mocambe and Kamboka, wishing you both good health.

The TP shortage is here, as well. The girl at Publix said people have the kids home for 2 weeks and stacking up on everything and they are afraid of lock down. Snacks were gone, eggs gone, hot dog buns gone. It was crazy trying to shop. People had 2 carts full of stuff.

mocame: I hope you have an uneventful procedure tomorrow. Let us know how you are doing. My procedure for Wednesday was cancelled. When this is all over, the hospitals will be so full of people trying to do elective procedures. Booking will be a nightmare. So far, my mammogram is still on track for the 30th.

petite1: I had to go to CVS for my prescription today. I thought I'd pick up some toilet paper since the manager said a shipment would be in today. I got there at 1100 and it was all gone. He said a second shipment would be there later in the day but I didn't go back. I have enough for a few weeks. They closed our restaurants today except for takeaway. Many of the restaurants around my place were just closed. One place was not even allowing people inside but taking online orders and delivering out the door.

Well, my surgery was postponed until Wednesday. I got a call that my surgeon's colleague just got back from vacation and has to be quarantined for 2 weeks so my surgeon has to do his own patients and his colleague's patients as well and they had to rearrange the schedule. I got a call later yesterday from the surgical center asking if I had any respiratory symptoms and GI symptoms. They have had a lot of surgeries cancelled because of that but I am the first surgery of the day tomorrow so my surgery time won't change. They are limiting the amount of people to come with the patient. I can only bring my husband and my daughter can't come with me now. Everyone walking in the door will get their temperature taken and if anyone walking in the door has any cough/sneezing, even if they aren't sick, will have to wear a mask.

My daughter did my grocery shopping for me yesterday but couldn't go until the afternoon because her car was getting worked on. She went to 2 grocery stores and couldn't find everything on the list and had to substitute about 75% of the items with other things or brands. Now these are things I buy almost every week and never have a problem getting them! When I got home from work I went to a 3rd store to see if I could find the items. So stressful! I felt stressed out and panicky just being there! Empty shelves, empty meat cases! I found one thing that I needed but I needed 2 lbs of ground turkey. No turkey in the store. Only a couple packages of chicken legs left, an okay amount of beef products were left and so I got the last 2 of 3 one pound packages of ground pork. I hope that works. I wanted to get a dozen of eggs and there were only 3 carton left... ON SALE AT $5.50 each! WHAT?! I left without them. I'm not paying that much for a dozen of eggs. Then the plastic grocery bags were almost gone at the check register I used (after waiting in line for a while). I said something to the girl working there and she said yes (in a stressed tone), we just got a shipment in right now. That's when I noticed a cart full of boxes of plastic bags she had just wheeled up to start restock. Craziness!

What a stressful time! I'm so sorry you had to get postponed and then experience this craziness that exists now with shopping. I was going to the supermarket last weekend but didn't want to stand in line. I'll try again on Saturday or Sunday. A relative thought the store would be less crowded around church time last Sunday, only to find out that churches had been cancelled and the supermarket was a mad house.

I keep holding my breath waiting for them to cancel my mammogram. I really hope not since I'm feeling several lumps and I want to know for sure what that means.

I hope your procedure goes well tomorrow. Going first in the morning is the best time. Let us know how it goes.

Good morning. My eye doctor and dental appointments have all been cancelled. They are just check ups.

    How did the procedure go?

    mocame Member Posts: 567

Hello! Well, the procedure went well. I'm sore and I have a sore throat and groggy voice from the tube they put down my throat. But I'm getting around better today, so Yay! Now I'm just dealing with being at home with the whole family, including a grouchy teenager. Ugh! LOL! I'm very fortunate because after I got home yesterday from surgery, I found out the hospital.had canceled all non-essential surgeries starting today.

mocame: So glad to hear that you did well with the procedure. You are so lucky that you just made it before they stopped. I hope each day will bring less soreness and that you don't have any complications.

petite1: Sorry your routine exams got cancelled. I'm holding my breath to see if I can still do my mammogram on the 30th. After this is over, the wait times to get an appointment or a procedure done, will be crazy long. I was hoping they would continue some routine visits as long as it's not invasive.

Today, I was stir-crazy and decided to walk to my office to pick up some supplies. Good I did it today since we got a memo later saying that no one was allowed to go to the office without the Director's approval. There were quite a few people on the streets but all the shops were closed. It was around lunchtime and a handful of folks were getting carryout food at the restaurants. They weren't allowing people inside though.

I ordered my groceries today and so glad I thought to do that. The next available time for a delivery is on Sunday the 29th! Normally, I can get the groceries the next day.

Kamboka - Yes, things change so quickly. Did you ever get your pap smear results?

Petite1: - I'm sorry your appointments were cancelled. We having some routine appointments coming up too and awaiting to hear if they are still on or not.

mocambe, I am glad it went well.

I hope everyone stays safe. I have been working on projects. I even got out the sewing machine and did some alterations. My husband lost over 30 pounds on Keto and I have been taking up shirts.

    Kamboka, any results yet?

mocame: Hope you are feeling well today.

Yes, on Monday my NP got back from vacation and called me. She said it was negative but showed some bacterial cells. I don't have any symptoms of an infection so she said we wouldn't do anything. I guess I'll have to wait months before the endometrial biopsy since all elective surgeries are cancelled. I just hope I can do my mammogram.

petite1: Why do men lose weight so fast? :) I was doing good on my eating plan and now I'm worried that I will start to "comfort' eat since I'm home all day and bored. I did good this week but not sure how many weeks I can go before turning to some nice salty sweet treats.

Kamboka, I am afraid he will gain it back. He is munching not too healthy foods since our routine has been disrupted.

petite1: I had to get out of the apartment today so I walked down to the McDonald's. I need to stay away for my old addictive bad comfort food.

Kamboka, I have been walking all over my neighborhood. Gives me the much needed exercise and something to do.

    mocame, how are you?

Hello! I am doing okay. I'm getting around better each day but still have quick shot of pain depending on how I move but I'm down to taking 1 Tylenol every 4 hours or so. I'm trying to decide when I should go back to work. I'm leaning toward Wednesday but we will see. I need to send my daughter to the grocery stores tomorrow before I go back to work because if I would go after work, there isn't much left on the shelves that I need. I'm trying to stay at home as much as possible except for work and to get some ingredients and supplies you have to go right away in the morning after they open and I can't because I work! Frustrating. My daughter is going back to college at the end of this week so it will be harder for me to get things after that. I still don't have ANY disinfecting wipes and limited hand sanitizer.

    kamboka Member Posts: 1,086

mocame: Don't rush back to work if you can. You are still recuperating. Is it possible to take the entire week off? Not sure what State your daughter goes to college but more and more States are closing down everything. I don't want her to miss school but they might close and then she can still be with you.

I know you can made sanitizer with aloe and alcohol. I've been seeing that on the internet. I have lots of aloe from my rads days. I did order some spray sanitize from the goat milk company I get my soap from. Since I don't go out much, I don't have much of a use for it. I do a lot of simple hand washing inside my house.

I started ordering grocery delivery when I was in chemo last year. Normally, they can deliver the next day. I ordered on Friday and they won't be able to deliver until the 29th. I only go to the CVS to pick up a few things and haven't venutred to the real grocery store yet.

Goodness, the world is crazy now! I hope all of you are well. I assume procedures of yours have been postponed. I've been busy sorting out work and lack of work and being home and worrying about everyone. I've settled into being off work and it looks like I won't have work for three more weeks.

Stay as healthy as you can and I'll be saying prayers for each of you and sending positive thoughts. In the meantime, here is a pretty Colorado view.

Oh gosh, I missed a whole page of your messages. My apologies. Mocame: I’m glad you got your procedure completed and are doing well!
    Hang in there everyone.

Good morning, everyone. I actually have a follow up appointment with SO. All my other appointments have cancelled.

    kamboka Member Posts: 1,086

TeriJ: Thanks for the lovely photo. Oh how I wish I were in that scene in person! I hope you are doing well. I'm teleworking so it's just as busy as going to the office since I have no distractions--like talking to co-workers.

petite1: At least you got your SO appointment. It's going to be crazy trying to schedule when this is over. I still haven't heard anything about my mammogram for next Monday. The hospital is not known for being proactive or informative so I'll just have to call the day before.

    mocame: How are you today?

Good morning, all. SO said I am healing well and never have to come back. YAY

TeriJ - That is beautiful! Would love to look at that everyday!

Petite1 - Yay! Congratulations! I'm so happy for you!

Kamboka - I hope you hear about your mammogram soon. I heard on Monday that all the doctor offices related to my hospital are combining forces and in some cases relocating temporarily and most unnecessary appointments are cancelled. But yours isn't exactly a "normal" mammogram appointment so maybe you can still get it?

I'm filling pretty good right now. Not 100% but I'm doing most of my normal things. I will be going back to work tomorrow but still taking it easy. I usually have a 5 minute walk from where I have to park until I get to my office so they are letting me park in a parking lot close to the building where my office is. My coworkers already told me that they are going to make sure I behave and no overdo it. :) My husband is self-employed and can't work right now because only life-essential businesses are allowed to be open so hopefully he will try learning how to cook dinner and grocery shop when I am working. LOL! My daughter is going back to her apartment at college this weekend. She has one online class right now and then they officially start online classes for the rest on Monday for the rest of the semester. I'm not sure that she will stay in her apartment the rest of the semester, though. Only one of her roommates is actually coming back. My son's senior year of high school is also online for an unknown length of time. I feel bad for these kids. It was his final year of track and high school sports. He doesn't know if he will ever get to walk through his high school again, let alone walk at an actual graduation ceremony in the beginning of June. I had planned a mother/daughter trip to California in the middle to end of May. That probably won't happen now and today I'm working on trying to book it for the only other week we can go this summer (in August). I won't cancel the original trip until closer to that time. I'm very thankful I have a job to go to. I hope and pray that each of you stays safe and healthy!

petite1: Great news! One less doctor visit for a while.

mocame: Glad you are feeling better. I wish you didn't have to go to work but I completely understand about needing to work and grateful to have a job. I'm solo so if I don't work, I don't eat. I'm happy to be allowed to telework. Please remember to stay a distance from your colleagues and walk hands all the time. I'm sure your son is bummed. I have a play niece who is also graduating from high school this year. I was planning to fly back to her graduation at the end of May. Now, that probably won't happen. When I last emailed with her in February, she was thinking about getting her prom dress. Probably no prom either. How sad for these kids.

Good morning, Ladies. My husband and I have just been staying in. He misses seeing his buddies at the local bar. I told him he could invite them over. We have a nice tiki bar that has not had much use in recent times.

petite1: That is gorgeous! Is it warm enough where you are to use the pool?

I just got a cancellation notice from the SO for both the visit and the mammogram. Ugh. Not sure how long it will take to get a new date since being a large city, it takes a while just to get a regular appointmnet.

    mocame Member Posts: 567

Petite1 - That is beautiful! I think I could sit there and relax by the pool! :)

Kamboka - Sorry about the cancellations. That's a bummer. Hopefully when things calm down, you can get a quicker mammogram appointment since yours is more of a priority.

I went back to work yesterday. What a long day! I was so tired but so far I am feeling better today. I hope it stays that way! I think once I get back into my normal routine and am able to start exercising, I will feel better. Also, I am enjoying not having any aches and pains since I started taking a daily dose of potassium. Apparently, it wasn't a side effect of the Anastrozole after all but from one of my regular medications! :)

    Good morning.

Kamboka, sorry to hear about the cancellations. Hopefully the world will get back to normal, soon.

mocame, glad to hear your are back to work.

Good news today. I called my SO to reschedule the appointment and she said I'd have to call the mammogram office to reschedule with them. When I called, they said my appointment was not cancelled. I'm still on for Monday. Yoohoo! I had the receptionist in stitches on the phone. She asked me if I had traveled to China or Japan in the last two weeks. My response was 'only if they are in my bedroom'. (I've been on home isolation for two weeks.) She laughed so hard and said she was calling her friend to share that with her. Now, I just have to make sure I don't have a cough by the time I get there on Monday. Don't want to get turned away.

mocame: I'm glad that you survived your first day and hopefully your second day back to work. Is your workload the same or has this shutdown affect your business?

Kamboka - Yay! I'm so glad you got to keep your appointment. I hope it goes well.

I work for a retirement community so all employees are considered essential and need to report to work even if our county has a stay-at-home issued by the governor. That happened today to a couple counties next to mine. It's just a matter of time until it happens in my county. My daughter's college apartment is in one of those counties and she is going back there tomorrow. I told her not to come back home to see us for at least a few weeks or until this gets better. We can Zoom each other until then. I can't risk getting sick or bringing it to work so in the past couple of weeks, the only places I have gone is to work, the outpatient center for my surgery, and an outdoor nursery to look at trees for around our house. I'm trying to either get my groceries picked up or delivered. If we need anything else, my husband or daughter has gone to the grocery store. As an employee that doesn't have direct contact with residents, each day I still have to get my temperature checked (we each were supplied with our own thermometer cover to reuse each day), answer questions about any potential symptoms or people we have been around, keep our distance from our coworkers, wash our hands a lot, they sanitize our door handles or always leave some doors open instead and so on. It's been crazy. My work has decreased somewhat but not a lot. Work has been the one fairly normal thing I have to do during this virus.

mocame, I am glad you have work. I feel like I have been sheltering in place forever. I have not done anything socially for 19 days. Just taking long walks, exercise. Play with the cats. Watch TV. Play on the internet. Work on my projects. My husband is just watching TV and doing facebook. He is not able to do much exercise.
