Implant advice
After Discussing my options with my Dr prior to surgery, I wanted to have the DIEP Flap procedure. I had CT scan done and my blood vessels are weak so I need to get implants- I have researched so much I’m now confused. I am 5 weeks post op double mastectomy, i was a double DD before and want to go smaller Reconstructive Surgery Nov 10, my next saline filling will be July 9th but these expanders are so uncomfortable. I would like to know what is the best and safest implant? I have 500 cc currently in my expanders and like the size. Also how long does it take to heal generally? Is November too short of time? Please advise.

I think I could have written your story.
Unilateral mastectomy. 7 weeks post-op. Final expander fill July 10, followed by plastic surgeon consult to discuss reconstruction options. I had a Pulmonary Embolism , 3 weeks post-op, so may not be a DIEP, may no longer be an option. With all the research I’m doing, I feel I qualify for a medical degree!!
Wanting to be educated and prepared for my July 10th appointment, as I would also like reconstruction late fall.
