I picked up insulin at Costco yesterday. They included a flyer about their lower cost insulin and that pets can join their pharmaceutical club.

Wrenn sit down before you read this.

Ok cat moms. I’m thinking about getting a kitten this summer. Can’t do now, as I have to be out of town for a week or so, dogs will travel with me. Spookie is 11, Kris is 10. I have no idea how they would react to a kitten. Do you all think they are too old to accept and adapt?

Which is more playful, boy or girl? Which likes to snuggle? Just looking for some preliminary advice.

Almost no way to tell how a kitten will turn out. By the time they're one, you have an idea of whether they like to snuggle. All kittens are playful. That's why they often say you should get two so they can play together when you're bushed. Summer is a good time to look. Kittens are sort of seasonal. Mom's have them in the summer when it's warm. You're in FL so it may be less seasonal there. If your dogs are fairly mellow, they should adjust OK. A really nervous dog might not welcome a kitten at all. It should be a slow introduction either way. One of our dogs convinced the kitten he was a puppy, so we had the world's doggiest kitten.

Yeah I'm not trying to be a kitten pusher, but consider two. They do a great job of entertaining each other and if your pups don't like them, they won't be lonely.

That is exciting. I do wish we had brought home one of Louie's brothers, but they would definitely gang up on poor Felix.

Naughty Stevie wanted to investigate the daffodils, which of course she cannot as they are poisonous to cats.

Regarding spookiesmom's question. I have the impression that boy kittens do more wild, scrappy, attack mode play. Right or wrong?

My Shittens are female and get up to as much stuff as my boys did when they were kittens. Sometimes it's hilarious :D

Wally is not doing as well as I would like. And he's viciously attacked little Annie twice on Sunday, as in I was afraid she would be truly injured. Right now I'm not seeing a good solution. I can't rehome him, I can't rehome Annie :(

They will all four be at the vet's starting tomorrow as we're out of town for a tiny, much needed break. I've asked the vet to take the next steps in checking out Wally (x-rays, maybe ultrasound). Something is wrong; he's a grumpy old cat but he never was like this before.

Sorry to hear that edj3. I hope he calms down and that your vet can help.

Sorry to hear about that Edj3. I am thankful Wally lives with such a perceptive human. I hope the vet can determine the underlying cause.

edj3, Sometimes my grumpy old cat gets along with Louie. Other times she is mean. Louie has gotten to the point he is mean to her. I had to break them up this morning. It was an all out cat fight. I hope it can work out for you and the cats. Louie has to go into "time out" when he gets too rough. Maybe that would work for Wally.

We seem to have had a dearth of cat photos lately. Here's our Sheila enjoying a nice sunny spring day, all the while blocking access to the refrigerator to everyone else!

BLMike, Sheila looks so soft and cuddly.

ff, Elliott is looking regal. Alannah can stretch. Midnight Louie used to look like he was 3' long and 2" wide.
