Zoladex injection

Hello.
I had a breast cancer surgery in last April in South Korea. Since then, I had been continuing medical treatments, including radiation and take a Tamoxifen everyday. Also, I had a Zoladex Injection every 3 months. I came back to the USA and I need to continue the Zoladex injection here. So, I tried to make an appointment with several Oncology hospital since last week. However, I don't know why I am still waiting a call for appointment from the hospital.
I have lack of experiance in American medical/hospital system.
Could you please let me know how I can continue the treatments?
FYR, my Korean doctor wrote a referral for that Zoladex in English.
Do I have go to Oncology specialist or Oncology hospital or pharmacist?
I will appreciate your comment.

    Hello,
Do you have medical insurance in the US? If you do, you will need to find an oncologist who accepts your insurance, make an appointment with them and they will prescribe the medication. If you are self paying, simply find an oncologist who is accepting new patients. Hospitals and pharmacies only dispense medications under the supervision of a doctor so you need to find a doctor/oncologist who will take you on as a patient and then prescribe your medications. Neither pharmacies nor hospitals directly provide prescription meds*. Take care

*Hospitals provide prescription meds in the emergency room and for in patient care, but not routine care. Pharmacists cannot prescribe medications but they do fill prescriptions written by a doctor.

@fine7701 you should definitely keep persisting. @exbrnxgrl makes a good point, about your insurance. Are you calling to make an appointment with a specific doctor?

@fine7701 we're sorry it's so difficult but keep it up! We all have to self-advocate, but it shouldn't be so difficult. Once you are established it should hopefully all work smoothly.
