Cold capping
Hi everyone
I am about to start treatment and want to do the cold capping but I’m terrified at how painful it could be? Any insight on how to mentally prepare for it or how it feels
Thank you xx

Hello! I used the Penguin cold caps in 2019. Starting chemo, my hair was very thick. The first time a cap was placed on my head, I vividly remember thinking 2 things:
- this doesn’t seem that cold
- this must be what it feels like to wear a football helmet
I’ve speculated that the caps didn’t feel that cold because of the thickness of my hair. I wore the caps for some time period before, during, and after my chemo infusions. At the end of the day, I had a dull headache. Not sure if that was caused by the caps, the anxiety of the day, or the drugs, 🤷🏼♀️.
I have no regrets in using the Penguin caps and am glad that I did! Best of luck to you hpvxxx31 in your treatment.

Thank you so much for your reply, I hope I will think the same things and make it through each time, the thought of it and how long it's on for is most daunting.
I hope you are well xxx
