Another biopsy after 2 years clear......
My wife was operated on for stage 0 DTIS and received radiotherapy at the end of 2023. She thought with today being the last day of the year, she would go and see the results of her latest followup checkup, which for work reasons, she has no way to get to the hospital until today. She just called me and said the doctor is now suggesting a biopsy…6 months ago he said that she had "a small dark image" of 1.1cm on either 1. ultrasound or 1. mammogram (I am not sure which one and she is not sure what he exactly wrote in the report back then, which gives rise to even more uncertainty). Back then, he told her they would watch.Today, he has suggested a biopsy with his I am guessing here, report, saying "might be seroma or papilloma." Latest imaging says it is 0.8cm. She will have a 22 day wait until she gets the biopsy done. The hospital seems quite busy. It was not at an English speaking hospital/country. Different medical culture.
I am so worried for her and sick to the stomach again like I was 2 years ago…
Could someone please offer me some advice?

We understand your concern and fear, especially as this may be bringing back difficult memories of what your wife endured 2 years ago. Your wife's doctor has recommended a biopsy because it's the best way for her medical team to get a more informed answer as to what exactly is showing up on her imaging. If he thinks that the area of concern may be a "seroma or papilloma", please try to rest assured that these are NOT diagnoses of further cancer. A seroma is a localized fluid buildup, possibly a side effect of treatment (prior surgery and/or radiation. A papilloma is a benign growth within the breast ducts. A biopsy would be the best way for your wife's medical team to know exactly what is going on, and to determine whether any next steps are necessary.
