@laguna24 thank you for posting this.

Read about Targeted therapies for breast cancer HERE! And Research News on Targeted therapies.

Here are some examples of the types of targeted treatment that are being referenced in the article:

Genetically targeted fractionated chemotherapy is a treatment option for breast cancer that can use more chemotherapies at once. Some examples of targeted therapies for breast cancer include the following (go HERE for a more complete list)

    • CDK4/6 inhibitors These drugs, such as palbociclib (Ibrance), ribociclib (Kisqali), and abemaciclib (Verzenio), block proteins in breast cancer cells that help them divide. They are used to treat hormone receptor-positive breast cancer.
    • Anti-HER2 therapies These drugs, such as trastuzumab (Herceptin), pertuzumab (Perjeta), and tucatinib (Tukysa), target the HER2 protein in HER2-positive breast cancer cells.
    • Piqray (alpelisib) This drug is used to treat advanced, ER/PR-positive breast cancer with a PIK3CA mutation.
    • Truqap (capivasertib) This drug is used to treat advanced or metastatic breast cancer with a mutation in PTEN, PIK3, or AKT1 genes.
    • Talzenna (talazoparib) This drug is used to treat HER2-negative breast cancers in people with a BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutation.
    • Trodelvy (sacituzumab govitecan-hziy) This antibody-drug conjugate is used to treat metastatic, hormone receptor-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer
