BREAKING: Gun violence is actually worse in RED states and it’s not even close according to a new analysis.
Southern politicians, including Republican governors Ron DeSantis and Greg Abbott, have blamed crime in Democratic-run cities like New York for being out of control.
However, statistics show that New York City region has the lowest rates of gun violence in the US mainland, while the southern swath of the country has the highest rates.
Those living in rural areas of South Carolina are more likely to die from gunshot wounds than those in equally rural areas of New York.
The highest rates of deadly gun violence occur in regions where Republicans have long dominated state governments.
“The Deep South is the most deadly of the large regions at 15.6 per 100,000 residents followed by Greater Appalachia at 13.5. Yankeedom is the next safest at 8.6, which is about half that of Deep South,” writes journalist Colin Woodard.
Maybe it’s time we take common sense Gun laws seriously?
It’s time to win the debate. Let’s expand background checks and pass an assault weapons ban.
Let’s curb ghost guns, ban high-capacity magazines, fight gun trafficking, and lengthen the review window for existing background checks.
We know the problem.
It’s the guns.1 -

Great memes, Jackie. There seems to be more in the news lately about gun violence being worse in red states. And I hope those election workers get their money from Guiliani, although sometimes it never materializes.
You had put some information up about the sex scandal of the Moms for Liberty co-founder (see below). A NYT headline (I don’t have a subscription so I can’t read the article) says the scandal shakes the MfL “as the group’s influence wanes.” I am glad to read that! I cannot comprehend the hypocricy of people like this woman.
How Moms for Liberty co-founder Bridget Ziegler, a supporter of 'parental rights' in schools, got caught in a sex scandal that may push her to resign from a school boardBusiness Insider Katie Balevic
- A conservative power couple in Florida is in hot water over a threesome sex scandal.
- The woman has accused Christian Ziegler, chairman of the Republican Party of Florida, of rape.
- Bridget Ziegler, a Moms for Liberty co-founder, has been asked to resign from a school board.
Hypocrisy will do it every time.
Bridget Ziegler, a co-founder of the rightwing Moms for Liberty group, knows that better than most.
She and her husband, Christian, are embroiled in a sex scandal that is costing them their positions in local Florida politics, as well as their moral high ground with the religious right, Business Insider previously reported.
A report from the Sarasota Police Department last month revealed that the Zieglers had a threesome with a woman who has since accused Christian Ziegler of sexual assault, The New York Times reported. Though heavily redacted, the report used the words "raped" and "sexually battered."
After a consensual threesome with the woman, the group scheduled a second rendezvous, but the unnamed woman canceled after she found out Bridget Ziegler wouldn't be able to attend, BI previously reported. The woman later told police that Christian Ziegler showed up at her apartment anyway and assaulted her, The Washington Post reported.
In 2021, Bridget Ziegler stopped working with Moms for Liberty, the "parental rights" group she co-founded that rails against LGBTQ books and conversations in schools. The next year, she was elected to the Sarasota County School Board.
The threesome revelation has put pressure on Ziegler to resign from her position on the Sarasota County School Board, which she has thus far declined to do, The Times reported.
County residents have been vocal in public meetings, assailing Ziegler directly for embroiling herself in a sex scandal all while supporting anti-LGBTQ policies.
"Most of our community could not care less what you do in the privacy of your own home, but your hypocrisy takes center stage," one Sarasota resident told Zeigler during a school board meeting this week, according to The Times.
The members of the school board voted four-to-one on Tuesday in favor of Ziegler resigning. She was the lone vote against the nonbinding resolution, according to The Times.
Christian Ziegler, under investigation by police, faces similar pressure to resign as chairman of the Republican Party of Florida. He reportedly requested a buyout to provide a "soft landing" for his potential resignation, NBC News reported, citing several Republican sources. Ziegler denied the claim to NBC.
Bridget Ziegler did not immediately respond to BI's request for comment, nor did an attorney for Christian Ziegler.

Generally, I find that the people who are most outraged about other people's choices/lifestyle etc. are the ones who have something to hide themselves.

Moms For Liberty sounds like it is more for adult females' period. Perhaps Ms. Ziegler would or could be fond of a little wife swapping as well. Most of us must be real sticks in the mud. Once Dh and I got married, that was it. Not to say I didn't sneak a few peeks at guys I thought were really good looking, but anything more than that just wasn't going to happen.
In fact, in the beginning when I first heard about Moms for Liberty, I took a look at it. The name sounded interesting. Boy, did I soon find out that I wanted no part of it. I also think you are very correct Ruth. Just like the Loon accusing everyone else (Democrats/Joe Biden) of exactly what he and his motley crew of Reps. are up too. Some a huge need to prove your worthiness means people better start looking at what your hoping will never, ever be noticed.

Optimism is a strategy for making a better future. Because unless you believe that the future can be better, you are unlikely to step up and take responsibility for making it so.

Before I get to looking for memes, I was reading my newsfeed yesterday and who do I see but Alina Habba. I was gob-smacked but shouldn't have been. She was talking about if and when (but like it could be more of a sure thing) the Loon regained office she expected to be given a HEAVY-DUTY role in the Loon's cabinet. She would be assisting the Loon mainly in his area of pay-back and taking care of all the meanies causing the Loon such distress.
Talk about Kool-Aide. This woman seems to be totally mesmerized. It did though make some sense to me that she makes the arguments (largely stupid, frivolous, or both, and that manage to do nothing) with a straight and sincere face. Not sure how she passed the bar exam or why she expects a better fate than some of the other Loon lawyers. So many people mistake their ability to be next to Trump and not get burned. There is quite a list now — and yet people like Habba just can't relate to losing. They seem in-capable of understanding to be a Loon type person you MUST be severely mentally handicapped. You can't be too near a person like that for long because you'll end up a steppingstone ground up and long left behind in the dust and chaos carrying the load for the Loon as he walks away un-scathed. This time will be different, but not for Habba. She will be as used and abused as anyone who comes to close.

I have always thought Giuliani never quite got over the FAME and NOTRIETY of 9/11. After he was no longer mayor, (he was a Pres. candidate) every time he was on tv for anything he made reference to 9/11. So, when he got a change to 'display' himself to Trump he jumped at the chance for need of the fame and attention he never got over. I'm sure Trump was VERY good at convincing Guiliani how important he was to Trump, but in truth — Guiliani was just one of those steppingstones. Are you listening Habba. Bet you aren't!!
