On edge with Kisqali
Hi all,
I am currently getting my lupron shot to stay in menopause. I am also taking letrazole and kisqali (on for 3 weeks and off for 1 week).
I feel like an angry monster when I am on Kisqali. My doctor says it’s not kisqali but I promise you it is. I feel less angry on my off week. I find myself being easily irritable and annoyed all the time.
Has anyone experienced this? What has helped? I am considering asking for a lower dose or switching back to tamixofen. My doctor said letrazole/kisqali had better % for reducing recurrence but at what cost? I’d rather live a happy life than one who I feel constantly irritated by and angry at the ones I love.

@mwkf2026 You're not the first person we've seen mention this. While mood changes aren't typically highlighted as a common Kisqali side effect, if you're noticing a clear pattern of feeling more irritable during the weeks you're taking it and better during your week off, that's worth discussing with your oncologist.
It's also possible that Lupron and letrozole are contributing, as both can affect mood. Sometimes it's difficult to tease out which medication is responsible when they're used together.
We agree that quality of life is important. If you're feeling significantly different from your usual self, it's reasonable to ask about options, including dose adjustments or alternative approaches. Hopefully others can share their experiences as well.

popping in to say that I too am grumpy on Kisqali and the last two round have cause acne. I think my body is starting to reject it. It’s been 2 years. My bones feel brittle and I’m a grouch. Not my best life TBH
