LCIS - BC in family -- NIGHTLY HOT FLASHES & PALPITATIONS - Can't sleep - MISERABLE & CONFUSED
Hello,
I am 61 and have been in menopause one decade. I lost my dear sister to BC at age 42. About 10 years ago I had a surgical biopsy that said LCIS. Since then normal mammos but dense breasts.
I have waited for these symptoms to "pass" but now it's pretty clear they never will. My nightly routine is horrible palpitations and hot flashes and as a result very poor sleep. There is so much confusing and conflicting information about HRT. Is there anyone in the same boat who has found a solution? Can I start some sort of HRT so late? Thanks for listening. Sleepless and grouchy.

Hello, I'm not on any drugs. Just tired of being on fire—it's not normal. Would like to consider HRT to stop the heat

Hello,
I know this has been over a year ago since you posted, but I just had to chime in. I had normal mammos, always. As a matter of fact, I had a "normal" mammo 4 months prior to being dx with ILC stage IV after an MRI done of my neck. At the time, I saw Katie Couric on TV, discussing her breast cancer. She was told she had dense breasts (so was I), but her doctor decided to do an MRI because of the dense breasts. I was never told that. ILC is very sneaky and can hide from regular scans. Please ask your doctor for an MRI. Not trying to scare you, but I wish someone would have told me that regular mammograms can hide lobular. I was told it was like "trying to find a snowball in a snowstorm. Good luck to you!
