Triple positive grade 3, stage 3A
I just recently finished surgery and pathology. Imaging showed a complete response. But then path comes back as RCB 3! I had 2 nodes with extranodal extention and now have to go back for alnd. What the heck 😭 I need encouragement and maybe long term survivor stories. I’m 43 w 3 small daughters.

I was also triple positive, grade 3, with two enlarged nodes (palpable), confirmed positive by biopsy, 3.5 cm tumor, stage 2B. Had chemo and then surgery, which confirmed the nodes were still positive (and the tumor was still 3.5 cm) after chemo, plus also extracapsular extension which meant the cancer was bursting out of those nodes. My kids were 10 at the time. It was terrifiyng but I am now 8 years out from surgery and doing well. Treatments for triple positive are now even better at preventing recurrence (Kadcyla which cut recurrence rates by half had not yet been approved)
Nobody wants cancer, but triple positive cancer has very very effective treatments, and the numbers are with you. You have excellent changes to never see this cancer again after treatment. I recovered well from the surgery including the ALND and with PT recovered full range of motion quickly.
