[The Native American] believes profoundly in silence—the sign of perfect equilibrium. Silence is the absolute poise or balance of body, mind and spirit. The people who preserve their selfhood ever calm and unshaken by the storms of existence—not a leaf, as it were, astir on the tree; not a ripple upon the surface of the shining pool—theirs, in the mind of the unlettered sage, is the ideal attitude and conduct of life. If you ask: “What are the fruits of silence?” he or she will say: “They are self-control, true courage or endurance, patience, dignity, and reverence. Silence is the cornerstone of character.”    -Ohiyesa (Charles Eastman)

Heard both sides on this. That we had better prepare hard, and that he has little chance. I tend to think more on the second outcome — what I also agree with is that he and many of the Reps. are going to tear into Pres. Biden and the Democrats like never before.

So, in that arena we are going to have to be very diligent — but the Loon is as "mad" in more ways than one as ever. We can do this but it is going to be a long haul.

I had pretty much stopped watching CNN since they do seem to be favoring Reps. more so. I've read that they want to be the ones who basically take over the Fox spot. We shall see.

    By KELLY GARRITY in Politico

    05/10/2023 06:45 PM EDT

Republican Sen. Tommy Tuberville’s office on Wednesday clarified statements he made about white nationalists serving in the military.

“Do you believe they should allow white nationalists in the military?” the Alabama senator was asked during an interview on WBHM that was posted online on Monday. “Well, they call them that. I call them Americans,” Tuberville said.

On Wednesday, Tuberville’s office clarified those remarks to a publication in his home state, telling AL.com that Tuberville’s comment “shows that he was being skeptical of the notion that there are white nationalists in the military, not that he believes they should be in the military,” and that the senator believes members of the military are “patriots.”

During the radio interview, Tuberville, a member of the Senate Arms Services Committee, also decried lagging recruitment in the military, blaming Biden-administration policies.

“We are losing in the military so fast” in terms of recruitment, Tuberville said, adding: “Democrats are attacking our military, saying we need to get out the white extremists, the white nationalists, people that don’t believe in our agenda, as Joe Biden’s agenda.”

rise in white supremacy in the military has plagued the Pentagon for years, coming to the forefront in the aftermath of the Jan. 6 riot, after analysis found one in five defendants charged in the insurrection had served in the military.

Tuberville’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Yes, Santos does bear a striking resemblance to Brad Pitt 🤣. I was actually surprised that he didn’t claim to be related to the British Royal family. I half expected him to turn up at the coronation dressed in robes of the Order of the Garter. Oh wait, that was Prince Andrew, or was it…?

Tuberville — another misfit in Congress. His carefully choosing to walk back his statement/feeling about White Nationalists and the military just disgusts me. It is not so much that he did it — but that it was so transparent like so many things he does.

Since day one of his arrival he has kept it just under being radical so he can have/get his views out knowing he is safer now than at any other time.

Yes, indeed. He and you who want an errant and barely controlled lifestyle and government as small as possible and as worthless as a whirling dervish are welcome to this barely human piece of horrid orange rubbish.

Too bad we can't find an un-inhabited island somewhere, send you all there with him and give you all our best wishes for a long and healthy un-regulated by any kind of decent government life. Yes, indeed.

    ANALYSIS,DONALD TRUMP,JOE BIDEN

Donald Trump Posted An Extremely Dark, Disturbing Message; Called The US “Evil” And Appeared To Suggest That Joe And Hunter Biden Deserve The “Electric Chair”

This is DARK, even for Trump.

    by Andrea Thompson19 mins ago19 mins ago650ShareTweet

It’s never been a secret that Donald Trump is a demented, narcissistic, dangerous human being. Four long, hard, tumultuous years with him behind the proverbial wheel of this nation was proof enough of that all on its own. We watched in collective horror and helplessness and the man destroyed this country as we knew it and everything it has ever stood for, from the inside out. Even nearly 2 years post-Trump administration, we are still reeling from his ongoing effect on this country, its people, and our own government.

But this… This was dark. This was dark, even for Donald Trump.

Everyone knows that the one-term, twice-impeached former president is currently staring down the barrel of the worst trouble he’s ever seen in his 76 years of life — from multiple different directions. The United States Department of Justice is closing in on him after the bombshell FBI search and seizure warrant that discovered countless boxes of highly-classified, top-secret government documents at his Mar-a-Lago resort turned post-White House home. New York Attorney General Letitia James is coming after his family and their company, the Trump Organization, full force with a mountain of legal peril and lawsuits. The Fulton County Georgia District Attorney’s Office has set its sights with no signs of stopping on Trump’s scheming plot to “find the votes” in the state of Georgia that would help him overthrow the 2020 presidential election and keep himself unrightfully in power. And that’s all just the tip of the iceberg.

And it’s clearer than ever that Trump feels the walls closing in on him, and he’s not handling the pressure well. At all.

Recently, Trump took to his Truth Social platform on the heels of the bombshell news that The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office would begin their criminal trial against the Trump Organization and the allegations of tax fraud between 2005 and 2021 would begin on Monday. News broke that the DA’s office charged the former president’s family business with nine counts of tax fraud, conspiracy, and various other criminal offenses in relation to falsified documents and records. Trump has not personally been charged with any crimes and his company has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Nevertheless, Donald Trump lost his temper in a way that we’ve never quite witnessed before.

In one of his most unhinged posts to date, the scandal-ridden former president appeared to go fully to the dark side, calling the United States “evil” and seemingly suggesting that Joe and Hunter Biden deserved the “electric chair.”

“The Witch Hunt continues, and after 6 years and millions of pages of documents, they’ve got nothing,” Trump raged on Truth Social in the early hours of Sunday morning. “If I had what Hunter and Joe had, it would be the Electric Chair. Our Country is Rigged, Crooked, and Evil – We must bring it back, and FAST. Next stop, Communism!”

We’ve reached a point in this nation where a former United States president is appearing to publicly call for the execution of his successor. I truly don’t even know what to say anymore…

So I read a brief post from the Lincoln Project, the gist of what it said was CNN is trying to normalize Trump’s behavior. That they gave him a 90 minute platform to spew his hatred. Wtf??!! I will no longer read CNN links, it used to be one of my go-to’s for news. No more. I am done with them.

As white supremacy and domestic terrorism ramps up in the U.S., many conservatives are normalizing such behavior. And by conservatives, I mean the ones who live in your community and mine. The ones who live all over the country, not just politicians. All the mass shootings have just become a way of life, as if it was a “normal” occurrence. Another headline: “A Texas man who killed a protester almost three years ago was sentenced Wednesday to 25 years in prison, although Republican Gov. Greg Abbott has promised to approve a pardon if he is given the opportunity”. The Republicans are blood thirsty. They won’t quit.

My neighbor is so proud to mention that he packs a gun when he goes to church, and says four other men there also pack. Not saying couldn’t happen but what does he think, in a small town someone wants to come shoot up people in the church? Our town has no crime. Dh and I think neighbor would love for something to go down during a service when he’s there. But to me, there is sadness that neighbor think taking a gun to church is a normal thing.

Unfortunately (fortunately in this case) you cannot retract words once they have been aired, viewed, analyzed, etc. They are out there but you can try to fool some idiot that they were spoken in error; most with any brain cells would reject that explanation but the repugnican base is not educated enough to distinguish the truth from lies today. For those with any intellect, they have heard them and now must take action on their validity. I do not know what Tuberville has going for him but it is most certainly not intelligence. The man is a borderline idiot. Did he hit his head too much in football?

If I can figure out how to send an email to CNN, I will. This was one station I would watch especially when we were traveling abroad, but no more. The fact that they set up one of their staff to endure the insults from the chief ignoramus and to think that anything he spews is newsworthy is beyond the pale. I think if the major stations would cut off his access to air time it would cause his demise. He feeds on spouting his lies and glories in the fact that news stations think this is newsworthy. It's fanning the fire in my estimation and I am tired of him grabbing headlines, etc. Time to cut the umbilical cord so he can suffer a natural death from lack of publicity. As soon as I see him on TV or the news, I either change the station or turn off the tube.

I had to endure him for 4 miserable years that I cannot relive or regain. He caused me much anguish then and at my age I refuse to share my life with him any longer.

Hyenas chew the feet off their victims so they cannot escape, eat their victims alive, and that's what CNN did to their interviewer. Yes, this is gruesome but so is what we are being exposed to every time this man gets TV time.

Republican at Trump Town Hall Says Many in Audience Were ‘Disgusted’ or ‘Bewildered’ By Ex-President

    Story by Charlie Nash •

    CNN

Many audience members at CNN’s town hall with former President Donald Trump on Wednesday were “disgusted” and “bewildered” by the spectacle, but were told to be respectful and not to boo, according to a report.

“The floor manager came out ahead of time and said, Please do not boo, please be respectful. You were allowed to applaud,” claimed Republican political consultant Matthew Bartlett in an interview with Puck News senior political correspondent Tara Palmeri on Thursday.

“And I think that set the tone where people were going to try their best to keep this between the navigational beacons, and that if they felt compelled to applaud, they would, but they weren’t going to have an outburst or they weren’t going to boo an answer,” he said.

Bartlett claimed that, while many in the audience applauded and cheered the former president, “there were also people that sat there quietly disgusted or bewildered.” He estimated that while around half of the audience expressed vocal support for Trump, the other half sat in silence. Bartlett also alleged that Trump repeatedly “lost the audience” when he spoke about topics like January 6 or the results of the 2020 election, despite the appearance on CNN that the audience was consistently on his side.

“In a TV setting, you hear the applause, but you don’t see the disgust,” Bartlett told Palmeri. “So Trump did not have the entire room on his side, make no mistake, even if it certainly came across that way on TV.”

Bartlett also criticized CNN host Kaitlan Collins for repeatedly sparring with Trump and claimed it resulted in less questions being fielded from the audience — some of whom were “really disgusted” with the former president’s behavior and “were ready to confront him about that” had they been given the opportunity.

CNN received heavy backlash from liberals over the town hall, including from hosts at rival cable news network MSNBC.

MSNBC host Joy Reid called the event “blatant fascism meets The Jerry Springer Show” and suggested that CNN was attempting to become a “friendly place for MAGA,” while MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan said Collins’ performance “just wasn’t good enough.”

CNN senior media reporter Oliver Darcy reported on Wednesday that CNN was “facing a fury of criticism” from within the network over its decision to host the town hall.

CNN will probably host town halls with Disney Ron DeathSantis, Nikki Haley, Pence, Biden, Marianne Williamson, Robert Kennedy Jr, and maybe others who rise to the top. They claim it’s what they do. Hold debates too. “Newsworthy” Trump is a clown car all by himself. I won’t be watching.
