Micmel, looks like he was praying to be found!
KBL, what a cutie and what a great creative way of making this squirrel a happy camper.
Lisa, he looks deep in thought. What a beauty.

Micmel, was that on a hummingbird feeder? I don't want to be giving bad news, but I recently read that praying mantises can kill hummingbirds. Not sure if that is true, but one day last year I looked out my window at a praying mantis and a bumble bee was also at the flowers near the mantis. I thought "aw, what a lovely look at nature" when the mantis suddenly struck the bee and ate him! I couldn't believe it! I guess that is why they are "good" because they do eat other bugs, but I didn't know bees ( or hummingbirds), were on their menu!
That said, I am going to pretend that he was just hanging out, maybe tasting the sweet food and went on his merry way! Glad it got freed from your house!
I love the pictures posted here and visit often. They really add joy to my life. Thank you to everyone who posts here!

Thank you. Yes, these pictures are so great. I plan to come more often. My little squirrel has a nest in the next-door neighbor’s tree. I saw a hawk fly out of it this morning. Scared me. I ran over, and she was fine. Before that, though, I was sitting there and saw something out of the corner of my eye. We both scared each other. Lol
That’s sad about the praying mantis, but I guess it’s. nature. I just don’t want to see anything killed.
I went for a long overdue beach walk this morning.

Beth, I wrote a post to you and it has gone poof. I have seen your paintings on the artist's thread and they are amazing.

the praying mantis was inside my house. It was not a hummingbird feeder. He somehow got into the house. We safely found him and removed to outside a week after he got in. He’s alive and well in our bushes. He was a big one. He has many little teeth grabbers on his legs. Up close looks pretty awesome
