Experiences with flap reconstruction

I have my initial consult with my plastic surgeon next week and I’m trying to gather as much info as I can before going in.

I’m a smidge afraid of getting implants because I already have some inflammatory issues and I’m worried I’ll be one of the few that react to their implants. On the other hand, I read a study that reported flap recipients had considerably more pain one year post-op compared to implant recipients, which would be a huge con for me.

If you had a flap reconstruction, are you happy with the results? How long until your pain went away (if ever)? I’m most interested in the inner thigh flap procedures, so if anyone has experience with those I’d love to hear about it.
