Tamoxifen side effects
Hi, I am a 69-year-old woman and and I was diagnosed with stage Ia invasive ductal carcinoma in April of this year. I had a wide surgical excision , 19 treatments of whole breast radiation, and now I have been taking Tamoxifen , 10 mg every other day for two months. I am in a Low Tam research study, that us why the dose us like that.
Since taking Tamoxifen, I have had pelvic pressure, low back pain, and painful bladder syndrome. Anybody else have these symptoms? Is this a side effect of Tamoxifen? Thank you.

@enojada we so apologize for the delayed response !!!
Thanks for sharing what you’re experiencing. Pelvic pressure, low back discomfort, and bladder irritation are symptoms that some members have mentioned while on hormonal therapy, including Tamoxifen. Not everyone has these effects, but urinary or pelvic changes do come up from time to time in discussions here.Because these symptoms can overlap with a number of other conditions—some related to treatment, some not—it’s important to let your prescribing doctor or study team know what’s been happening. They can sort out whether it’s likely related to Tamoxifen, to something unrelated, or if anything needs to be checked.
We hope others in the Low Tam or Tamoxifen groups will share their own experiences as well. You’re definitely not alone in wondering about these changes. 💗
