Hi all. Asking for a relative who was diagnosed with stage 2 hormone positive cancer - what are the chances of it coming back with chemotherapy?

Asking you here as it is quicker than trying to search for information myself.

Recurrence and survival depend on tumor characteristics and treatment, so just knowing the stage is not really enough information. There are a couple of online calculators that have you input information and give a general statistical answer.

If your relative is eligible for the Oncotype DX genomic test, it gives a prediction based on analyzing a specimen of her tumor and is consequently more personalized. Otherwise, her MO would be able to give estimates based on his knowledge of her tumor and other medical conditions.

    Hope this helps!

I agree with maggie15. There are many more factors that go into prognostic tools than stage and hormone status. The tools mentioned above may be useful .
