Metallic Taste - Ideas?
I’ve had just one chemo; taxotere and carboplatin. Thrush started around day 6. A horrible metal taste started soon after on day 8. I’m hoping that the metal taste will go away when the thrush does. Was anyone lucky enough for that to happen? I can’t imagine this taste for 18 weeks! Food tastes horrible. Any suggestions on which foods work? I feel like I’ve tried everything.

Hello Chill399, I'm sorry the chemo side effects are happening. I added cherry juice concentrate to my water bottles and tea. It didn't completely eliminate the metal taste, but definitely made drinking liquids tolerable. It seems like the metal taste started to wane at day 9 or 10 of the 21 day cycle. I hope this helps. All the best getting through the chemo treatments.

Using plastic disposable utensils may help too.
