Question on alternative treatments...

Hi Guys,
Has ANYONE has any kind of success with this type of treatment maybe in conjunction with traditional treatments?
(edited by mods to remove link)
Other boards just refuse to discuss this. It's all voodoo medicine and backwoods treatments... but it appears to be completely legit… my wife claims there are lots of FB groups (I don't do socials) that claims this as well…
Just wondering…pending an upcoming prostate cancer screening because of a very high PSA…:)
Thanks!
Alex

The focus of bco is conventional medicine, research based medicine., not anecdotes or miracle cures . The plural of anecdote is not data. Yes, we have had members swear by this and that but none are reliable and often not replicated.
We are free to make our own choices but this is not the place if interested in data driven research and there is little data to support it. In my 13 + years here, alternative tx continues to be unproven, wildly expensive and just something for the desperate to grab on to. Take care

There was a long thread on FenBen when I first joined this forum. There was a lady who I think was at or pretty close to her last line of treatment and she was taking FenBen regularly. Sadly, it did not help her nor anyone else I’ve seen on here who has reported using it.
Back then (before COVID and all the Ivermectin claims) people were hearing about FenBen because Joe Tippens, a lung cancer patient I believe, was writing about his experience. He took FenBen while he was on a clinical trial for another drug - I think the other drug turned out to be Keytruda. So it is likely that his good results were more due to Keytruda than the Fenbendazole.
If you search Fenbendazole on this forum, you may find that thread.

Yes, I remember that case well. Costly, complicated , preying on the vulnerable and desperate. It it sickening to see how they were taken advantage of in their desperation which yielded nothing more than empty bank accounts and misery.
Conventional medicine is far from perfect but at least there is some accountability and records, NOT Anecdotes which is a fancy term for tales passed around by the desperate. None of these “alternative” cures or practitioners is doing this out of a desire to improve the human condition.,3 -
The selling of snake oil has been going on for a long long time. I think of Kathy Acker, a brilliant poet and novelist, who rejected conventional medicine for breast cancer, partly because of the cost, and chased alternative cure after alternative cure (ie. the "Gerson method," experimental care in Mexico) and wrote very movingly about it. It's a harrowing tale, but also a sympathetic one because her feelings about a dehumanizing conventional medicine are very understandable. She was a rebel girl who, as many said, couldn't be told what to do, and she died because of it. But these alternative medicine people are really just a version of the guy who stood up at the county fair and hawked "snake oil linament" (which contained no snake oil) or concoctions with morphine, which I am sure made people feel temporarily better but didn't cure them at all.

A Thank you for expressing that so well. Snake oil is snake oil regardless of how one dresses it up. Most of us recognize that but it is cruel and reprehensible to exploit the desperate in almost every way. . My favorite? An alternative cure that treats everything from breast cancer to Down Syndrome! The hideousness, greed and deceit are criminal.

So I am WELL aware f the opposition to this lol…thank you all for the responses…:) What you guys have endured is incredible and may God bless each of you with peace and comfort!
I would never JUST rely on this type of treatment. Just wanted to know if anyone has seen any benefits maybe in Conjunction with traditional treatment. ?1 -
I have found that some complenatary treatments can assist with symptom relief but complementary treatment is not alternative treatment. It’s important to understand the difference between the two.

On the advice of my oncologist, I take D3 and calcium. I also take MSM for joint pain. I take THC some nights for insomnia. I try to avoid anything (ie NSAIDS) that will put any stress on my liver, since cancer can easily spread there. Run everything by your oncologist and don't rely on rumor. For a while, people were taking high doses of vit. A, B, and C but it turns out this makes matters worse. Some supplements can also interfere with cancer drugs.

If I was looking for a “complementary” (ie, something to do in conjunction with conventional therapies) not alternative treatment - I would probably contact Care Oncology for their metabolic approach. They use regular prescription medications off-label to possibly improve your body’s response to conventional treatment. Last I checked, those anti-parasite meds are NOT part of their protocol.
Not something I’ve done, but I would consider if I wasn’t having success with current treatment.
