Overwhelmed
This is new for me. I can't sleep so I thought I would try to connect. I had a mamo, then a mamo with ultra sound, then a mamo with biopsy, and then an mri. I was supposed to schedule surgery but just found out I have to have a MRI with biopsy [my surgeon was sensitive enough to post it in my chart and schedule though we haven't talked]. What started out as one little cancerous tumor now may be two, three or four. I shared I would prefer a radical approach my first visit which was kinda dismissed. I know so little about this and googling is why I can't sleep. Am I crazy? Should I do test after test, procedure after procedure, small surgeries, possible radiation etc. with the possibility of ending up in the same place one day? I'm so confused.

Hi @roslynvaz
Welcome to the forum. We are sorry for what brought you here, but glad that you have found us.
The dx process can sometimes be very challenging. I think the attempt is always to do the least invasive things first and work through them to get a dx in which they are confident. The information gathered in these procedures help them make the best decisions for your treatment, if it does turn out to be a malignancy. I know it's hard and it's frustrating. Take a deep breath. Try and take things one at a time and move through the process. There will be a point when you know enough to have a plan moving forward.
Best of luck and Take Care.

Hi @roslynvaz , and welcome to the community. We know this is a frightening and confusing time, and we’re really glad you reached out.
It’s completely normal to feel overwhelmed with so many tests and questions. But think that each step, mammograms, ultrasounds, MRIs, biopsies, etc., is helping your care team understand what’s happening and make the best plan for you. Try to take it one step at a time, even though it can feel impossible. You deserve support and clarity, and you’re not alone in this.
These pages may help you understand the process and what to expect as you move forward:

Hi,
It would be really helpful if someone could break down and explain all the numbers/letters/abbreviations everyone posts concerning diagnosis. I'm trying to figure out mine from my tests and feel like I'm missing information. I would be vey grateful if someone could provide a glossary/cheat sheet.
Thank you
