Confused about mammogram

Options

Hello, I'm 40 years old and was told I needed a biopsy on my right breast. I did have a breast lift a year and a half ago. My mammogram came back as bi-rads 4b with fine pleomorphic microcalcifications. How often does this come back as cancer?

confusedmammogram123, I'm sorry that you have to go through the worry of a biopsy. BIRADS 4b has a 10 to 50% chance of being malignant. It's a pretty wide probability but it means that it is more likely to be benign than not. There is no way to tell for sure just by looking at imaging. Waiting for the biopsy and the results is stressful so try to keep busy. Let us know how it turns out. I hope it's benign.

Hi there. I don’t know if mine was 4b, but it was 4. I was told the chance of cancer was 10-90%. I had a breast reduction years ago and was told that could cause areas of suspicion. Good luck with the biopsy and hopefully this is all in the part soon enough.
