Too bad that the Dems at the top can't extract themselves from their corporate funders and push through the levels of reform that so many of the common people are calling for. We need to ban politicians from trading in stocks to contain insider trading and conflicts of interest, but Wall Street prefers keeping those conflicts of interest in place to manipulate their politicians. We need guide rails on predatory lending, medical over-billing and exploitative insurance plans, and private equity groups buying up residential and agricultural property. We also need to revamp the tax structure to tax stock trades and options in C-suite salary packages. But we aren't likely to see much of these until our government representatives, red and blue, are no longer under obligation to the 1% oligarchs.

I am very sad to share the news that exbrnxgrl, Caryn, died yesterday. She was a strong, smart woman and will be truly missed.

She hadn't posted on here for awhile and I was just thinking of her the other day. She had said she was dealing with a change in her condition recently. Sad to hear.

That is sad about Caryn. Always ambivalent about missing people and feeling glad they are beyond pain.

Not the maker of plans and promises, but rather the one who offers faithful service in small matters. This is the person who is most likely to achieve what is good and lasting.

BREAKING: Republicans get panic-inducing news in North Carolina as Democratic Senate candidate Roy Cooper announces a jaw-dropping $3.4 million fundraising haul in the 24 hours since launching his campaign.
And it gets even better...
Cooper, who is a beloved former governor in the state, raised $2.6 million with an additional $900,000 coming from the Democratic Party.
95% of the donations were $100 or less, demonstrating widespread grassroots support for his candidacy. His campaign is hailing the haul as "a testament” to his “strong and deep support across North Carolina.”
"I have thought on it and prayed about it, and I have decided: I want to serve as your next United States senator, because, even now, I still believe our best days are ahead," Cooper stated in his campaign launch video.
Cooper announced his candidacy on Monday and last month MAGA Senator Thom Tillis announced that he would not be seeking reelection, meaning that Democrats will not be going up against an incumbent for the seat this cycle. This represents an incredible opportunity to shift the balance of the Senate away from Donald Trump and his disastrous policies.
The upcoming mid-term elections will decide the future of this nation and indeed if we have a nation at all. If Democrats can seize back control of Congress, they can stop Trump's agenda dead in its tracks, issue subpoenas, and curtail the widespread corruption that is gripping our government.

Horrid — I hope those doing this will face the proper retribution for it.

Speaking of pedophiles, Caroline Leavitt's husband is 32 years older than she is. He's old enough to be her father and a grandfather to his son. Just saying.
3 -
BTW, Virginia Giuffre was 17 years old in 2000 when she worked in Trump's spa giving massages. Not sure this was legal.
