Is he/she a Maine Coon or just a really long hair? Gorgeous, whichever.

Merlin is a rescue, so we aren’t positive what he is. He has several Maine Coon traits so we think he has some of that in him. I’m really glad he decided to do the cat naps in the lap thing with me. I had a really rough week and needed some lovin from him.

Besides all the BC and surgery and complications stuff, it has been a year (Good Friday) since my sweet Tacey died. She was my lap kitty and I was really missing her. But it was like Merlin knew. He’s barely left my side since I’ve been home. ❤️❤️

Wren and Pearl came home Friday afternoon with pain meds if needed. They said I could give it twice a day, but I've just given it at night. Pearl acts a little more sore than Wren, and wants to cuddle.

Wren acts like nothing bothers her

And Finn is happy everything is back to normal

My all black rescue cat. She started out as a foster like 12 years ago, but we couldn’t get her adopted. She had cage aggression. She’s a big softy though. She even likesmy toddler. image

My all black rescue kitty Merlin. He’s a sweetheart. But he sites when he plays! (Actually, he does have some grey in him too, but still) see the pretty white fangsimage

Went by the shelter to pick up meds for my fospice kitty. 4 cats were being adopted while I was there, including Doo-Dad-Diddly-Bop-Thing. I hope his adopters are ready to play with him a lot.

Even better: While I was at the shelter yesterday, the team lead pointed out a cat who had just come in at 2pm. He said she had scarfed all the food and then went sound asleep. He believed she wasn't found of being on the streets and finally felt safe. At 4pm the cat's caretaker came in 'just hoping' she was there. When she was the caretaker burst into tears of relief. The kitty's name was Cornflake. I just love the perfect endings.

She is lovely. It's a shame how difficult it is to get a good photo.

Just wanted to thank all you kind people for sharing the pix of your kitties. I lost mine to a kidney problem a while ago and still miss her very much. I'm not in a position to get myself a new little one so this thread helps fill a void. I especially love the little black kitties. They remind me so much of mine. Thanks!

Sorry for your loss KayaRose. We get it on here just how strong the bond is and how strong the grief is.

Last year just before Easter I lost my Persian, Tacey, to kidney disease. She was 16 and was a sweet companion. Two years ago I rescued my vampire cat, Merlin, and he has been a great help.

When Tacey died I was pretty distraught. I cried for months. I had her cremated so I could always have her with me. When I finally got to the point where I could, I sent her ashes in to have a memorial piece made. It takes about 2 months to get them back usually but the artist wasn’t on vacation so it took a bit longer. I was diagnosed with cancer and had my BMX and the DAY I got home from surgery there was this box in the mail. My memorial came home for me when I needed her most.

I can’t begin to tell you what that meant to me. Timing was amazing on that. I couldn’t lift it at the time, it’s too heavy, but I could hold it. It was like Tacey knew and waited to come home when I needed her most. So now I have her ashes in her carved wooden box, and a beautiful memorial piece that I can now hold to remember her.

imageThis is my Tree of Life Glass memorial. The white at the base is the tree are the ashes they used to blow into the glass.

Wren, the timing of the arrival of that piece could not have been more perfect. I needed her right then, and there she was.
