Hello, i am 25years old. Does anyone know if dimples on breast skin can be benign? I have ductal ectasia, a fibroadenoma and cysts on my right breast and when i squeeze it, 2 dimples appear. I am really scared. I have an appointment for an ultrasound next week and all i can i find on the internet says about cancer.... I thought i was too young to be afraid about it now.. Does anyone have dimples associated with benign conditions>?

    hi Aliciado,

I have what is considered flattening as well as dimpling in my left breast only. I have a ultra sound, mammogram as well as an MRI. I also met with a breast specialist. Everything came back B9. My breast issues is from lazy ligaments and to much estrogen. So even though there is like zero information about B9 breast dimples on the internet I can with confidence say yes there is. I hope this eases your fear and worry. It's always best to have it checked out because you never know until you know. Best of luck and fingers crossed for you to have a B9 result

Thank you so much Bellefleur! I actually realised i have 5 dimples in the same breast.. with different sizes that vary from 2cm to 0,5cm. I have an appointment in a few days for an ultrasound so we'll see.. Do your dimples have these sizes?

yes there are all different. The specialist said if it weren't for all these tests coming back clear he said it looked like a strong case of concern for cancer. I'm glad your getting checked out. It's hard to feel right when there are questions lingering. I hope you get answers quickly

I did an ulstrasound and they didn't find anything. I must say the doctor who did this was very good. He didn't say what are these dimples, but he said that they would be bad sign only if i didn't have to squeeze my breasts to see them. They should be visible with my hands above my head or by standing in a normal position. Should i be relieved by this?

I'd say yes. But if you are still worried take a picture of it every month with the same lighting and with something to compare size like a stick and that way you monitor it for a bit and if there are no changes then that might make you feel more confident that your breasts are health and safe. I'm happy for you that you had a clean Ultrasound

Thank you for your help and answers. Can i also ask if your dimples showed when you kinda squeezed your breasts or they appear in a normal standing position?

I could only see mine as I started to raise my arm. Most clearly visible when hand on my head. But I do get some dimpling when I try and squeeze them into a to small bra. And no problem. The reason I've stayed on this site is so that there is some positive information for people like us that only seem to find the worst case scenario which only feeds the worry until it gets figured out

I have had a lump on my breast develop, and have had 2 US and both radiologist and BC specialist think it's fibrocystic. BC specialist has no explanation for why I had an indent in my breast near the lump, she said it can't be caused by Fibrocystic. But is adamant it's not anything to worry about. Its a terrible feeling being told not to worry when you feel things are so different. I have a follow up US in a month or so.

I think it's fine to push until you get answers, I don't have to squeeze my breast to have an indentation, its there when my arms are down, but not when they are raised.

Apparently benign conditions just happen and we are expected to just live with them.

    So frustrating.

Hello again, i also did another US and nothing was found under the dimples, except a benign fibroadenoma, so the doctor said it is possible to be something like cellulite since the breast has fat tissue too.. (?) I only see the dimples when i squeeze my breasts like it happens on my feet where i have cellulite.. so yeah i guess benign conditions CAN exist :) This doctor is very good so i trust him.
