tops and nighties!

Hi everyone!

As a result of reading up on recovery after surgery, I have realized I'm going to be needing some front opening garments. On account of big boobs which inevitably cause a gap between the buttons, I own NOT EVEN ONE such garment!

Any brands or companies y'all have found that are good and not too expensive?

A funny little thing to be concerned about, right??

Hi @cat_guardian, It’s definitely something to be concerned about when everything you own is pullover (like me.) I went to the local discount store (like Walmart, Target, Dollar General) and bought some button/front zip tops and pajamas on sale in a larger size than I usually wear. Big and flowing isn’t my usual style but I looked fine until I was able to wear my regular clothes again. I then donated everything except one comfy zip sweatshirt that I still wear around the house. Given the current more fitted tops you might have to check out the plus size section or men’s department.

I hope your surgery goes well and you have an easy recovery.

When I was scheduled for my lumpectomy, I ordered a bunch of button-up shirts from Chico's. I wore their size 2 at the time (with a minimizer bra to keep buttons from gaping), so I ordered 3s. I also got button-up PJ tops at Kohl's and zip hoodies at Target (the men's dept. is cheaper than women's, albeit not as stylish).

One tip for the more generously endowed among us: double-faced fabric tape and well-hidden safety pins are our friends when wearing buttoned tops. Scarves can camouflage the front so you needn't "mind the gap." I had a wrap dress I hated to wear until I discovered that a wisely-placed brooch can be both a fashion statement and a solution.
