Hey @kkardatzke22 . I have lumpectomy and axillary nodes removal on the 4th. Just finished chemo on Aug 8th. I'm HER2+ so had chemo first. I'm a little anxious about surgery, I've never been put to sleep before. I go the 3rd for the radioactive chip/seeds for the tumor and node. They do the radioactive injection right before surgery. I've read that both of these are not fun.

im having a single mastectomy due to smaller breast and 2 tumors. I too have never had general anesthesia so that's the scariest part for sure! I know we will do just fine but fear of the unknown is strong.

I wish you a quick recovery! I bet you're glad chemo is finished.

    Prayers to you

Yes! Very glad chemo is over. Still fighting some of the nagging side effects though. I will have to start Phesgo (Herceptin and Perjeta) after surgery, but I can do that injection during radiation. I will be glad to get that going to keep that ugly HER2 gene stopped!

Praying your surgery will go well and a quick recovery. I was given the option of lumpectomy or mastectomy. I'm still a little worried I should do the mastectomy. While I haven't had a MRI or PET scan since chemo, both the oncologist and surgeon was pleased with the tumor and node response. They can't feel either now. Biopsy after surgery will tell the tale though.

yes just when we think we have a plan, things can change. But I hope we will both be cancer free after surgery!!

I'll need Tamoxafen after to prevent future cases.

Hope you have something relaxing planned for this weekend as you prepare.

@kkardatzke22 yes, prayers for all of us being cancer free after all of this! I guess the Tamoxafen is comparable to Phesgo that I have to do because of being HER2+. I have my every three month heart echo today. The immunotherapy drugs can cause issues.

We have an annual and very large flea market that we always go to. Told my husband I might have to take a lot more breaks this year and shorten our days a couple of hours LOL. I am getting more energy back, but still not 100%. Not sure this is relaxing, but def. enjoyable. Will have all day Monday to rest though! Enjoy your holiday as well!!
