CT Scan Shows Indeterminate Supraclavicular and Axillary Lymph Nodes

I am 60 years old. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in October of 2016. I had a double mastectomy with expander/implant reconstruction. My cancer was on the left side. Stage 2, but almost stage 3. Sentinel node was clear. Tumor was Hormone + HER2 - . I had four rounds of chemotherapy and have been on Tamoxifen since then. My oncotype score was 30 so I decided to do the chemo. I have had many issues due to chemo therapy, but have made it this far. Last week, I had a CT Scan of my neck, soft tissue with contrast. Results indicate a indeterminate swollen supraclavicular and axillary lymph nodes. One in each area. They are very small. I had the CT scan because I reported neck pain. I have had neck pain since April. My SCM muscle is extremely tender on both sides. I also have a lot of heat flashes, more than usual and I do take Effexor ER. I also have tightness in my throat and ear aches. The CT scan also shows C4-5 and C5-6 disc osteophyte complex eccentric with narrowing of the canals; C6-7 disc complex eccentric with mild narrowing of the canal with mild left foraminal stenosis and C7-T1 Disc bulging eccentric to the right with focal protrusion mildly narrowing of the canal. These are injuries from who knows when. So I am going to have an MRI and ultrasound of the two nodes on September 15. You know how it goes. The mind goes on and on. Is it metastasis? I have been told that it might not be anything at all, but it seems worrisome because I understand that these two areas are where breast cancer spreads. Help.

Hello, a warm welcome back to the group, although apparently under different circumstances. Over the years I've been thru several eventful shotty node, matted node & enlarged node events, including neck & BC… all of which proved to be benign. Although I'm unable to comment on your specific experiences, you may find the following interesting enough to put your worries to rest during the interim. Please let us know how things go. Hugs & best wishes to you.

Obsolete…just wanted to add that this article helped my children so much. We just have to wait and know that it is not always a bad situation. I looked for literature on this topic and only found not very hopeful information. It's nice to have options to help put scary thoughts at rest.
