Egg Retrieval and Timing

Hello,

I'm 37 years old, and my husband and I were planning to start our family this year. Our plans of course have been derailed with my breast cancer diagnosis. Luckily, we were already able to do one cycle of embryo freezing and my fertility doctor has suggested doing another cycle if we can. My oncologist suggested doing it after the surgery but my fertility doctor feels that I won't be well enough for at least 4 weeks after. I will be having a single mastectomy (possibly double depending on my genetic test). I'm concerned about holding off too long from starting other systemic treatment.

Did anyone do fertility preservation after their surgery? How did you feel? How long after the surgery did you start?
