist's names are kept secret until the paintings are sold with a big reveal at the end. Some artists go to the event in costume > incognito and my Lainey is going as a bird. I'm just going to be an artist with paint under her fingernails! This benefits the Memphis Botanic Garden, where we've made so many happy memories. The huge news for me is that I feel better than I've felt in a year with no fatigue at all, no nausea and no indigestion (knock on wood)!! Doing the Ibrance Dance, 75mg Style!

    Have a wonderful week-end, friends!

The artist reception sounds wonderful Pat G. Have fun! It's great to hear you are feeling so good on 75 mg.

Airlinegal I'm hoping your pain is from too much activity and settles down over the weekend.

A question to the "de novo"-sisters: did you experience any kind of redness/inflammation in your breast with the lump while taking Ibrance? Since about 1 week I have 2 areas of my breast which are a bit red and itchy and possibly slightly warmer. It is not the place where the lump is underneath (I had no surgery) nor where the skin mets are. Should I be worried and contact a doctor? My next appointment scheduled is 12 days ahead. I was diagnosed with IDC. Could this turn into inflammatory disease or is this impossible? The lymphatic system in my breast is already affected, this is why I got skin mets. Or can one interpret the redness even as something positive saying that my immune system is working or similar? Every now and then during my former Ibrance cycles I experienced pain in my axillary nodes which comes and goes. Since my nodes decreased in size after 8 weeks of treatment, my MO seemed not be worried.

NettaGER - definitely contact a doctor. Sooner rather than later. Red, itchy, warm = not good sign.

Pat, so glad to hear you're doing well on the 75mg Ibrance. Hope you had a wonderful evening and came home with some lovely artwork. Best part is that you have the energy to enjoy it all!

Amarantha, I'm hoping your Halaven treatment went without a hitch and you're enjoying a lovely weekend.

My 6th I/F cycle is in the can and I'm well glad to see it gone. I probably mentioned before that I started this one with a cold and never got my legs under me. SOB, lack of energy, met-site aches in lung and neck. I'm hoping this week off, along with some exercise and warmer weather will set things straight. And maybe binge-watching season 2 of The Crown.

Hello again. For the mouth sores I will look into the baking soda and have thought about warm salt water rinses had to buy salt today so perfect! Also the Claritin I will do that too had to start on that this week cause of this goofy weather.

So glad a lot of you ladies have stayed on after ibrance failed. I finally got ssi for January (just for the month only) since my works long term is still taking forever. At least they finally got my medical records. I start on disability next month. I have been dealing with more tiredness and soreness lately but I have a bone scan next month to see how everything is. I know my hot flashes are back badly and I have maxed out on gabapentin. It hasn’t been this bad in a long time but it’s over a month almost two since my salpingo- oophorectomy in December, ugh. Hoping maybe she will switch me onto something else. Take care ladies!

About the rib pain, it's a weird SE that a lot of Ibrance gals on a FB group for Ibrance and the other two targeted therapies. It's shared by those with and without mets in that area. Super weird but very real. I too have it and at times it lasts for a month and other times it comes and goes.

    PatgMc and Jensgotthis---

I have been reading posts and came to yours.  Pain in ribs???? Please explain.

I having been having pain in my RT ribs front and back for the last couple of weeks.  I told my MO and since I have mets to Liver he wanted CT to check on things.  Thankfully, the liver is unchanged.  I asked the MO "Then what about the pain" and he said to try ibuprofen for it and he didn't know what was causing it.

What is your pain like? SE of Ibrance?? I had not heard of that. Where can I get info on this to show my MO next time I go?

Hello lovely ladies, I feel like a bit of an imposter coming back here when I am no longer on Ibrance, but couldn't stay away, have to drop by and give you all a hug, bringing you a few flowers from over in the Halaven thread. The first Halaven treatment was easy enough, just a little cramping, and slight nausea - just enough to give me the perfect excuse to enjoy staying in bed, playing with puzzles, listening to Poldark novels read aloud and falling asleep to them. In a few days it will be another expedition to another city - Toulouse, I will so enjoy bringing back a photo for you. Love to all of you.

Aramanta, so nice to see you posting here. It's good that you feel not bad on Halavan and you are able to live your life. Soon or later the most of us will move to something else and it's comforting to think that the next step wouldn't be too scary. If you don't forget show us some pictures from Toulouse.

Wish you good results on the new treatment.

    Prayers and love for all

Gracie, refresh my memory on what dose you're on. I hope you're tolerating it well.

Amarantha, there is always a chair for Ibrance alumnae here. Your voice is welcome and your experience adds to the knowledge base. I'm glad you tolerated the Halaven decently, and once again gave me an 'aha' (see above about voice) - books on tape!

Today my mom would have been 90. She died at age 48...of breast cancer. Treatment was so bad back then. I try not to dwell on that time and have to remind myself how far medicine has come. I was just 15, the youngest of 5 and the only kid left at home, and did some growing up fast. But my mother's fierce love never, ever left me and I'd like to think I've been a stronger, more compassionate person because of the experience.

Sending love to all of you this evening.
