29, Newly Diagnosed, and Trying to Stay Encouraged
Hi everyone, I’m 29 years old and was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. I’m still very new to all of this, and honestly, it has been a lot to process.
I’m preparing to start chemotherapy soon, and the past few weeks have felt like a whirlwind of appointments, scans, biopsies, phone calls, treatment decisions, and emotions that come in waves.
On top of that, life has not really paused. I’m still a wife, a mom, and a person with responsibilities. I have a newborn and a young child, so I’ve been trying to process a cancer diagnosis while also caring for my children, recovering postpartum, thinking about work, finances, treatment, and what the next several months may look like.
Some days I feel strong while other days I feel overwhelmed. Sometimes I feel peaceful, and then something small reminds me that this is real. I’m learning that you can have faith and still have moments where you cry, question, or feel scared.
I recently recorded a faith-based testimony episode as a way to process what I’m walking through and hopefully encourage someone else who may be newly diagnosed, preparing for chemo, or just trying to find strength in a season they never expected to face.
I don’t want to repeat the whole episode here, but the heart behind it is that even in a scary season, I don’t want fear to have the final word.
Whether you share my faith or not, I just want to say to anyone else going through this that you are not weak for having hard days and that you are not your diagnosis. You are still loved, still valuable, and still worthy of hope.
If links are allowed, I’ll share the episode here:

I’d also love to hear from others: what helped you emotionally or spiritually when you were first diagnosed or preparing to start treatment?
