Slipped Disc or something else?

I haven’t posted here in a while but, I do check in to read the posts from time to time to gain knowledge and peace. I’m very thankful for the ladies here, though I wish none of us were here.

So, if I could get some of you to offer advice, prayers, or experiences I would appreciate it.

So, in early October I started to have left shoulder pain, not constant just enough to notice. (I also have arthritis in that shoulder).

I went to see my GP when two weeks in the pain was now mostly in my left shoulder blade area and into my upper arm. He thought I had the beginning of a frozen shoulder. I went with that for about another two weeks, now early November and back to GP. My GP wasn’t available so I saw another doctor after giving me a exam she stated it was muscular and gave me a Tramadol shot and recommended PT. The shot helped for about a day.

Now in late November I went in to Urgent Care which did an xray which showed a slipped disc in my lower thoracic area. The pain had increased along with pain in upper arm that feels like sore muscles.

The pain also goes to forearm and over Thanksgiving I began to get tingling in both feet.

Needless to say I’m more than concerned. I have an appointment on Dec. 11 with my GP to request an MRI.  I’m not sure why the symptoms are changing so quickly.  The pain had definitely reduced but not gone.  I take muscle relaxers and Naproxen and sleeping is better. Two weeks ago I couldn’t sleep for pain in my arm and shoulder blade area.

@humblepeace Oh dear, you’re going through all this just as the holidays hit us! Did you try physical therapy? Of course, that wouldn’t necessarily address the root cause but the massages are nice. Be sure to take the naproxen with food. You were wise to observe the 2 week rule of thumb for reporting symptoms.

In 2008 I had a herniated disc in my spine. The discomfort went down my leg similar to what I’ve heard described as sciatica. I finally got relief from a series of steroid injections once every 14 days. Hopefully you will find a solution soon.
