Radiation and exhaustion

I just finished 5 radiation courses on my shoulders for metastatic bc pain. Does radiation cause exhaustion? I am sleeping 8 hours and then another 4+ hours of naps during the day. My legs feel like wet noodles. This has taken a toll on me. Is this normal and will it stop soon? Please help.

When I had radiation, my RO told me at the beginning that many of his patients needed an afternoon "nap" so apparently the answer to your question is "Yes"!

Thank you. I've never felt this exhausted before. :(

Deamo1 - Everyone is different, but yes radiation can cause you to be fatigued and exhausted. I was exhausted all the time during rads, but did not sleep much. I was weak and it definitely took it's toll on me.

Others will probably chime in and tell you their experiences.

Make sure you are drinking a lot of water and tell your RO what you are experiencing.

I hope things get better for you.
